[s]The Nigerian Agric sector is almost the size of Brazil in terms of GDP -/[/s]quote]

HOW? WHAT? Let me remind you the critical tractors per capita stats:

Brazil 113 2006

Naij 6.7 2007

Not even the notorious Naij voodoo could possibly allow you to outproduce them agriculturally. You're not near the same league-they're Champions League while you're struggling to avoid relegation in the Waffa div 5! You're hoe powered subsistence cassava farming is farrrr from their industrialised farming operations. Fyi,Brazil is undergoing a successful agricultural revolution.

Due to advancements in agricultural technology that benefit farmers all over the world, Brazilian farmers today are creating thriving agricultural operations on land that was considered agriculturally useless for hundreds of years. In addition, these operations are more productive, allowing for more harvest, using less land. As of 2016, Brazil’s sugarcane and orange crops were more productive than those anywhere else in the world, based on how much they can produce per acre of land.

Since its inception Kenya Utalii College has grown in size and scope to become the prestigious institution of international repute that it is today. We are internationally recognized as a center of academic excellence in hotel and tourism training.

Established 28 years ago, the College has trained close to 25, 000 students both in full and part time course programs. The above number includes both local and foreign students coming from over 40 countries.

Intercon worldwide has a training deal with Utalii. For a decade now.

Utalii signs training deal with InterCon

Hoteliers have stepped in to raise the training standards in the hospitality industry, which is increasingly facing shortage of talent due to stiff competition.

An initiative of the Kenya Association of Hotel Keepers and Caterers (KAHC), students and faculty of pioneer trainer Utalii College will be coached by InterContinental Hotel Nairobi.

Signed as a pilot last week, KAHC says if well run the project will be extended to other colleges at a time Kenya is fighting for a stronger presence in the tourism industry.

“This will enhance the relationship between Utalii College and the industry, with students getting exposure in different kitchens,” said Mr Mike Macharia, the KAHC chief executive.

South Africa’s embattled national airline has flown its first plane since March 2020 after emerging from bankruptcy proceedings.

Passengers on the South African Airways (SAA) flight from Johannesburg to Cape Town on Thursday were greeted on their departure by singing and dancing airline staff.

Once Africa’s second largest airline after Ethiopian Airlines, SAA had survived for decades on government bailouts and was shedding routes even before the COVID-19 pandemic struck....Chief Finance Officer Fikile Mhlontlo said this week that the airline’s fleet is down to six planes, from a previous 46.

Nigerian Agriculture at a glance:

Nigeria produced in 2018:

59.4 million tons of cassava (the largest producer in the world). Nigeria accounts for cassava production of up to 20 per cent of the world, about 34 per cent of Africa’s and about 46 per cent of West Africa’s.[2]
47.5 million tons of yam (largest producer in the world);
10.1 million tons of maize (14th largest producer in the world);
7.8 million tons of palm oil (4th largest producer in the world, second only to Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand);

7.5 million tons of vegetable;
6.8 million tons of sorghum (2nd largest producer in the world, second only to the United States);
6.8 million tons of rice (one of the largest producers of rice in Africa,[2] 14th largest producer in the world);
4 million tons of sweet potato (3rd largest producer in the world, second only to China and Malawi);
3.9 million tons of tomato (11th largest producer in the world);
3.3 million tons of taro (largest producer in the world);
3 million tons of plantain (5th largest producer in the world);
2.8 million tons of peanut (3rd largest producer in the world, second only to China and India);
2.6 million tons of cowpea (largest producer in the world);
2.2 million tons of millet (4th largest producer in the world, second only to India, Niger and Sudan);
2 million tons of okra (2nd largest producer in the world, second only to India);

1.6 million tons of pineapple (7th largest producer in the world);
1.4 million tons of sugarcane;
1.3 million tonnes of potato;
949 thousand tons of mango (including mangosteen and guava);
938 thousand tons of onion;
833 thousand tons of papaya (6th largest producer in the world);
758 thousand tons of soy;
747 thousand tons of green pepper;
585 thousand tons of egusi;
572 thousand tons of sesame seed (4th largest producer in the world, losing only to Sudan, Myanmar and India);

369 thousand tons of ginger (3rd largest producer in the world, losing only to India and China);
332 thousand tons of cocoa (4th largest producer in the world, second only to Ivory Coast, Ghana and Indonesia);
263 thousand tons of sheanut;
In addition to smaller productions of other agricultural products.

However Brazil is far more commercialized than we are, but we have the population and land. Agriculture is by far the largest employer of labour in Nigeria.
Also I have never found a data that says Nigeria has a bigger agricultural sector than Brazil. Agriculture is about 21% of about 450 Billion dollars. We are in range but Brazil is still bigger than that, so why the lies?

BeforeJuly:

Brother you shouldn't fall for this scam. My friend was in Kigali from September to mid December 2021and he had a lot of negative things to say about Rwanda.

Those guys actually heavily fine beggars...they must not be spotted any where within Kigali.

Most of the citizens are poor and most things were outrageously expensive. Just be prepared to spend double and sometimes triple of whatever you want to buy.

Rent is very exorbitant. And not worth the price.

They basically milk foreigners to their last dime so you really need to have a lot of money on you. As a foreigner you pay double the price of any thing.

The Rwanda beyond Kigali is basically a village. My friend saw all these himself.

3G experience was very depressing for him and 4G was underwhelming. Cost of data was also high.
The mosquitoes of Kigali are also very ruthless. Emphasis on ruthless.

One major upside for Him was the express licence to smash sexy girls once they found out you were Nigerian. ( Partly because of the money a Nigerian takes to Kigali and partly due to the access to free WiFi in his apartment).

You can't really speak against Kagame too. Kigali is heavily policed also.
Their nation is in debt as well.

Might be good for vacations but don't try to compare countries like Nigeria and Kenya to Rwanda.

Most visitors aren't impressed. Kigali is carefully made up with gimmicks like the airport robot to encourage the image of a Central African Singapore. Or the 100 mn $ Kigali Arena.
But even admirers beyond praising Kagame for post 94 reconstruction are hard put to find true innovation. The society also is tiny with elements of not just brutality but sadism eagerly inflicted by Kagame like an old time Mwami on anyone who doesn't toe the line. If unmasked you're forced to attend an all night lecture.

Since mid-July, official figures show that about 70,000 people accused of ignoring the 9:00 pm curfew or rules on mandatory face masks have been ordered by police to sit through hours of speeches at local arenas or detention centres.

Who does that!?

Btw, there's a strong undercurrent of witchcraft in Rwanda blamed for poverty, illness and death. They're as bad as Waffas with that ishyt! I've heard them talking of curses and jinnis here Kampala and Kigali. I rmbr just after the genocide some Tutsi hotties in Nairobi told me Habyarimana died cause if revenge from the spirits for killing his predecessor Grigoire Kayibanda in 73 by starvation.

Nigeria, the world fifth largest palm oil producer, consumes around two million tonnes of palm oil per year, half of which is imported, with local output at 800,000 to one million tonnes.

Nigeria’s rice production rose from 4.89 million metric tonnes in 2020 to 5.0 million metric tonnes in 2021, data from the United States Department of Agriculture showed.
