Don't forget Jesus was a Nazareth(had dreads) and was not judged using his hair type. But then, our society has stereotyped dreadlocks as a sign or show of irresponsibility. We think low cut or bald portrays responsibility which is not necessarily true. 99% of criminals and terrorists paraded were not wearing dreadlocks but low cut. So, as a school owner, i'll give every applicant a fair treatment and later make them understand how the society sees things and how the way they see things may affect our business. A sensible dreadlock applicant would reason out my explanation.

Jesus was not a Nazarite though. Being a Nazarene and being a Nazarite are two different things.

. You are very stupid and foolish fir using Jesus Christ as an example. Comparing Jesus Christ to a mere irresponsible mortal. May al the curses in the Bible come on you, stay with you and overtake you in Jesus name. Make God never forgive you for this no matter your prayers or your repentance in the future

For your mind, you are fighting for Jesus. Are you sure you've read any of his teachings? If you have, then you should know you have no right passing judgement, telling God who or who not to forgive.

Jesus was never a Nazareth. He was from the area of nazarene. The later is a geographical location not a role like the former.
Jesus most likely had his hair well trimmed like the other Jews around. Disregard the portraits u see.
He never wore dreads though.
I am not against dread however. I am just showing facts

Must they be world renowned before they dreadlocks? It's a thing of choice style
see ehn no doubt there are responsible people carrying dreadlocks but for a majority of their population, they are irresponsible and i would have fears on first encounter with any until i am convinced otherwise probably after some interractions. Have you ever wonderd why a majority of those into yahoo carry on the style? Then Ask around ; how many CEO's carry on dreadlocks? . This should tell you there's something wrong somewhere already

What's this mentality about dreadlocks tho..?or should I call it a stereotype?
Are you judging by the looks of a person or what he has to offer?most persons are influenced by their pastors who says anyone who carries dreadlocks..earing and the rest is automatically useless..
It doesn't work that way...your looks doesn't determine who you are gonna be..
But there's a saying that you'll be addressed the way you're dressed. And from experience, the adage is true.

It is because white people are scared of black beauty. And you know African Christians are the biggest yanch leakers of white people. So, whatever white people don't like, you know Africans will not like it too.

So teachers putting on wig are advising student to do same?
Dred is not modesty so wig and attachment i what ?

Our community has custom and tradition, men cut their hairs and women make theirs. Some women cut theirs bc of health issues... The community pardons them, like wise girls. Dreadlocks are seen as a sign of being a rascal. Of course you know it is alien to our culture. Kids will be attracted to it because it's reigning .

Your hairstyle is part of what constitutes your look and appearance now, or do I need to spell that out for you sir. If it's natural then no big deal, but in this part of the world it will lead to controversies o. So instead of causing unnecessary wahala cos of that, why not avoid it altogether.

You are not traveled so I understand your ignorance. In America, white people are just now accepting that it is okay to hire black people with dreads. In some schools in America, black children with dreads are still punished till today.

who cares about what people like in their individual life? The problem arises when you set up a job or education condition that unfairly targets a particular race. Get it?

You still don't understand me then, the society we're in is kinda conservative and hypocritical at best in this part of the world. I remembered my mom's reaction the first day I did the popular Obama hairstyle over a decade ago while I was still in Secondary School. I remembered been sent back to the barbing salon for a retouch on the hairstyle. In a society like ours, where Policemen arrest youths cos of ordinary hairstyle ehnnn. And back to your side of the argument sir, I'd rather say that the individual should go with the flow, some/most organizations particularly in Nigeria have their dress codes and all, some Nigerian schools even dictate the type of hairstyle the female students ought to plait.
Secondary schools in Nigeria place a lot of importance on dressing and appearance.

And my mom is one of the highly religious types, people are often surprised when they get to know that I'm her son sef. Not that I'm an atheist, or engage in commonly perceived bad behaviours o, but I'm not highly religious like her. She's one of the types who will bind and cast demons before using a body care products too. She's a wonderful woman, no doubt. But she's always doing things within her religious confines. We have a lot of individuals in Nigeria like that.

Your brain must be paining you. Dreads is a black/African hair style. Not hiring people with dreads in a multi-race country like America amounts to undue burden to the employment abilities of people who are black or of African descent.

I think it depends on the particular job you are referring to..if dreadlocks go against the code and ethics they do have the right to say they ain't employing blacks with dread..same way you can't enlist into the army with a full hair or dreadlocks..office works..and the rest..
My problem with your statement was where you said white are scared of blacks beauty and dreads..

Who told Africans that dreadlocks are bad? Who told Africans that African traditional religion is evil? Who told Africans that their language and culture is inferior?

You are not a deep thinker. You are a typical surface dweller with an inability to go to the root of current social situations. I can never employ you for anything that requires deep and critical thinking.

When I say read you really need to..The bias is deeply rooted in traditional religious beliefs and myths amongst Nigerians ranging back to years ago..

So in your confused mind you are trying to say whites came over and told Africans that dreadlock is bad and automatically makes one a rascal huh?

Whites did more than that even. The basically convince Africans that their culture/ traditional religion is evil. Why do you think that Christianity is very popular among Africans? Why do you think bleaching is a billion dollar industry in Africa?

Seriously, you are telling someone to read but you consistently show an inability for basic logic as regards the impact of colonialism on the African psyche. Have you ever read a book on the effect of colonialism on Africans?
