Timeline

Mar 31 - I cancelled my previous booking

Apr 1st (0:05) - resubmitted for Category B

Same first week of April - requested for a new admission letter from school since I deregistered the previous semester due to lack of concentration from online studies and woeful exam (p:s I don't like bad records)

Second week of April - got new admission letter for winter 2021

April to September - I kept hoping for appointment

September 15 - Enrollment for new semester started, but I ignored

October 8 - Miracle happened I received mail from the embassy for appointment

October 9 - I cancelled my vacation trip to Tanzania because I won't be back on the appointment date given by the consulate (devil wanted to double cross me but God no gree)

October 9 - I sent mail to school I wanted to pay for enrollment because I sincerely gave up on the quest. The school told me deadline was October 14

October 10 - I sent money

October 14 - Money hasn't been confirmed (see devils at work)

October 14 - I started sending mail and copied both necessary and unnecessary people from my school. Ema je ki owo jona meaning don't let my money burn.

October 15 - I was given a favourable response that the deadline won't affect me since I told them I have made the payment (yet my mind wasn't at rest)

October 18/20 - Enrollment letter was issued

Nov 5 - Appointment date (something unusual happened; The interviewer told me my block account wasn't fully funded)

Ahhhhhhhhhhh I felt like crying. Although I funded 10600 euros which was more than the stipulated amount because I had a premonition of something like this. Yet I was given a shocker...let me explain what happened!

After registering my fintiba account in 2019 (so you now know I have been on this for 2 years) the embassy initial started with 8600+ euros then moved it up to 9600+ then again 10233 I guess. My fintiba block account read 10233 as the blocking contract which I wasn't even aware it has increased to 10382 euros (if I am correct)

After the interview the BO told me to quickly make the necessary changes within 7 days (she didn't believe I funded fully)... On leaving the Consulate I switched my phone on and started browsing to confirm where the error was, I made the required changes to the blocking contract and immediately sent a mail to the consulate explaining what happened.

Note: I won't talk about my issue with Mr Paulinus...That man ehn!!!

Nov 16 - The embassy sent a mail I should forward my updated blocking contract which I did almost immediately

Another round of silent days I kept calling once every two weeks

December 16 - Approval Mail came and request to send my passport and travel insurance. I forwarded it same day through FedEx

No response again ahhhhhhhhh this people

December 23 - Got a call while eating amala from a courier man, I initially thought it was jumia ....lol but when he said from Ger....man I stood up immediately.

I received my Visa and my original documents

December 27 - I left Nigeria via Lufthansa (I don't want to hear say lockdown hook me for Naija)

December 28 - I arrived Deutschland

All Glory To God

Although it took two years but it eventually worth the wait.

In addition: while looking for alternatives I got:
2 Admissions in US (One with Tuition Waiver)
4 Admissions in UK
Sat for IELTS within one week of preparation ( Scores 7.5)

Can somebody shout hallelujah!!!

Congratulations brother. Please I would like to know if anyone has gotten appointment date and is going for studienkolleg

Happy New Year

I don't think your friend is right, the reset is actually real. If not it will be made known via their website.

Well, if it is also real, something as wavy as that would also be on their website. However, a friend who is quite conversant with Germany said it has stopped. Also, someone on this forum mentioned that he was informed of the reset via email. My personal opinion is this: if you have booked please wait until you're duly informed. April will come and then some updates may be given.

Good day everyone,
happy new year and I hope we are all well.

Please, I need some help and guidance on my journey to Germany.

I am currently studying English in a Nigerian university here, I also have b2 German or rather would soon receive my Goethe result.
I did diploma here in Nigeria to get admission into my university, and I was given English, I have also completed my 200l in that course. But I want to study law in Germany, can I use my English 200lvl transcript to apply? Can my former diploma/JUPEB result be used for my admission?
Or do you think it will be more advisable to try and transfer my credits to a German university and complete my English degree over there, then apply for law later?
There is also the option of studienkolleg, but the application exams and with how embassy is doing, it would just be a waste of time.
but with direct admission, I have the option of starting online here while waiting for visa.
please, I sincerely need advice. Thank you so much in advance.

I don’t think it’s advisable to cancel. I applied around September, I didn’t get a date so I cancelled. Now I have to apply again ahead of my next admission.

Can someone apply for AD now without admission and then apply for admission hopefully got admission

Good morning and happy new year. I am new on this thread and have gone through most of the comments and am in the process of applying to a school in Germany for my masters. However, I have some questions to ask, though some may have been answered in the previous pages, but going through them may be exhaustive.
The question are.
1. What are my chances of getting admission for masters as I graduated in 2010, and I have been working since then. Also I have a masters in 2017
2. Can travel with my spouse if granted student visa
3. After my studies can I stay behind to work 4. Is it allowed for me or my spouse to work when studying?
Please I need these answers so I can make my decisions as I am looking forward towards September admission.

Thank you

Happy New Year Patriots!!!

I hope everyone is fine, it has been a while.

I am not as updated as to the current happenings with Germany hence pardon the late responses to your emails.

I pray everyone achieves their dreams this year, myself inclusive.

First of, you can do your masters but you'll need to apply for a separate visa for your spouse. In the case of scholarship, provision might be made for ur spouse but provided that your finished ur Bachelors in 2010 u can't go for scholarship.
If peradventure you and your spouse successfully migrated to German, there are chances that you can stay behind for years after ur masters but you'll need to obtain your German blue card Which is tenable for renewal every 3 years.

Thank you for the response, but I still have some few more questions.

I know most schools in Germany are tuition free but I read something about block funds and opening account there.

How much money do I need to have for the block funds?

Also what type of visa should I apply for my spouse. Can both visa application be done together?

Hello all, I just got an offer to do MBA in IU, a private uni in Germany. I need advice please, the tuition is about the same amount with the offer I got to uk too. Considering the fact that I intend to go with husband and 3kids, which of this countries is likely to grant us Visa?? And which is the best choice generally?

You stand a better chance to get a UK visa compared to Germany. UK all the way!!

When last did you take your time to read through the pages of the German consulate,Lagos, about the student visa application?
If you see where they currently stated the resetting dates/periods as they did before until around second week of June 2021,when they introduced the one year waiting period for category B,show me.
If you like cancel your appointment, you'll likely queue at the back in the scheme of appointments.
Happy new year.

Don't cancel that appointment!
The resetting periods then, were they not 31st March and 30th September every year.
Why are people in category B,that booked in April 2021 still getting appointment dates till now,if resetting is still adopted?
I don talk finish abi write finish.

Good day everyone,
I want to use this medium to share my testimony and also give hope to those who lost hope in this process already,
I gained admission into a school in germany may 2020(during lockdown),was happy and never knew how challenging this would become, immediately I applied for my appointment under category B, October I started online lectures, was really challenging, cause I was working coupled with the fact that Nigeria network is so bad most times I get lost in the middle of class,I kept pushing, I did online lab, defense, project work.
fast forward to December nothing from the embassy I cancelled and rebook setting January as my resumption date. January came February nothing.I  met a friend here in Nigeria who is also a student in same school with me facing same issue, we sent couple of emails to the embassy, talked to my school to do same, the embassy didn't reply. we did some funny thing we send our documents by post to the embassy with a letter to consider us for interview, oga nothing, no reply.
We got a tuition waiver from my school because of the pandemic, so we taught that would work for category A, we canceled previous appointment and booked under category A, March we went for our interview, Bro getting to the V.O they looked at our documents check several times and told us we are not qualify for this category, I almost cried, I tried to plead ,nothing bro they refuse I left the embassy traumatised, disappointed, cause half of the money in my block account is not for me,if people ask me about it I will try to cover it up,telling them different stories.
April we got some information that they will reset the system,  we reapplied April 1st midnight, I applied exactly 12:am he applied 1am.we kept hoping.
There is one other friend I met online, he is also trying the Germany trip,  he called me that he got an information , by may they will start attending to people, I should cancel my appointment an re book, which I did ,told my other friend (same school with me)but he refuse, June came  nothing , so the same guy called and said we should cancel again and re book, I told him bro I can't ,July the embassy changed their policy that category B have to wait for more than one year,so I left it , Already I was planning to take different route, trying to pass through Ukraine  but this can only be possible if I withdraw my money from fintiba cause I don't have any other money to sponsor myself to Ukraine, the money in my block account, more than half of it was borrowed  . September I made up my mind that I will start the Ukraine process ,I applied for withdrawal of my blocked account I contacted fintiba also copied the embassy on the email, immediately embassy replied that I should cancel my appointment before this would be possible,it took me almost a week to decide that cause the other part of me was skeptical about the Ukraine process,  I cancelled I don't know what pushed me, so fintiba asked me to do some final verification before I can withdraw the money. Before then I met someone who I explained my situation to, He said he is going to talk to one of his German boss maybe he can assist so he advice I hold on with my block account withdrawal,  He spoked to the man,the man promised to discuss with the DG of the embassy, that the DG will be coming in 4weeks time and I should remind him. Felt relieved and same time sad because I cancelled already, fast-forward my friend I started the process with, got an appointment date. Was surprised cause I felt the embassy will not attend to category B anymore, October while I was still waiting for the 4 week, my other friend called me that he got a date'.o boy wetin b dis" i said to myself, I asked him how he did it he told me he sent a mail to the embassy stating he has waited for a long time that they should attend to him,he has done online classes exam, they replied him that he should send his transcript, he did and the next day he got a date. The day he told me was on Friday. I already book an appointment again 1st of October waiting for the German man to assist. That Friday ,reluctantly I sent a mail also to the embassy attached my transcript and other documents, hoping I will get a feedback on Monday Bro it wasn't upto one hour the embassy replied with my appointment date,I got the almighty appointment date, bro God did it, God took the glory to himself, the German man I taught would help, God didn't use him.  Now am in Germany.  I know my story will look boring or too much, but I need to explain this way so you know God still perform miracle, don't give up, you can always join NSPPD every morning pray talk to God he still answers prayer.I told God that I don't want to end the year disappointed, frustrated. God heard me and did it.
There is still more story after my interview,i don't want to bore you guys with my story the bottom line is believe in God and his process
if you still want to know what happened after my interview you can send a mail.
God bless

Thunderous Hallelujah my brother. I tap into this. Amen

Is it possible to have a successful Visa process even when your admission is currently deferred. Note i tried to re-enrol, but the school said i should wait until may. anyone with any idea please..

Enrollment is not mandatory if the school enrollment date hasn't passed. Just ask the school for a new Admission Letter first. That's the Koko

God bless
congratulations

Hello all, I just got an offer to do MBA in IU, a private uni in Germany. I need advice please, the tuition is about the same amount with the offer I got to uk too. Considering the fact that I intend to go with husband and 3kids, which of this countries is likely to grant us Visa?? And which is the best choice generally?

The UK will be better for you.
The guarantee you will get a visa interview date at the German consulate,Lagos,is slim.

Hello all, just read previous parts of this same thread and I found that some people talked about pushing from both sides. What I mean is this: most of us have admission from one university or the other. And we are also waiting for appointments. According to those people, we can send emails to the foreigner's office as well as the embassy/consulate (there's a separate email address). Some people said it worked for them.
It was a long time ago, so that's why I'm asking. Does it still work?

I have screenshots to share if need be..
