Karlovych: You are the one jumping in circles here. The point is simple the coach wants a skill set from his midfielder. How you understand that as the only quality, or the important quality, or attributes of a midfielder is baffling. It is a skill he wants his midfielder to have. Kelechi Nwakali has the skill. The coach wants to work with him in camp to see if he can bring him up to speed to make the cut. How that worries you guys baffle me. The coach has his philosophy and Nwakali has a skill important to him. It is simple. Not only skill. It depends on the playing pattern. Finito. 2 Likes |

nelszx: You should know You said he is a free kick specialist and you don’t know the amount of free kick he has scored ,nwakali has played more than 100 career game’s with B teams and first teams So he should have scored like 5 free kick at least |

People should also try to watch the tactical video. You will understand some of the decisions made by the manager. One thing he stressed was the team will play expansive football. Meaning the forward players will take positions high up the pitch. Then with diagonal long balls, the forward players will get the ball in the opposition's defense. Then runners at 100km/h will run to give the forwards support to create numbers. With that, you will understand why he needs a deep-lying playmaker. I guess we will have a defender that will offer this skill too. Eguavoen believes in expansive offensive football. I will explain more later. 1 Like |

TheGoodJoe: With nwakali a 4 4 2 formation may be possible. He and ndidi can Marshall the midfield. Chidera ejuke can play as a false winger who sometimes comes to the middle. There are many options possible. Look our lack of tactical depth is why Small teams embarrass us. We need nwakali skill set. One small team iwobi a false covid report because they realized that our midfield revolves around him and once he is not there we might struggle to create chances. Other teams can read us like a book and nullify us and nwakali offers something different. I'm tired of this. Club football rating is not everything. Onuachu and Moses Simon made us realize that. Every great team always has a dark horse or surprise player. People here should try and see things our way. Midfield control is fundamental to football and if you can win the midfield you have won 50% of the match. Nwakali offers midfield control and can even make the job easier for iwobi if they play together. Time will prove me right 4 Likes 1 Share |

TheGoodJoe:The Goodjoe I think you credit too much to this video as a statement of Eguavoen's philosophy. Eguavoen dwelt more on the playing style of the 94 squad. One can hardly make much of his philosophy from this video to warrant the way you have been attributing a lot to his philosophy. 1 Like |

andrewbaba44: Nobody is justifying anything. Stop building mountain out of a molehill. Olise Nda is a richly talented player that has a lot to offer and we will check him out. Akpoguma , however , has not really impressed but I will still take him over the emerging Olise Nda. NB: I am not saying Nda is better than Akpoguma because I don't want any back and forth. |

Karlovych: If you are familiar with what Nwakali brings to the table then you would not be asking this question. Nwakali has the abilities to play those pin point long passes... that is in his skill set. He is a natural midfielder controller with deadly deft touches in the 18yrd box. Please , don't follow this up with another silly question. I am not here to do comparisons. |

Philosopher1979: Same nwakali that has poor work rate lazy and clumsy off the ball . Dude is one of the most lazy player I have seen He needs to be good in ball recovery and driving forward to fair well in a 442 set or else he will be the weak link in the midfield when we get to play an attacking side |

Karlovych: Again , stay on the topic. We are discussing his abilities and he is not a striker. And , remember I told you we are not making comparisons....its too complicated because many factors shall be considered. Bottom line , Nwakali has what we desperately need and we will check him out. |
