The top goal scorer in the Swedish league is a 26 year old Nigerian.

But somehow not a mention of him Samuel Adegbenro here he has 17 goals in the league this season and counting. However, there is lot of talk about Amoo, who has not done as much as him..

The double standard and favouritism is not even hidden.

I actually did mention his forward of the year award in December.
TheLoneCitizen:
Samuel Adegbenro won forward of the year award

However, it is actually logical that Amoo is getting more recognition.

At 19 and in a more withdrawn role, he had just 5 goal contributions less than 26-year-old Adegbenro, despite playing less minutes.

He has no business in the team or on the pitch when you have Ajayi, Iwobi and Onyeka.

You can say Iwobi but the discussion is different from what Onyeka offers. However, there was something about that pass. It was just too creme. We need to have some faith in the technical crew. I am sure they have seen what Iwobi can offer too. It is a team and they all have part to play.

My take is that Iwobi is a cover for Aribo. Nwakali a cover for Nacho.

Okay but Andy, he quoted me. U gerrit?? angry

And yes, I know not everyone has the time to check on all the players. Even me, I just do the best I can.

Should not the fact that I have at least mentioned him a few times exonerate the rest of you? I mean, you all know I take it upon myself to cover as many players as possible and you guys engage with it as your own discretion. So what is this talk of double standards again? It's 2022 and it's tiring.

You are right .

Did he play yesterday?

He was only mentioning those who played yesterday.

And since his return, I think that is only the one he has dropped.

I'm sure if Samuel Adegbenro played yesterday, he would have mentioned him too.

Guy de hide some of this your slide now or better still mention him when others do not mention them.

Abi did you commission him to be mentioning players performance during their matchdays?

Football gives you little time.

That's why we have super subs.

Awoniyi came on and within 1 minute he had set the standard and tone for the game. You don't need 90 minutes , just 15 minutes and you can be the game changer.

He had time but did absolutely nothing with it.
You cannot still judge players with such minutes ,I will keep on saying this ,Nwakali didn’t do much but also didn’t put any foot wrong so why judge him ? Same with sadiq

Also, I want to understand something.

Amoo is a player who can feature at AM and RW.

Adegbenro is a player that can feature at LW and CF. His 17-goals season came mostly with him as CF. Do we have a CF problem?

Do you see why not everyone here would talk about him? It's because we have a long list of CFs doing it in the Big 5 leagues and also in Belgium we have another tearing things up like a mad man.

But in Amoo, we have a lad that can come and be nurtured to excel as an AM. Ofcos he would be talked about more coz we have an AM problem now!!!

Isn't it logical?

Bia Komekn, did you study logic in school? Damn!

We suppose dash other countries some of our cf grin

1st @bolded... Very intelligently said My friend. You knew who would drop in the event of an Ndidi-Nwakali-Aribo MF trio. Andrewbaba44, do you now gerrit? Like I said... keep looking only okay. grin Don't learn.

2nd @bolded.... Very true GoodJoe. Our buildup has been rushed so far. We make about 2.4 passes per sequence of play and also get upfield at a speed of 1.9m/s (almost 2m/s getting upfield in transition through the Wing majorly using the long diagonal balls tactical from CB roles). And this is why our attack overload in the final third is important since this is the route applied now.
And yes, that is why we played with only 2 natural MFs. It still worked nonetheless. And it is going to keep working until someone figures us out.

And this is why I want some tactical dynamism so that opponents don't figure out how to absolutely neutralise us if they cut off that long ball to Simon route. We gotta open up another channel of attack thru the middle for tactical unpredictability going forward.

3rd @bolded.... I agree to a good extent. Now in this theoretical set-up. The issue here is Nwakali playing further forward or playing him deeper alongside Ndidi.
Aribo is a beast close to the box. If Nwakali is Played further forward, I wouldn't want Aribo's licence to attack the box to be limited at all.
This is why in my mind, I feel Nwakali should come deeper to playmake as it is harder tracking a Deeplying Playmaker compared to a Playmaker in an AM position (unless he is always falling deep) while Aribo operates from the #10 role while still helping in defensive transitions.

Anyway, interesting times like you said. wink

Let's stick to the same XI. This up here is just for tactical variety and a bit more balance and dynamism. We move.

The bolded has run through my mind all morning but I still lie on Pellegrini's principle. He believes you keep growing in your system. If you get figured out, you still find out tactics to make your earlier principle work.

I see Eguavoen with a similar complex. If you close on, or double team, or zone mark Simon, I expect another dimension to our play.

1. The return to wing-back and cross.
Since crossing is Eguavoen's primary arsenal, with a compact press wide, a return pass to Sanusi and a cross for him will give our offensive unit space to operate.

2. The Half space exploitation
With the press on Simon, there will be space in the half-space for Aribo and Nacho when dropping deep to exploit.

I think the coaching crew expects this to happen in the coming games and are prepared for it..

Ejuke won't even start. Eguavoen will likely go with Simon again. And who won't?
And nutmegs without goal-creating actions or chances leading to goals is akin to Zilch.

Nwakali won't start either. But no crime in scoring off the bench. wink

Look, Citizen... I want a whitewash of these Sudanese. I want chaos unleashed upon them. But ofcos they won't make it easy. I expect they will keep it compact and deep so we would just have to force it into being easy.

We wait, time will tell.

Since they began playing football, Sudan have won 100% of their games in major competitions when they score first.

Nigeria on the other hand have lost their last 9 games in all major competitions when they have conceded first.

A contest made in heaven.

The truth is that it is unfair to employ Peseiro and drop him.

So, Pesiero takes over the role while Eguavoen goes back to his position. Eguavoen was told from the start he is interim. So everything continues as planned.

I don't even understand why Komekn is attacking Sadiq (actually I do from our history here but for this Egypt game I don't understand).

Sadiq even did more than Nwakali. Does he not know that? Nwakali only had 10mins and his only true highlight was setting up Ejuke in that counter transition move.

On 76mins or so, Sadiq was the one who turned away from the challenges of about two players to feed Ejuke , who escaped a challenge, for his first chance at goal.

Sadiq also did well keeping up with that counter attacking move between Nwakali and Ejuke that ended up with Ejuke reaching the opposition box. He opened up decently enough but the pass from Ejuke did not arrive.

He also did okay holding play up in some instances of play.

But yes, Sadiq didn't exactly maintain the same pressing energy as Awo in that game but he wasn't that bad either. Only that he could do more and this is what Eguavoen spoke to him about after that game.

But I assure you he did more than Nwakali did overall. Yet Nwakali himself wasn't bad.

So it's funny. Really funny seeing Komekn Still chiding Sadiq. It is well.

Compare how many times you have talked about Nwakali who you keep over hyping without shame, who has done nothing.

Samuel is the top goal scorer in the Swedish league and you talked about him once in October.

And you still trying to justify the UNJUSTIFIABLE.

Alright very well said. Not a bad tactical contingency to have. And most of all, I really hope Eguavoen and Co are on the same wavelength as regards this.

He and his crew showed true tactical superiority over a man like Quieroz. Someone who has worked with the Legendary Alex Ferguson. So yeah, let me just go with this....for now. wink

My expectations are higher than yours .

You may seek to enthrone mediocrity I do not.

When a striker comes on as a substitute he seeks to make an impression and bring quality that's why winning teams have strength in depth. He is supposed to make a difference. In the back of his mind he should be attempting to get the number one slot.

But Sadiq was shockingly languid and unimpressive.

Eguavon himself said Sadiq was DISSAPOINTING along side Nwakali and he was being diplomatic even creating excuses for them. Very few managers will shame their players in public but what he said was enough to know they are not SE quality.

But you have chosen to imagine something else.

Double standard and bigotry.

Compare your non stop commentary on Nwakali and accolades and towards Adegbenro , huge Gulf. There's is nothing to discuss.

Indeed compare it any other Nigerian player.

It is not just about being top scorer, else anyone who is not a CF wouldn’t win player of the season. It is about the impact you have on the team.
