Why will Partey be struggling ball in such a dangerous area?

The Morocco captain should not have headed that ball.

Last 10 minutes of the game was a little higher in tempo

Hopefully, the second half will continue on this tempo.

Meanwhile, Guinea winning Malawi 1-0

Lol gidigbo they have eaten too much kenke.

Ghana have that attacking edge and are winning the physical battle's.

They are playing off the cuff, relying on individual brilliance , Ghana is rugged though.

Ghana is playing so disorganized, relying on their speed and strength against a technical Morocco side, I expect them to gas out towards the end of the match

Morocco too is playing poorly.

I am yet to see a well structured team in this AFCON. All the teams are too poor compared to how you see teams structured in the Euros. No cohesion, strikers are isolated, play is disjointed. Any team that is organized will score goals like hell in this tournament.

Ghana is relying on the strength and pace of their wingers/attackers Sulemana, the Ayew brothers and Paintsil.

Get the ball in defense, play long ball forward and hope the wingers are fast and strong enough to beat their man.

Hakimi is such a graceful player. Ziyech is missed, his play helped organize the team. If not for Hakimi, Kamaldeen Sulemana would be running riot on that left wing because the guy is too fast and strong.

Ghana are relying on Sulemana to progress them up the pitch but physicality will only take you so far, I'm expecting Morocco to tear into them in the second half

I don't want better, I want organized. I want to be able to keep possession for an extended period by playing short passes on the ground from defense to midfield to attack. I want a fluid team that attacks together and defends together. I want a team that plays triangles in the attacking third, a team that plays through passes.

Come to think of it, I haven't seen any through pass in all the AFCON games I have watched so far. I remember watching the Euros and seeing at least one through pass a game, inttercepted or not. That tells you how poor African football is.

Ziyech has been awful in the Moroccan shirt not sure he would have done much at this AFCON.

Algeria is the most compact team in the African continent.

This will not be a bad selection but, if I am selecting, I’d with either Awaziem/Ajayi or Awaziem/Omeruo and put Ekong’s behind on the bench. The bobo don loose form badly.

They say the tournament is not a little tournament...

Who watches a football tournament where no team can play a through pass? I've watched principal's cups with more creative play.

AFCON is a little tournament whether we like it or not.

How many players dey throw through pass for history of African football? Lol. Through pass requires creativity, if there is anything African football has always lacked, it is creativity. We have enough players with flair and physicality but the continent is lacking creative players.

This is why you should appreciate Sadiq umar and kelechi nwakali. They are genuinely creative players.
Nwakali creativity could make a difference in this nation's cup

North African Teams & Southern Africa teams believes in team cohesion & quick transition of the ball into the opposition's half. The Sub-sahara teams believes in skills, power & pace of their gifted players. Individual brilliance mostly do it for West African teams and team cohesion & quick transition of the ball is not really a priority to them. They just want to pass the ball to their most skillful talents on the field.

@TheGoodJoe
Believe me, Eguavoen's mentioned wing play won't last 90'minutes against Egypt. On our wingers, Chukwueze especially, has never had any good game/performance against North African teams ( for example Tunisia & Algeria). He's easily crowded out and choked of possession. Since they know he likes to dribble in numbers. Same approached i believed will be used on Ejuke.
Now for Iheanacho, though very clinical & constantly running on defenders blind side to do most damage but his first touch has not really improved if he's to support as a false 9. He's sometimes too slow in possession, his skill at close end in a 1vs1 situation is not deft, and mind you, he's heavily left footed. The so called crosses from the wings will be going mostly to nobody amongst our players because as it has been mentioned, we will lack presence in the box to bury the crosses. Mind you, if it is Zaidu that anyone expects to cut back or cross from the wing, know it's 1 out of 5 that he would get right . And chukwueze & Ejuke hardly cross. grin

Bastard is not enough, the guy is holding the national team to ransom imagine being 40 years old and promising that you'll be in the next world cup, guys like Moffi should have started their national team career by now

Please cool down with the abuses and doing that to Musa is uncalled for. He is the captain and playing the AFCON this year. So there is no way he will not want to go the World Cup and a hard choice to drop him.

Let us cool with the abuses. Musa has served well and deserves better.
