I also wanted to reply her but i had to logout after seeing her comment since no one replied her then. You all just spoke my mind. We cant really say for sure what went wrong and yea that lady took sides. I knew it came from a female. She said gender war...no be gender war matter just read through your post again and you will see what we are talking about.
You know you and shoeshineguy could have just quoted me directly instead of responding indirectly and lamenting about how you wanted to quote me on this and that. Anyway I still maintain that my opinion is mine and I am only responsible for what I type and not what you understood from my post. Yes, it's not a gender war. If my opinion isn't objective enough, state yours in the most objective way you deem fit. I may be biased but in your hearts, you know there may be a 40% or even 50% possibility that this was done out of spite and wickedness. We have seen too many wickedness going on in a lawless country like Nigeria to not want to tilt towards supporting the female gender (YES, I am biased in this case and I admit. Hope that makes you feel better). Femi Fani Kayode comes to mind of how spouses with more money are more powerful in Nigeria and how they can do things and get away with it. What if he gave the consent and then revoked it just as the woman claimed? That's another angle. Like I said in my post to the first guy who quoted me, I am only pained for the kids who are caught in between two immature parents. I hope now that he has the kids, he is going to devote his time to them instead of keeping them with relatives or leaving them unsupervised with nannies. They are the real victims in all of these. The woman had the option of going for full custody but she chose to cheat the system by forging a consent form as also stated in the case so she should be left to bear the consequences of her actions. Going back to court to decide full custody could be long but it will give her peace of mind or better still a safer and peaceful option of sitting and having a discussion with her ex spouse is another. But I am left to wonder why a woman would want to take the kids away from her husband without a genuine reason? There is a reason for everything, I don't think she is a monster who just wants to deprive a man access to his kids. However, nothing changes the fact that the burden resulting from the selfishness of two adults is falling on two innocent kids. Seeing that they both have money to drag each other to court internationally shows they will both be fine. I am sorry if you don't like my post.

Are you comparing DOB’s, names, addresses with bank statements? They ask for those only because it’s necessary to do your security/background checks. That’s literally information they can’t process your application without. It’s also information you already know, you don’t even need to ask your family’s permission to use that. An address, DOB, name etc aren’t as confidential as your banking information is. I’m not taking educated guesses. IRCC will never ask for your donors SOA especially if they aren’t on the application. Take that to the bank. I also don’t think there’s anything unreasonable with asking for names and addresses of family members. There’s so many other places that ask for that information. When you process your Social insurance number, they even ask for your parents information if I can remember clearly. I think they asked for my moms maiden name or something like that. There’s also so many organizations that have forms that ask for such info.

Asking for someone else’s bank statements is unreasonable because the chances of the person even giving it to you(the applicant) are extremely slim. I would rather give out my DOB and name than give out my bank statements to a friend to use on an application that doesn’t concern me tbh. That’s why I said it’s an unreasonable request.

At red: ok o grin

When we say reasonable: means logical...does it make sense to ask for it, if as a VO I doubt the gift deed, IMO, yes. Does it make sense that said donor should be as willing to provide it as he was to give the actual CAD13k gift, IMO, yes. This is not a common request anyway, never heard of it before this week. The gist of the person whose friend it happened to (that started us off on this discussion) has been edited for confidentiality reasons cheesy

At green: the fact that many organizations ask for name, DOB, mother's maiden name, address, does not make them less confidential. That's why data privacy laws exist cool

Besides, some students applying for TRV/study visa add their sponsors' SOA as part of their application to IRCC.....the presumption is that this type of gift will only come from family or an extremely close friend who wants to help with your application.

Anyway, we agree to disagree....may we never get an ADR that we cannot provide smiley

It's not necessary.

Are you saying he doesn't have to show the source of the funds that came in a few days to submission?

A friend submitted only a Reference letter as employment proof. She has been worried that she should have submitted bank statement proof as well.

Is there any negative impact on the app?

Heard that IRCC might be able to clear 50% of their inventory by Jan/Feb. that we might see a general draw again. I really pray for this (amen)

Not requested upfront by IRCC if reference letter is as per IRCC, but some of us provide as the efiko wey we be. Pls let her review the link to the IRCC application checklist on page 1 to give her comfort........but if her heart is still beating and she is having insomnia because of it, she can send it as a webform (links to the two types also on page 1).

I reviewed her letter, it's in IRCC format.

Instead of sending via we form is it not better she wait and see if they request since RL is in required format?

It's her app, it's up to her really. IMO no harm sending webform and no harm waiting either. It's common and normal for people to second guess docs they provided when they submit.....in fact we should call is post AOR syndrome grin...but seriously, let her do whatever she is comfortable with so her mind will be at rest.

She doesn’t have to worry. I did the same ( 4 letters; 1 from a previous place of work and 3 from current because of role changes) and I am AOR NOV 2019, application was approved in March 2020 but because of covid I couldn’t travel and now just recently got request to redo Medicals. She has nothing to worry about.

The only thing that is required of you to prove your employment is a reference letter in IRCC format. To be honest, na over do dey make us add bank statement. She will be fine, if the VO needs additional documents, she will be contacted. However, if she still doesn't feel better, she can go ahead to add her bank statement but if I were in her shoes, I will wait it out.

This wait can be quite depressing. Its now about 2 years post AOR and there's no hope my application will be finalised anytime soon. I already plan to withdraw my application by June 2022 if I don't get any feedback from these people. I need to plan my life. Cant wait in perpetuity for something that may never come.

These people need to realise that the waiting game does a lot of havoc to people. I should have started a project a long time ago, but I keep postponing it on the basis that it will be a waste of funds if I eventually relocate to Canada. I think I will just terminate the process in June next year. Canada is not all there is to life abeg

I am in a similar situation as you. The wait can be very frustrating indeed.

After a while of waiting, I decided to carry on with my life as if IRCC does not exists. I will advise you to do the same. Do not to put your life on hold and do not withdraw your application (IMO it makes no sense withdrawing).

My AOR is Feb 2020. I spent the entire 2020 waiting and hoping. I paused every plan I had hoping I'd get ppr soon. But it never came.

This 2021, I decided to live normally. I pursued all my plans and I have no regrets at all.

I eventually got a remed request on 21st on this month. I'm hoping ppr come soon after.

hello @tshtsh, your PR journey sounds very much like mine. My application is almost a year old too. i lld like to connect with you and possibly join a group of people waiting for ppr, if you belong to any. Please let me know how i can reach you.

When I look back I wonder why I didnt apply for this program in 2018 or 2019. I had everything then (masters degree, 3 years + work experience, under 30..). It only occurred to during the 2020 lockdown when I clocked 30 even then I was slow. I wrote IELTS scoring L8.5 R8.5 W7.5 S8.0 and missed the October 14, 2020 draw due to what I still cant explain lol. Was at the endsars protest/funfare at the lekki/ikoyi toll plaza when my friend from CA called to ask if I had received ITA. Told him I didnt have my IELTS TRF number and moved on. October 30th came and there was no draw which got me a bit worried. Draw eventually happened after November 4 and cutoff was 478 which was above my score. Nevertheless I received ITA at the November 18 2020 draw. Considered rejecting the ITA because my POF was not complete then but later got encouraged not to reject it and I saved money aggressively (salary, allowances, bonus) from then onwards till I submitted my application within the 90 days timeline. Looking back at the CEC + PNP only draws I would have been full of regrets if I didnt apply.
On the other hand, the both those waiting for an ITA and those who have received ITAs + submitted are having it tough. I submitted my application almost one year ago but have no idea when it will be processed. In the meantime I've had to keep $13,000 in an account resisting the temptation to use out of it when my other account goes low. Uncertainties here and there. Those waiting in the pool are losing points due to age and having their language test results expire. A number of people I know who moved to UK/Ireland have lost interest in canada after waiting more than one year.

Regarding your post I see it as political even though my opinion doesnt matter as regards issues of canada and canadians. They sent emails to temporary residents who met some preset requirements(virtual landing) change their status to permanent immigrants. [/quote]

Please my people in the house, I'm about to pay for WES evaluation today. I have a BSc Degree from LASU and also a diploma certificate from the same LASU. This will count as two certificates for me right? Should I submit both the BSc Degree and Diploma or I should only submit the BSc? Thanks for your anticipated response.

They may never ask for the donor's account statement but you may get an ADR that could just be easily cleared up with that document even if it's not specifically asked for. They never even asked for donations as pof to begin with, so anyone using giftdeed bears the whole responsibility of making the pof as clear as possible to the VO. After all in student applications where sponsors are allowed, sponsors bank statements are submitted. After reading those judicial review cases, I've realized that the most important thing is to try to keep your application as truthful, clear and straightforward as possible.

I read a case here of someone who submitted just proof of a 6-month+-old investment as POF, he got ADR to submit 12 months of his account statements. I'd attach a screenshot and I'm still wondering how/if he got out of it.

The outcome is dependent on what wes will evaluate your diploma certificate as. So I will say submit both and give it a try, you have nothing to lose and you won't be paying extra. I just hope you included the diploma at the point of registration for WES. If not , you can send them a mail to include that since your evaluation is yet to start.

Hello,
Please I have a question.
I got remidical request on the 17th of this month, did my medicals with iom on the 22nd, and iom called me today to say I’ve passed and they have uploaded my medicals.
However on my Cic page, my medical information hasn’t changed( it’s still saying “we have requested for a medical”
Should I be bothered? And call iom to complain? Or chill?

I am happy you sharing this story so that people can learn from it. it is mine. I am a PR in canada and yes went through a lot fighting for my girls to stay back because they are the major reason i came here. I am also happy and not surprised to read the many comments and diverse views. Indeed it is very easy to judge a situation when one has no idea of the back story.

Like many said, it is indeed true that my poor kids are at the receiving end in all of this. I won't waste thousands of dollars going to court to fight for them if i did not feel unjustly treated. I surely intended to bring them to Canada and informed their dad of my intentions by myself before things went sour.

I relocated for a better life for myself and the girls and i had been their primary parent for 8 years before their return. It was indeed a big change for them to have to return to new primary parents and begin to get used to other people's way of doing things. That is my worry and not the blame game.

But one thing is sure, there is more than meets the eyes. I certainly will not put my kids through untold hardship intentionally. To all readers, whatever you can learn from this story please learn and i am willing to share more from my experience to anyone in a similar situation and does not know what to do. Mistakes are to be learned from.
