Good morning, all. I've taken my time to go through few comments I could. I've been so used to USA stendent visa thread, but it seems... I'll be through with my Msc here in Nigeria by April and I want to apply to schools in Norway for my PhD. Statistics is my course and a good CGPA. Who can talk me through this, please??

If you are sure you followed U S A student visa thread you won't be here.
You can secure a fully funded scholarship for yourPHD program with monthly stipends of about 2kdolls for upkeep.
easier because you are a fresh graduate.
try folliwing the thread this time more carefully

Who has an idea please, is GRE/GMAT a compulsory admission requirement for applicants seeking admission into University of Oslo
Re: Nigerians In Oslo, Norway by Sharon9914: 3:35am On Jan 21, 2022
Is it possible to apply to more than one school in Norway at ones.. of yes how do I go about the transcript sending for schools that only accept copies sent directly from school like Tromso university
Re: Nigerians In Oslo, Norway by uchechukwu007(m): 6:18pm On Jan 21, 2022
Quick one...probably to be aware on time and before hand to avoid surprises. What are asked in the typical Norwegian study visa interviews in Nigeria. Is a test given like in some embassies? What are the typical questions...someone with knowledge should help out

To the school's account. It is a requirement to be issued a visa.
If you don't send the money, forget about the admission which in turn will lead to a visa denial.
When you get to Norway and you open a bank account, the school will then send you back all your money.
Please after getting admission, do they usually give a deadline to transfer the funds? If so how long do they give?

Yes, for each school you are applying to that needs your transcript hard copy, your institution (school) will have to send your transcripts to them directly. One by one that is to say If you are applying to 5 different schools, your school will need to send your transcript to the 5 schools.

Now the confusing part for me is:
If you want to apply for 2 different study programs in one school, do you need to send 2 different transcripts to the school, or would 1 be enough?
Re: Nigerians In Oslo, Norway by lady25(f): 10:54pm On Jan 21, 2022
Hello everyone. Please if after sending the money to the school ,and then for some reason visa is denied, will the money be forfeited or sent back to the applicant

Hello, good evening.
I just want to ask about life in Norway. How is it like? Is it an expensive country like they say?

Have you finally joined your spouse over there? And again you mentioned something about your fiancé joining. How's that possible?

Thanks.

Good morning guys. Please, I was able to track my transcripts and discovered it arrived stavenger three days ago but yet I haven’t received any mails from the school stating that it arrived. Should I be worried?
Re: Nigerians In Oslo, Norway by Mykelslim: 10:27am On Jan 28, 2022
Thank you everyone who's been contributing and providing useful answers to questions.

I'm aware they don't accept HND and student visa is the most possible way for migration to Norway.

Here's my question
Are there 2yrs programs I can apply to help me secure student visa?

If there is, point me to the schools and courses.

Thank you everyone

Email the school. That's what I did and they told me it was received.

@ uchechukwu007, there is no interview. All you need do is submit your passport along with your documents and after their checks, they will notify you if your visa request is denied or issued.

@ KillerBeauty, when the school notifies you if you have been granted admission, they usually give a one month window in which you have to transfer the money.

@ vinlyreeks, you only need one transcript for multiple study programs in one school. The admission office of the school is the department that receives the transcript and it can be accessed by all the departments you are applying to.

@ lady25, if visa is denied, the school will send the money back to the applicant. All you need do is notify them.

@ toyin03, yes Norway is expensive compared to other European countries but at the same time their salaries are higher compared to those countries. Vaseline I buy in Lagos for N300, after currency conversions, its N930 in London but 1250 here in Norway. When you get a job and start earning their currency, you will realize life here is not expensive as you are made to believe as you generally will be earning well. Its only expensive if you bring your own currency and start doing all the conversions.

Yes. I and my son have joined my wife in Norway.

Fiance!! I don't remember mentioning fiance. Although I know boyfriends/girlfriends/fiance/fiancee can visit their partners for periods but its only applicable to partners of Norwegian citizens and I think that was just a different visa program during the lockdown when there were strict entry requirements. I don't know if the program is still ongoing as entry restrictions have been lifted.

@ anakinmike, I doubt as a student you will get anything more than a 1 month visa validity. If you need more than a month, apply for another visa category. But why will you need 8 - 9 months visa validity if I may ask?

@ Omini247, they cant deny you admission on that basis. So far you meet the requirements, you are good.

@ Mykelslim, their Msc programs are 2 year programs. Bsc, 3 years.

Nothing out of the ordinary per se. High CGPA but not in all cases. Because they have a certain quota for admission, what usually determines success in admission is the number of qualified applicants against the available spaces. And I know for a fact that they usually admit more than the spaces allow for because they know not everyone who is offered an admission place takes the offer.

@ toyin03, uwc. All the best in your application.

Can you recommend any affordable university/institute of science and technology?

Are students allowed to do part-time jobs?
