Eguaveon considered international experience (especially African football) adaptability to African harsh weather. He didn't want to go with broilers( Dessers, Akpoguma, Lookman, Bassey and Ejaria) the aforementioned players are post AFCON project

A coach who received a 37 man list and his first decision was to remove Ebuehi, Dessers, Akpoguma, Bassey imagine if he was given the freedom to draw his own list from scratch, we are in trouble
grin grin Uchebo, Nwofor, Gambo Mohammed and the likes will be filled to the brim

There nothing like downfall cause Nwakali style of play is lazy

Do you think he could withstand Angiussa of Cameroon in midfield tussle, besides being a little bit creative he is lazy off the ball
And he has not done anything reasonable this season to deserve a call up
His contract with Huesca ends in June with the club not looking to retain him, he hasn't done anything reasonable this season to warrant a call up.

Any claims not backed up by facts are bogus
That's just how it is

the Fact is that same list, which Austin was trying to Update, pass through his Table as the Technical Director of the Nff,

he can't tell me he doesn't see the list, before it was submitted to CAF,

not just this list Alone, but all list during Rohr time, the too many defenders, the thin midfield, and continually invites to those who does not deserves it,

even Ighalo recall too, they all pass through his table

Truth is, every coach has his personal bias
The only thing Nigerians want is good football and results
If Eguavoen gives us that in the AFCON, we won't care which players he invites
After all, we didn't know Osaze until he burst into the scene at the 2002 AFCON

Let's not crucify Eguavoen yet
Let's see what he has to offer
He wasn't well known by many buy at least he was part of the national team and was doing well in Belgium for his club, he scored against Angola in 2003 as well in the qualifying game we played. His case is completely different from Nwakali.

Dude also contributed to his woes. If he had accepted Lord 'Bealish' Rohr's plea earlier and joined the team when he was being begged, he for be a solidified member of SE now. But he was waiting for Germany with a spice if shakara. See yourself now.

He is better than Ekong; but Ekong's selling point is that: he has been in the team for very long. Now that's an edge. Him, Dessers, and Ebuehi ought to make the team before Shehu, Collins, and Nacho.

Yes you're right
But Nwakali is there for one reason only: our lack of creativity in matches
If we focus on that and look past his club status, then we would understand why he's on the list
That's all there is to it

Big question
What if he comes in and solves our midfield creativity problem?
What would be your response then?

Nwakali is there for our lack of creativity? I hope he will justify that

But nwakali has been creative in his football career for him to be invited

I feel Eguavoen selected his team based on the physical style of African football and this may be the reason for the ommision of the foreign borns. He may have plans for them after AFCON. My fear now is how people like Akpoguma, Dessers and Ebuehi would take this? NFF has to explain to them so they don't get discouraged

Let me tell you the truth Bros,
This team is capable of winning the AFCON, even with our thin midfield
Eguavoen knows that
The main problem of this team was Rohr
Now that he's gone, these guys will regain their confidence which will translate into better performances and ofcourse results

Just relax my guy
We just got started

Yes, that's the only reason Nwakali is there
He can orchestrate plays from deep and has a good passing range
We have struggled with ball progression, he's there to plug that gap

It's simple really
All he needs to do is reach out to them and let them know they're still part of the group
After the AFCON I expect people like Musa, Ighalo, Shehu and maybe even Balogun to give way
That opens up spaces for the aforementioned players

I think Eguavoen made the right call on this one

He has not been creative this season based on his stats, and again why should we look past club status and form? The national team is not a rehab. I'm sure if Jack Wilshere was Nigerian he will still be invited for his creativity.

Nwakili must perform or bye bye to eagles....this is an opportunity for him to tell us that he wasn't that lucky club wise and he is better than Aribo and Iwobi cuz I don't see him walking straight into the team.

Egbon, he doesn't need to be better than Aribo or Iwobi
He has a different skillset to them
He can spread play, make good diagonal passes and is above average at set pieces
This is what he's bringing to the team
I pray he grabs the opportunity
This team needs a midfield creator

Eguavoen is gambling on Nwakili just like Rohr gambled on Maduka Okoye....hope it paid off but Nwakili am seeing it's 40/60....if he turns things around in Afcon I would be surprised.

I got your point but he must be better to put the duo on the bench or do you have any formations that will accommodate Nwakili,Aribo and Iwobi.
