Mineral resources FDI. Kenya is key source of FDI in Africa. After South Africa - we are next who sent investment to Africa.

Our non-oil did in 2020 is bigger than your fdi in 2020. Go figure idiot.

South Africa is the saudi arabia of minerals.
GeneralDae:

Where is the FDI. You said after South Africa, you are next? but South Africa is still up there as number 3 and you are not even 10th on the list. So where are the investments?

I know you're ignorant - Egypt has big oil and gas industry. Half the FDI is invested in that sector.
FDI that is lagging in Africa - is non-mineral fdi - investment in manufacturing, services and agricluture - that can really turn around economies - and provide employment.Otherwise dont go further than Nigeria to see how all that Oil and Gas has contributed little except make a few rich - mostly foreigners.

Africa needs to attract more non-resource based FDI: FDI in Africa is concentrated in
natural resource (Asiedu et al., 2015b). Furthermore, natural resources have a direct and indirect
effect on FDI. Specifically, there is an extensive literature that shows that natural resources have
an adverse effect on economic growth (i.e., the natural resource curse literature)

Lol. Tanzania is actually growing though and I have observed that next to Ghana it's the new country of interest for many black Americans and foreigners these days.
You guys have great tourist potentials ( more than what you're doing at the moment) alongside Egypt.
Ghana has a government which wants the AA to come back home. But our TZ gv don't care about it,they want them to come as real investors and pay just the same way the whites pay. That's a hindrance which many AA face when they wanna settle in TZ.If it wasn't for tough immigration laws, Tz could've pulled all AA to TZ.
Again, our same outdated styled gov don't have a clue on how to run tourism industry. Egypt which has fewer tourist attractions than Tz receives over 10 million visitors. While TZ is around 2m.It is sad considering we have more tourist attractions than anyone else in Africa.

Some of the glitches we have in TZ tourism industry are..
1. High costs
2.Lack of better infrastructure & modernization
3.Unproffessionalism
4.Poor marketing
5.Stupid police and immigration officers who are busy extort money from the same few tourists we manage to get

6) Blocking kenya investment in hotels and accomodation - and more importantly Kenya WORLD CLASS MOST SOUGHT AFTER KENYA UTALLI COLLEGE graudate - running hotels worldwide - almost as good as the Swiss. Even in Ghana - their useless hotel industry is hiring kenyans.

Since its inception Kenya Utalii College has grown in size and scope to become the prestigious institution of international repute that it is today. We are internationally recognized as a center of academic excellence in hotel and tourism training.

Established 28 years ago, the College has trained close to 25, 000 students both in full and part time course programs. The above number includes both local and foreign students coming from over 40 countries.

We are attracting the right FDI - you're poster child of what is now called Nigeria Oil curse. The FDI you're attracting is more harmful than receiving nothing.

South African airways is worse position than KQ. They have gone belly up. KQ has never stopped flying since 1963 - or 1978 when East African Ariline gave way to regional airlines.

As for Tanzania - you're hopeless.

KQ still own your precision air

Uhuru went to SA seeking a merger with SAA. But unfortunately, the SAA realized you own only 3 old planes. Now SA dont want a merger with KQ.How could someone with 50 planes merge with a poor man of only 3 planes? Who would've accepted that bullshit?

What Kenya was doing was madness. You were just looking for someone to drown with since you can't swim, you decided to hold on the feet of someone hoping you will survive the imminent death from tough waters which are ruled by big boys ( air TZ,Rwandair,Ethiopians, etc)

Dream on. In Subsahara Africa - KQ is now 2nd to Ethiopia - after SA went belly up.
KQ's subsidiaries like Precision Air or JamboJet - beat your useless airline.
Airline business is not owning jets - you can lease them - it's the entire operation that need to work like a clockwork
Something you lazy dull Tanzanians CANNOT HACK

It was already done - and the result - kenya is africa largest non-mineral economy - a well diversified liberalized economy that has grown non stop since 2003 - and will grow at same pace if not more for more years. It's the trick you will not get.

That road plus brt will fix Nairobi major problem - traffic jams - once that is fixed - Nairobi will attract more investments, visitors and tourist. We need to double down on such investment - because Nairobi has economies of location working for it - and will overtake Joburg as the Africa HQ.

Look at united Arab nation for instance, see how they have turned their country with oil.

You are a fool. This happened in 2020 amidst COVID.now tell me did Kenya get up to $600m fdi in the year 2020.And pls bear in mind that this is just for a single project, they are other projects/sector that guzzled investment as well.

I repeat our non-oil fdi is bigger than your entire annual fdi,Facts.

Managing Director of African Industries Group of Companies, Mr. Alok Gupta, Monday, said the company’s $600 million Integrated Steel Plant will be Nigeria’s biggest non-oil foreign direct investment, FDI.

Absolutely. We now need to focus on the housing units. Inner streets are being fixed by NMS, rehabilitation of buildings is on the course, the master planner in Nairobi is just something else.
Nairobi should now maintain her green space. Nairobi is pretty much better with greens, it makes it more aesthetically appealing even to foreign investors.
