This is so messed up. You see Soko loan in particular. They are evil in that organisation filled with devil incarnates. And they believe that they are untouchable. If ee sure them, reveal your office location and see if boys will not storm there and deal with you. What sort of nonsense is this? And the problem is that it is we Nigerians that don't have sense that are doing this. You're doing a 40k job, yet you are making someone else's life miserable. I know some mumu Nigerians will be there supporting them. Banks don't even go this far to recover loan. There are better ways to recover your money.

A man has accused a loan app of announcing his obituary after he defaulted, WonderTV Media reports.

The man who shared the obituary banner on a social media group wrote;

lalasticlala
He who carries a ant infested firewood home should be ready to have lizards as visitors, dont go to the loan app to take a loan if you dont want them to do this to you, and you still have the boldness to default, these loan sharks need the money to survive, and i dont blame them for what they did to you but i blame you!

Oga, inasmuch as I don't support what they did, is it five days you are calling ordinary yet you cannot pay?

Ogbeni, go and pay your loan!

What if what they did to you was in their terms and conditions that you didn't read but agreed to?

After five days, you ghost them. Now dem don ghost you, you dey para.

Who still dey even patronise these scam loan apps!

You talk Nonsense, for staying at the corner of your room and you typed this?
How could death/ obituary announcement be equated with someone who is still alive?
Is it the first in history that repayments of loan or facility is being delayed?
The loan app is in big troubles and they should pay dearly for turning the Banking System into another thing!
The man should go to the Court ,get a good Lawyer and win the Case heavily and supposing he was sick, or even the System can delay,so you got a chill,eh?
Anyway,CBN--you see what is happening with your liberalism- APPS, rubbing Nigerians with nonsense advertisements all over the places!

Well that's just not the complete truth, if there's anything you should know about Nigerians is that someone that wants to pay will usually pay and those with no intnetion of paying will not pay even if they are given 60 months to pay. Ask yourself this simple question, WHAT IS THE INCENTIVE TO PAY?

For example a company is set to make 1 million Naira on a loan of 10 million Naira paid within 1 year. Even with a restructured payment schedule, the debtor failed to pay, as the debtor who just lost his job and is facing wahala from landlord and children's school fees, would paying the loan be a priority for you? As a loan company, what other restructuring will you attempt before realizing this is a loss?

In a typical advanced country the default rate is less than 10%, for 9ja I dare you to guess the figure....You'll be SHOCKED grin grin
That's why I said restructuring must be justified. It's almost in business cases where you are sure you'll get your money but it'll be delayed.
In the scenario you painted, it's salary advance that will do and any institution giving out salary advance would be assured that terminal benefits would be paid into that account. This is their cover. In case it's not assured, you can be given waivers to some certain percentage.Note default interest is normally stopped on such accounts pending recovery.
What the loan companies do is pure robbery, almost 300% p.a. and I have no atom of pity for them. They deserve everything they get.
On the issue of default rate, in a structured society like theirs, it's possible. What due process does the lain apps conduct before giving out a facility? None. Just download the app and get it. No questions asked so why won't they have high default rate. Why is it lower for money banks and not for them.

I got to understand over time that Naira landers don’t tolerate debtors. While agree debts must be repaid as agreed, I do not subscribe to the manner in which the loan apps attempt to recover their money. It’s crazy!
Re: Man Accuses Loan App Of Announcing His Death After He Defaulted by BOSMANARIS(m): 6:50am On Jan 12, 2022
Come to think of it, what would be the gain of the loan app for postong your obituary when they are aiming to retrieve their money from you?

The loan app was on their own JeJely, you went their to apply for loan (or Dem come drag you for your house to come apply?) with a stipulated time given to pay back, you agreed but failed to and even stayed extra 5 days without any payment.

If this business is to be yours, would you be happy or if every of their customers are to behave like you, would you think they would still be in existence to borrow you money.

Oga, go and pay your money and stop this childish tactics

How did you deduce they pay tax? Do they have physical addresses? They need to be regulated period. That's how you can be sure they actually pay taxes.

I am not in support of the said act IF TRULY, IT WAS POSTED BY THE LOAN COMPANY which i doubt cos I've once worked in one of tbe companies and i know what these customers come up with to not pay their loans.

They lied at so many things, some, they had accident, to some, their loved ones died, some would even say the owner of the phone you called is dead while some foolish ones will go to design or edit a receipt and send as their proof of payment.

Do you know most of these people collecting loan, aren't using it for any business to return profit to pay back neither are they using it to settle any urgent need. Most that collect loan, uses it for fun and they don't have any job doing that they are expecting money from o

They do pay tax , there is no finical institution that doesn’t have an addresses it may not be review to the general public hence they have , all of them have BVN , but the truth of the matter I want them to stop Soko loan they are the reason people commit sucide here and there
Re: Man Accuses Loan App Of Announcing His Death After He Defaulted by Dejido(m): 7:22am On Jan 12, 2022
First of all, these loan apps should try to understand that if these people have the means, they wouldn't be seeking for loan in the first place.
Atleast you give them a little time before all of this scandals and embarrassment starts to happen
Few days ago, I woke up to a disturbing message on WhatsApp, apparently a friend of mine has borrowed a loan and is two days late...like two f**king days late and you're pasting his face all over, atleast you would even let him default for half the time the load was granted to him(one week seems fair enough, this is Nigeria and we all know how tight things can get)
Bottom line, loan apps are satanic. Just die in peace and with dignity than you taking a loan from those nuisance...if you must take a loan, go to the bank, not from secondary school graduates that would be dragging you with bad English.

Those blaming the guy for not paying are insensitive...most of those loan apps, i believe have fee for each day of defaults which they stipulate...so if it five days...the lateness fees should be accrued on him not insult and wishing him death. Again, people collect loan just as dangote and nigeria dey collect loan...considering the plight of most nigeria, u dont blame who are collecting loan...these loan sharks are the devil

Run from shark loans... I learnt the owners of those apps are Chinese, but using Nigerias for operation.

In a reasonable society, Chinese can never do this to their own citizens. But here they are using blacks against black.

It always good to pay back loans. But this Chinese strategy is not the best way. Imagine some nigerians are even supporting this barbaric act
They do. Worst than the way they handle Nigerians.
They will beat you up and sieze your property. Disgrace the hell out of you.

Ive never been in the department to know what and what they do cos i worked as a customer service representative but do you know that three agents calling and sending messages are been paid based on target (the number of amount able to retrieved). While some are relieved of their duties for not meeting up.

My advice is, don't go borrow loans when you don't have a good paying job you relied on at the end of the month.
