Solofresh2:What most people don't know is that- Some people have the gift of emotionally feeling the impact of the environment on people around them; Such people are never satisfied with inequality, prejudices, hatred, oppression, hunger and war around their world. Some goes to the extreme of feeling every atomic impact of this former phenomena on every one around them. Some Good people are just like they are Carrying the burden of the World in Real-Time that is 24/7,these tends to weight many of them down especially those that are not strong enough physically and psychologically. Solofresh2: Death here doesn't mean physical death, the Bible explains that after physical death comes judgement. So the real life or death is in the after life when God will gather everyone's deeds and judge them by it, at that time all wickedness will be rewarded and all good deeds will also be rewarded. |

Solofresh2:It's simple, we are all sinners, even babies. We inherited the imperfections and sin from our first parents. Like some children inherit HIV or Davido will inherit is fathers wealth. This is why we are all going to die. We are all going to pay for this sin either we repent or not. Foetus in the womb dies a 200years old person will eventually die. As we all inherit this sin we all will pay with death. The place of repentance and good living is that we will have hope of coming alive back into a perfect life and world without sin. The wicked don't have this hope. They die and perish away. |

Christians especially and the world in general need to realize a fact: Adam was given two choices, obey and continue to have life(both physical and eternal life) or disobey and die(eternal death, opposite of life, state of non-existence, spiritual death, the real ). Adam disobeyed and chose death which he passed to his descendants and they too in turn passed it to their children and so on and so forth. They were lost. They lived a short time physically and then died to await the spiritual death that the Bible says "is the wages of sin". However God promised a savior that would come later and reverse the doomed fate of mankind. Now equipped with the knowledge of good and evil, Adam lived his remaining life hoping for that Messiah, making sure to pass on the promise to his sons before he died physically. And everyone one of his descendants who hoped in a future redemption lived accordingly and died while still hoping. Everyone of Adam's descendants who believed and lived in the hope of a future redemption strove to live godly lives and they were all resurrected the day Jesus rose from the grave. They escaped that real " death that is the wages of sin" spoken by the Bible. Consequently, everyone of the remainder of Adam's descendants that choose to believe and live in the hope of the Messiah that has already come, died and resurrected will also escape that real "death that is the wages of sin" spoken by the Bible even though they died physically. So whereas physical death(separation of our organic matter from our spiritual matter) is a normal occurrence and will happen to everyone except the last generation, spiritual death, the kind the Bible says is the "wages of sin" is reserved only for the wicked sinners. So pls be advised. The death everyone will still die one day here on earth is quite different from that one that the Bible calls "the wages of sin is death". The death you refer to is really like sleep compared to the one that the Bible says is the " wages of sin". The Lord be with you. 1 Like |

Ungodly: you did hear that "the just shall live" and "the meek shall inherit the earth". Revelation already tells you where the Righteous shall live forever. (New heaven/ new earth, this one has been destroyed by the wicked, so the wicked will be destroyed with it.) Therefore, the goods the righteous are to eat is not here. They have been transferred. |

Solofresh2: Maybe we should look at it from spiritual death than the physical death. Sin accumulation(in wages) will definitely kill the man’s conscience to further commit more evil. More evil will hold you down, giving little light for repentance to come in this person. A lot of people walking around these days are walking corpse. Dead to the gospel of truth been preached every day. Seeing Christ as a folklore or some fairy tales from some Oyinbo dem. |

@ Solofresh2 Happy Sunday Nairalanders This simply means spiritual death. Spiritual death is being cut off from the Holy Spirit which is the source of all life. The person may still be walking around physically but inside he or she is dead. That is what sin does to a person. |

Solofresh2: You are a spirit living in a body so when the verse says the wages of sin is death the death there applies to you, a spirit. Now how do spirits die? Well lets start with how all things die. If a thing cannot perform the same functions it was created to perform then it is dead. Based on this definition we can easily see how human and non-human entities or objects can die. You can say your phone is dead if it is in a condition where you cannot make a call with it, you cannot receive a text message with it, you cannot take a selfie with it (if it has a camera), etc. The more functions which your phone was designed to perform, cannot perform the deader your phone. Now apply this to a dead spirit. As a spirit you were created in the image of GOD so you ought to be like GOD in every way: compassionate, righteous in judgment, loving, holy, wise, powerful, courageous, enduring, strong, futuristic, strategic, visionary, humorous, patient, graceful, merciful, law abiding, etc and your spirit should have a form like GOD, like a consuming fire (Hebrew 12:29)...but the more you sin, the less of these functions you will be able to perform. The more you sin the less like GOD you will be and you will find that you becoming, the opposite of GOD, unsympathetic, biased in judgment, hateful, unholy, foolish, powerless, fearful, weak, with no taste for planning for the future, dumb, stupid, bland, impatient, without mercy, lawless etc. The more you sin, the more you lose the functions of GOD, the more you lose the functions of GOD the more you die, the more you die the more you become like the father of the dead, the devil. The devil started dying in the manner I described from before Adam since his great fall and he has been dying ever since. The other part of the verse you quoted says "....but the gift of GOD is eternal life..." and it suggests that the cure for death as I have described is the gift of eternal life and what is eternal life, it is "knowing GOD" (John 17:3) and to know GOD is not just mere mental assent that idolaters, muslims and even some Christians claim to have rather it is to become ONE with GOD as Jesus promised in John 17:13 and to be ONE with GOD is to be LIKE GOD. To be a consuming fire. |

Solofresh2: It simply means there's no hellfire where God punishes sinners. We're all sinners, like Adam whose end was death. The fact that Jesus came to die for us doesn't mean we can't die. So Jesus death guarantees that we have a chance to be saved and have hope of living forever even if we die. Death is the ultimate punishment for sin. All humans have inherited that even before they were born. |

Know this!!!either u repent or not...u will die someday....but the wages of sin is death is this...once u're a sinner and u fail to amend ur ways,u will die and have no space or room in heaven cos God has himself gone to prepare that for his own children..then for not making heaven ,one is death/destroyed forever in hell!!!Making peace with one's Creator is key!!God helps us. |

Re: What Does "The Wages Of Sin Is Death" Really Means by bencher14: 11:50am On Jan 02, 2022 |
All of us are sinners by virtue of Adams sin, whether we are wicked or not we all must die. There is no prove that the wicked live longer. Death affects everybody untill Gods kingdom come. But those who managed to be righteous by faith in Jesus can have hope to live forever. So the sin mentioned in that Bible is the sin we inherited by Adam. Nobody is righteous today. Only God know who is righteous. |

What is meant here is the second death, doesn't matter how long you lived here on earth, if at the end one ends up in he'll which is the second death, and righteousness is not a guarantee for salvation but is a necessity, a prerequisite, which one must try, to do, |
