APPRECIATION POST FOR JUNG HAE IN AND JISOO'S CHEMISTRY

LOL cos really that's the only thing that works in that drama. I get what the writers are trying to do making it a satirical drama but they went about it the wrong way, they went about it the hard way, hae in gave the dumbest answer ever during his interview cos I swear there were better ways he could have handled those questions and I mostly side eye the drama cos lewl *sigh*. Doesn't help that ji soo's acting is dull, she's not terrible it's just that she can't portray emotions well and when she has scenes with hae in that requires showing emotions other than starry eyed crush, you can see the huge difference between their acting skills even though hae in is even reducing his acting abilities to match hers. But they actually do have cute chemistry, noticed it from the press conference and I'm quite pleased about that. YG needs to invest in acting classes for jisoo or cast her in movies where she plays supporting roles next to veterans cos she does seem like she'd be really good if she can work for a long time with veterans. I wish she and hae in were cast in a well thought out and well planned out drama. This drama does no justice to their chemistry.

I haven't seen where to download Dr park's clinic o *sigh* it be all these 1 episode per week drama that be doing the most shakara. I mean why are you scarce Mtcheeeew

P.s : happy birthday to the love of my life Kwak si yang oppa, he's playing 2nd lead again next to seo in guk but I'll be patient, at least I saw him play lead not too long ago

My (hopefully) unbiased opinion : I love fx's song. It's like in my top 5 favorite fx songs. When I first started listening to kpop not a long of groups were doing electronic music so I was really grateful to hear this song and it has a special place in my heart.

Love ikon's song. Love the rapping, love the vocals, love how cool it is. The good old days when I could hear b.i in ikon *sigh*

If I had to score fx would get 4/5 and ikon 5/5

#flashbackfriday Part 2 (one shot)

Title : THE LOVE OF A BUZZ CUT

A girl (kjy) goes to a hair salon (iu's song is playing in the background, I have to dance small lol). A hairstylist and his assistant (kjh) go to her. The hairstylist says your hair is pretty, what do you want? A perm? Kjh seems pretty uninterested and looks around. She says a haircut. Hairstylist says that's a shame, your hair is really long. Would you like shoulder length? She says no I'd like to shave it all off. Both the hairstylist and kjh are shocked. She says she'd like just like 2 inches of her hair left and she'd also like to dye it.

A few minutes later (oh wait now mamamoo is playing in the background, I have to dance) the hairstylist comes to check up on kjh cos he's the one dyeing her hair. Hairstylist looks shocked and asks kjh "do you want to get sued?". Kjh says she wanted something bold and eccentric like a freshly squeezed orange. Hairstylist says you should have toned it down. He starts to apologize to kjy whose hair is now short and orange but she says I like it, i really do.

She's at home having dinner with her parents and sister who can't stop staring at her hair. Mom asks "you handed in your resignation at the kindergarten today?". She says yes, sister asked looking like that? She says I'm not that unprofessional, I cut the hair after. Her dad says it suits you. Sister says no, it looks crazy. Mom scolds the sister ya! Jiyeong! Kjy tells her sister "you're so honest". Mom says you worked till the end of the semester as you wished, now go to the hospital (me: uh uh is she ill *sigh*). Kjy says I will when I feel like it. Mom says jiyul! (kjy is jiyul). Jiyul sighs and says I'll go tomorrow, that's why I cut my hair. Mom says good girl and gives her more meat on her plate. Jiyul says dad I heard your company was laying off workers? He says yes but I was not affected, she says good. You must not leave until after I die so you can get plenty condolence money from your workers (me: Lmaoooo this child). She notices that everyone's mood changes and says sorry, I guess my joke was too calculative.

In her room, she looks at her savings book sadly and she has lots of pictures of hot air balloons on her wall. I guess she probably saved to go on a trip or something. She looks at the picture and says I'm most sad about you.

She checks into the hospital the next day with her luggage. An old woman who's also a cancer patient says why did you dye your hair gold? Jiyul seems happy to see the woman. Ahjumma says are you surprised I'm still alive? Jiyul says yes I'm so happy to see you. I'm sorry I forgot to bring your ice-cream, I'll bring it next time. Ahjumma says next time, do you still want to come here? If you get all better and leave this time, don't even pass by this place, it's bad luck. Come see me later, I'm still in my old room, my daughter is here to visit me, all she does is cry, I don't know why she keeps coming.

Jiyul goes to the elevator to go to her ward, she notices a guy and a girl in the elevator and quickly steps out. We see a flashback. The guy used to be her boyfriend for 3 years and he dumped her for the girl cos she's from a rich family who bought him a pharmaceutical store. Back to the present she waits for an empty elevator when kjh also comes, he has flowers in his hands and he's speaking to someone on the phone "NOONA I'll see you soon, I'm at the hospital..... Your husband.. OK" he ends the call and counts 3..2..1 his phone rings and he smiles, he answers "yes... I've told you, you don't have to apologize when you're beautiful, I'll wait at the lobby". The call ends and he says she even bought me a car behind her husband's back, she doesn't need to be sorry. He notices jiyul's luggage just there (me: ah, where'd she go?). He drags the box to the lobby looking for the customer service center and mumbling to himself that his problem is that he's too nice cos he could have just left the luggage. He sees a tag on the box with her name and phone number so he decides to call the number. At that time jiyul is passing behind him looking hurt, her phone rings and she stops, he also notices that she's the person with the phone he's calling. Oh omo she didn't even stop for the phone, her ex and his new girlfriend are standing somewhere in front of her and she's pregnant (ouch). Kjh is trying to talk to her but she can't even hear him as she's focused on the couple, kjh starts to get angry, her ex sees her, she's shocked and turns around facing kjh, he says oh you're the orange from the salon. Her ex starts to walk over to say hi, she panics and grabs kjh's arm dragging him and her box to a seat, she says I'm sorry please give me a few minutes, she tries to wrap his arms around her and they start struggling with him asking what's wrong with her, he's ticklish tho so he starts to laugh as she's trying to get her head under his arm. Just then a woman stops in front of them kjh is shocked and says NOONA! He removes his arm, pushes jiyul's head away and says it's a misunderstanding, this crazy lady just came and burrowed into my armpit, you know I'm very ticklish right? NOONA says "I thought you didn't like girls your age but look at you, still you should have behaved since you came to see me at the hospital. She leaves. Kjh runs after her saying NOONA let's talk, I don't know this orange...

Her ex and his wife are entering their car by that time. Kjh meets jiyul and angrily says was it because of that guy? She says what? He says you got dumped by a guy and took it out on your hair, I've seen girls like you, they'll be like AHJUSSI, cut it off like it's his throat (me: mumu can't you see she's a patient lol). She says it's not like that. He says whatever, you have to come with me, he starts to drag her. She says what is it, leave me alone. He asks do you know what you've cost me? I might need to give her back the car, she won't believe me until she hears it from you, so let's go. She says if you don't let go, I'm going to scream, for real. He lets go and says wow, you're annoying. She says I'm sorry about earlier and thank you for my box but sort out your issues yourself, I don't know anything about it (me: haba madam, you tried to use him now). She starts to leave and her ex drives past. Kjh says what, where you going to slap him or throw some coffee and bagels at him? It's good that you didn't because if you do that looking like this, he'd be thanking God for making him break up with you. She hisses and tries to leave. He says do you want me to break his heart, I'm a professional at it, instead you have to explain the truth to my woman. How about it?

He takes her to the salon during closing hours and wears her a wig, makeup and gown. He says she must come dressed like that to explain the situation to his woman tomorrow. Jiyul says you must really like her a lot, she seems a lot older than you. He says my girlfriend? Well she's a baby in my eyes (lol), she laughs. He says well honesty is nothing especially in the eyes of love. She replies sarcastically how lucky for you, you're so in love. He says by the way why are you suddenly speaking informally to me? She says I saw your ID, you're only a year older than I am. He says ya! 1 year is still big... She says age and love mean nothing to me.

That night she goes to her friend's house, the friend quickly calls jiyul's mom to tell her she left the hospital. Mom is not happy about it but jiyul's dad says he can understand Jiyul cos even after chemotherapy and surgery the best she can get is a year or a year and 6 months. Mom says but if she doesn't get treated all she gets is 6 months. I need that year, it's my fault she's sick, dad says stop talking nonsense.

Jiyul is spending the night at her friend's place, the friend asks how come she met her ex there? ("ex's name is sihoo). Jiyul says I couldn't even go into the hospital because of him, I hated it. Her friend (friend's name is eunJung) says well done. Jiyul says I'm ridiculous aren't I? EunJung says you're not. Jiyul asks why should I die? I want to know the reason before I die but I still don't know. Why should I be terminally ill? I don't know why I'm here like this.

The next day kjh drives her to sihoo's pharmacy. She's dressed in the clothes, wig and makeup. From the car she sees sihoo and his wife and she starts to hyperventilate. Kjh asks what's wrong, she grabs her box and takes some pills. Kjh asks if she's taking sedatives because she's nervous (me: lmao why so clueless?). Jiyul says I don't want to do this. Kjh says what, you're all dressed and now you say you don't want to? She says I don't think this is right, I must have been out of my mind for a bit... Someone knocks on the car window, it's sihoo. Kjh smiles at Jiyul and says it's too late. He opens the window and sihoo says I'm sorry but only customers can park here. Kjh smiles and says then I parked correctly, I need some drugs, I think my girlfriend here has a cold (me: oh so they plan to make him see that she's doing better without him). Sihoo sees Jiyul and is shocked. Lol they go into the store and kjh is basically having a blast pretending to be a caring boyfriend, he keeps patting her wig and checking her temperature. Lol sihoo is uncomfortable and even his wife notices and asks if he knows jiyul. Sihoo says she was his junior from college. Kjh says wow if you knew her then you probably knew the guy she dated, I saw a picture of her from 3 years ago and she didn't look happy. He must have been terrible. Sihoo's wife asks "you can tell from a picture?" kjh says yes looking at a woman can tell you the kind of man she's dating, I'm sure he was a small minded loser. Sihoo gives them the drugs and kjh tells jiyul to take it so they'll be able to go to the opera like they planned to. Lol on their way out a woman with a baby on her back passes them, the baby grabs jiyul's hair and pulls, off comes the wig and her orange buzzcut is exposed.

Later she goes to a public restroom to change out of the outfit, she washes off the makeup and calls herself a fool. Kjh is waiting for her, he notices that she cried and says this is why I hate kids, why did he have to drag the wig, so rude. She laughs and says he wasn't rude, he was just being a kid, at that age its OK to pull and tug at whatever. He says are you taking the kid's side? She hands him the clothes and the wig and says thank you, now let's go and explain the truth to your girlfriend. He doesn't seem eager to do it but says wow orange buzzcut, you're loyal.

LOL they get to the girlfriend's ward and as they are about to open her door, it opens from inside its her husband looking very angry. Kjh (his name is chihwan) pretends that he had the wrong room, his girlfriend screams chihwan run! He grabs jiyul's hand and they start running. Husband asks his bodyguard to run after them. They run into his car and they drive off. His phone rings, it's his girlfriend, he answers using the speaker phone cos he's driving, he says NOONA I thought your husband went to the US on a business trip? Jiyul mutters husband? Lol it's the husband on the phone, he says I canceled the trip because of you. Chihwan says AHJUSSI, there must be a misunderstanding... AHJUSSI says bring back the car, if you beg well I might let you live. Chihwan says I'm good at borrowing not begging and ends the phone call. Jiyul says are you a gigolo that steals from married women by seducing them? He says what? I don't rob them, I just comfort noona's who are lonely and I keep those who feel suicidal safe from themselves. She says so you are a gigolo or should I call you a player? An assistant hairdresser during the day and a player at night, you are unbelievable. He screams you're the one who ruined everything, if you didn't burrow into my armpit like a crazy person, none of this would have happened. She says so it's my fault? Well if that will put your worthless mind at ease, you can feel that way. He says you're not only rude, you're fearless. I need to leave you in the middle of this bridge to teach you a lesson... She yells stop the car! He says what? I'll really stop it... She shouts again stop the car. He angrily stops, she walks out angrily towards the ledge of the bridge. He says well she left on her own, I didn't ask her to go, he sees that her box is in the back seat, he sighs and says she left it again, I should throw this box away, he comes down throws the box out and says take your box, she's standing still by the edge of the bridge and he says what's she doing putting on a show... She faints.

He takes her to the hospital, she's still unconscious. The doctor tells him she has a brain tumor, she's just in shock for now, there's more but he can't tell him since he's not her guardian.

At the lobby, he's on a call with someone, he says he'll try to sell the car to get the money, the person tells him to just remain in hiding or seduce the girl with him, doesn't she have money? Chihwan says what money does a girl with cancer have? He remembers seeing her savings book in her box when she opened it to take her pills and says again what money will a girl with cancer have.

Jiyul wakes up and walks out, chihwan is with a nurse asking for things he can do if she faints again. Jiyul just walks past them. He says ya where are you going? I'm sorry I was harsh on you earlier, you were blabbing too much so I exploded. She says I'm grateful you took me to the hospital but you're so full of yourself, she tries to leave again but he blocks her and says eat something before you go, she says no, her stomach rumbles, he says sounds like you're hungry. She says ya! Didn't you hear, don't you know the state I'm in? He says I heard, you can eat whatever you want, I asked the doctor. She sighs and starts to walk away. He says I'll throw your luggage away. She stops, he says that luggage must be very important. He drags her hand and says let's go eat.

They're eating at a restaurant, she tells him to also go for a scan cos she's sure there's something wrong with his brain. He laughs and says you're the weird one. She says when I tell people I am terminally ill, they look at me either with pity or with discomfort but you look at me the same. He says so does that upset you? She says no its comfortable. They keep eating, she asks why are you seeing that lady, for money? He says no, for debt, it's the usual story, my parents passed it onto me. I'd have to work night and day for a month to pay the debt off. She says still you're a bad guy. He says I never said I was a good guy.

By the time they finish eating, its night. He takes her to sihoo's pharmacy which is closed by then, gives her a can of spray paint and asks her to spray the walls to her heart's content. He also has a spray for himself. She says we shouldn't do this, I'm a kindergarten teacher. He says with this haircut, sure whatever. She says I was a really popular teacher. He says OK teacher, you can draw a little chick here or something, he starts spray painting (awwnn he's a leftie, cute), she smiles and joins him, he looks at her painting and smiling happily and he starts smiling at her (me: eotteoke why are they cute, she's going to die, I don't need them being this sweet together if she'll die). He says do you know the most exciting part of a crime scene? She says what? A voice shouts what are you doing there? Chihwan says now! She screams in shock and they run away, holding hands and smiling at each other. Lol he drew a skull and crossbones while she wrote times table (Aigoo I can't with her)

They stop to rest and he says I feel much better now, she asks why? He says didn't you see how dedicated I was to the painting, she says so why? He says I don't know, I must like you. She rolls her eyes and replies sarcastically "why not just say you love me"? He says would you believe me, she says I don't have money. He looks nervous and says what do you take me for? She smiles and says a gigolo. He gets fake angry and she says thank you for whatever it was. I've never done something like that before, it feels better than I thought, now I know why little kids keep scribbling on the wall. He says you must have liked him a lot to be so angry that he's doing well. She says I don't remember, it's just that when I went to the hospital that day, I was asking myself why is this happening to me, why do I have to suffer through this? I was so mad and so curious. As soon as I asked myself those questions he appeared in front of me, like an answer. Chihwan asks are you still curious, she says why, are you going to tell me the answer? He says yes. She asks are you a crook or a player? He says see me tomorrow, I'll tell you then. She sighs and walks away saying what a player. He drives her home, she checks her phone and sees 32 missed calls from her mom, she sighs. He says 1, when you don't have anyone 2, when you don't have a car to run away 3, when you want to laugh like a crazy person. Call me when one of these happen. She says Aigoo you're such a player. Thank you for everything. Goodbye. She starts going in, he counts 3...2..1 lol she doesn't look back he continues 1 and half, 1 and a quarter lol she goes in, he smiles and says wow she didn't look back. He leaves.

In the house the atmosphere is tense, her mom says fine, if you won't get treated what are you going to do? She says I'm still thinking, mom says fine you think, I will decide, I can't just let you die. Jiyul says I don't want to die in the hospital. Mom says who said you'll die? A year and half is what the doctors are saying but if this works you could live longer, you Always did well, why are you giving up on life easily? Jiyul says I'm agonizing because it's not so easy, give me more time. Mom says it's my fault you have cancer. Jiyul says what are you talking about? Mom says 3 years ago I had cervical cancer, I had a surgery, that time your dad and I said we were going to Europe, we lied. Jiyul says why didn't you say anything? Mom says I was going to but couldn't, I gave you cancer, it's my fault (me: Mtcheeeew why is this woman talking like cancer is as transferable as chicken pox). Dad says even the doctor's said it's not your fault. Mom cries even if you all say it isn't I'll always feel responsible, if not why did Jiyul catch this horrible sickness. Jiyul cries it's not your fault mom. Mom says I'm going to earn more money and save you, please don't give up, you're a good girl, if you die like this I can't live on. She hugs her.

Jiyul is sitting sadly in her room. Jiyeong sneaks in to steal a dress from her closet. Jiyul asks when did you find out? Jiyeong says 3 months ago. Jiyul snaps "you should have told me". Jiyeong says mom asked me not to, by the way can I borrow this dress. Jiyul angrily says no, take another one. Jiyeong says I wanted this one, you're so greedy. Jiyul snaps "when I die they will all be yours, can't you be a little patient? Jiyeong looks sorry, Jiyul says that's the dress I'm going to die in.

The next day she checks herself into the hospital, they tell her chemotherapy will start that afternoon. She remembers the ice-cream she brought for the ahjumma and decides to take it to her. She sees a bunch of doctors and nurses run into ahjumma's room, she has no pulse and they are trying to resuscitate her with chest compressions and what not. Jiyul remembers a conversation she had with ahjumma, she said she wouldn't want to be resuscitated if she's about to die cos it'd just be unnecessary pain. Jiyul starts crying and begging the doctor to stop. She runs to ahjumma's daughter and tells her ahjumma didn't want this. . Machine beeps, ahjumma dies. Her daughter cries, Jiyul cries, she looks and notices that the other cancer patients are eating probably used to seeing dead patients. Jiyul walks out saying I don't want to die like that, I won't die during meal time.

Chihwan is in his house with his friend who's cleaning up the mess Chihwan made, friend notices the clothes and wig Jiyul wore and says what's this? Chihwan just smiles. Friend says aren't you meeting her, won't you chat her up? Chihwan says strangely I don't want her money. Friend asks why? Chihwan says that dying girl is strange, yet very loyal, her temper... Aigoo, she has no hair yet she's sexy (awwnn as he's saying all this we see flashbacks of their interactions). Friend laughs and says I think we should take you to the hospital. Chihwan's phone rings it's Jiyul, she says can I choose all 3 numbers at once?

Her mom brings her stuff to the hospital and meets her bed empty, she sees a note from Jiyul "mom I'm sorry, I'll call you - a bad daughter".

She's in Chihwan's car still in her hospital attire, he asks where she wants to go and she tells him the hot air balloon festival at another town, they get there but the festival has ended. He tells her she can still try paragliding as it's equally fun. She says no need it's not like I was going to try the hot air balloon for fun. He says then why? She says my nickname as a kid was Dorothy, because I like the wizard of Oz so much. It was a shame that Dorothy couldn't go on the hot air balloon that'd carry her home. She missed it, so she cries really hard, that scene made me so sad. I need to change from this outfit, people might think I'm crazy. She goes into the car to change by the time she comes out he's not there. He's gone to beg an old man that watches over the park to allow them fly a hot air balloon. He gets in and as he tries to grab her arms to help her in, she screams in pain. He tries to lift her again but her arms still hurt. She says Chihwan I'm sorry but can you go alone... He hisses and carries her, this time like a baby not just by grabbing her arms, he drops her in the hot air balloon. She takes her pills and laughs, they start flying. It's a really beautiful sight. She starts laughing and crying "it's real, I'm on it, i got on, unbelievable". She turns to Chihwan and says you know you're really cool right? She hugs him and says you're the best.

Her mom is on the bus going home, jiyul sends her a message, a selfie of herself smiling in the hot air balloon, writes mom I love you. Her mom strokes the picture and says so pretty, how could you smile like that, I'd miss you, she starts crying.

LOL jiyul and chihwan are in a room staring at a bed. He says nervously the old man at the park, he's main business is running a bed and breakfast, I asked him to help us and in exchange we'll patronize him for a night. She says no problem lol they can't even look at each other. Later that night, they are lying on the bed, both of them can't sleep, they just stare at the ceiling. She starts to smile, he asks why she's laughing, she says it's nothing. He turns to face her and says tell me, I'll listen. She says do you know why Dorothy missed the hot air balloon? He says I don't remember, she says in the book she jumps off because her dog toto jumps off but that might not be the case, Dorothy fell in love, she fell in love with either the lion, the tin man or the scarecrow so she couldn't leave and jumped off (me: lewl). Guess who she fell in love with? He says probably the tin man. She asks how did you know? He says he's the most handsome. She laughs and says you're right. I'm funny right, he says no, you're pretty, I'm going to kiss you (me: *melts*). They kiss (I celebrated a little cos we rarely get kiss scenes in kbs drama specials, I've watched over 50 and I've only seen like 5 kiss scenes so...).

Early the next day, they're still in bed, she's awake and in pain but he's asleep. She says I think I've found the reason why it's me. If I wasn't sick, I wouldn't have been able to meet you. I like that reason the most. Oh he's only pretending to sleep, he hears everything she said.

When the sun comes up, he wakes up and finds himself alone in the room. He notices her drug container on the floor outside, he's terrified and goes out to look for her. After a while, he sees her playing with some kids telling them the story of snow white, he shouts ya! Where did you... Why is your phone died? She says why are you shouting, she tells the children to go play and says they're the grandchildren of the man, they wanted to wash their face at the stream. He screams must you do this, You even left your drugs behind, what are they to you, must you wash their faces for them, What a busybody, why are you like this? He hugs her and starts crying "I should get my brain checked".

He drives her home and says do you know who loves snow white the most? She asks is it not the prince? He says the huntsman (lol I believe that too hehe) the queen told him to kill her yet he let her go. She smiles and says I rubbed off on you. He pats her head and says yeah you did, quite a lot. She alights and starts walking home, he starts to count 3..2..he shakes his head, laughs and drives off. She turns back to watch him drive off (awwn).

He receives a message from his girlfriend "I sorted it all out, come back". He notices jiyul's savings book on the car seat and says wow now she's forgetting all kinds of stuff. He opens it.

Jiyul is with her family, she says there's something else I want to do instead of treatment. I'm not giving up, I'm going to get ready, really pretty, are you going to kick me out? Mom smiles and hugs her, jiyul asks jiyeong to join the hug too, their dad smiles watching them.

A few days later, jiyul goes to sihoo's pharmacy, she's dressed nicely but with her orange buzzcut. No wig this time. She says I came to apologize for the graffiti, for bad mouthing you. He says it's OK, I'm sorry too, I was a coward. I hope you're doing OK. She smiles and says yes, I'm really busy, I'm really dating this time. He doesn't understand. She smiles and looks outside, Chihwan is waiting for her with bruises on his face, he tries to smile back and winces in pain, they both laugh. The endeu.

I would rate it 8/10. Tbh my heart wants to rate it 10/10 but I'll be fair.

WHAT I LIKED

1. The story, I like that it's a simple, classic love story, nothing more, nothing less. The only reason I couldn't give the drama a 10 was cos I know it would have been even better if it was a full length drama and some things weren't rushed.
2. The main leads, I loved their acting, I loved their chemistry
3. The fact that she did not die. Chai I was happy cos from the first 15 minutes I had already prepared my handkerchief.

Even though they didn't show us, I'm guessing she was able to get treated and beat cancer. I liked the bruises on chihwan's face at the end cos it meant he returned noona's car and probably got beat up by the husband. I would like to see these two in a drama again plus the height difference eotteoke my heart.

Like he didn't even really do anything special in that mv but it's my favorite TV appearance of his, especially the parts where he lipsyncs saranghae, I totally believed his face lol if that makes sense

7. This man needs rest, no acting roles abeg. The highest they should give him is cameo roles as himself taemin the musician.

8. Lmao until he and naeun come and sit in my front and tell me they are dating other people, I will die with my delusional ship. #taeun for life #idonthavesense. Lol but honestly these 2 played siblings in a drama and someone thought it'd be a nice idea to cast them as husband and wife in wgm? Aigoo. The madder person is me for continuing to ship them after all these years when I know idol relationships no dey pass 2 years
