If you are looking for some unnecessary argument to engage in, I don't have time..
Don't pretend like you don't know how the award works... You have been part of the nomination committee before....
Seriously ehn in voting for the best forward the first consideration for many is the performance of a player in the GWG.

Try say people should vote Nigeria's all time best forward and you'd see people voting Rashidi ahead of Obafemi Martins even though overall Martins has more career goals than Rashidi but for most people, it is performance in the GWG that matters.

How come the teams we played in the qualifiers of world cup seems to be pulling weight this afcon

Sierra Leone and now cape Verde..

And funny enough, people were of the opinion we could have won them by wide margin..

Now I hope y'all can see that the super eagles is the best team in Africa

I want Nwakali to start against Bissau. If he doesn't produce what Aribo has been producing... well it's not his fault, he is not on Aribo's level so you can't really expect the same performance.

I will bie happy though if he comes close. It'll give us much desired depth from the bench going forward.

Hold up, are you talking about Aribo's performance with Rangers FC or Super Eagles??

Are you aware Nwakali is a Nigerian HERO ??

The kind of disrespect he suffers here is quite unimaginable.....He is a national hero !!

Yes, we could have won them by a wide margin.

Compare our game without some key players like Osimhen to the nonsense we played with Rohr even when we had our best players.

Rohr was a good coach but even the best products have an expiry date. Look at Djamel Belmadi now. Guy was the hot cake of African football but see how he is expiring.

Why was Egypt was able to defy the weather and conquer Africa in 1998(Burkina Faso) 2008(Ghana) and Angola(2010)....bro north African team strength lies in Egypt, the other ones are jus ekuke trying to mingle with consistent African Heavy weight...it's not necessarily the weather

Nigeria also won AFCON in Tunisia in 1994 and Cameroon won AFCON in Morocco in 1988. So there would always be outliers in data analysis.
Most North African teams perform well when the AFCON is hosted in North Africa. It is not an absolute statement. They can still win it outside of their sub-region but they perform better when it is played in North Africa than anywhere else.

That is the point.

Cameroon are playing nonsense today from what I've seen so far. The Tunisia I saw against Mauritania will comfortably dispatch this Cameroon side, let alone us.
The game just started na
Remembered how we played nonsense in the early minutes against Sudan? Besides, cameroun already won the group, so you can't judge them with this match
When I said they would be a hard nut to crack, I didn't mean they were better than us, I was talking about the host and home factors.
Tunisia is good but we would easily outplay and defeat them(remember last AFCON)

On what grounds did you call Iheanacho a bad footballer?

You no even get small shame, you go quote yourself dey yarn beans, come wan add dodo on top am to beautify the beans.

A bad footballer that has stayed in top flight football for almost 7 years now, with decent stats every season, despite limited playing time.

You clearly do not know how to judge the quality of footballers
I should have said Iheanacho plays badly sometimes! He missed the last AFCON and almost missed the world cup! This is a fact! I know you lack mannerism. I won't engage you further but you need to work on yourself. Social media should not be an avenue to be rude!

Don't judge a team from its performance in the last group game if they have already secured qualification. That lesson we have learnt here over the years.

My opinion about that Guinea-Bissau game is not to make too many changes to the starting lineup. It is very important that we maintain consistency and win that game against Guinea Bissau. We need to continue to build that momentum and maintain that winning spirit, also for more team cohesion.

I think Eguavoen should maintain that same backline and Ndidi- Aribo Midfield Combo. One of the starting wingers may start from the bench and We may give Sadiq a starting role for him to fully prove himself. For me, not more than 3 changes to the starting line up and it should be in the advanced positions.

Cc. Icon4s
I know the line you are towing, which is to keep playing the starting eleven to improve understand and cohesion but I disagree with this line of thinking. Why ? While the team has managed to score some goals they are still not a unit , except for some individual excellence. Therefore , since the team , and particularly the midfield had continued to collapse we must continue trying different players until we find a better combination. Thanks

I just need to address this post, if not for anything, educational reasons for people to understand the tactics behind your statement.

VERTICALLY UP THE PITCH

This is what some people mean by playing with purpose. However, it is beyond advancing the ball up the pitch but breaking the opposition defense. Now, if you just move the ball up the pitch with passes, you run the risk of giving up possession. Not just that, you will lose possession. So, there is a need for back passes to:
1. Retain possession. You need to keep possession if you intend to break down the defense. You control the ball to cleverly break an organized side.

2. Exploit gaps. With clever retention of the ball, you get to exploit gaps finally created from it.

So a midfield conductor's role is to make this happen. He plays a big part in retaining possession, keeping the team's passing organized, and spotting gaps for the team to exploit.

Note, spotting gaps have to do with finding his own players in space.

Watch the masterpiece below by Barcelona and watch the art of keeping possession in practice and how they broke down a very organized Liverpool with clever play and patience.

Is the SE playing the same pattern as Barcelona did in that video? Yes or no?

Yes , they are and its not debatable:

Now , tell me where Musa Muhammad is and tell me why we need him.

Tell me where Bamgnoye is and why do we need him. If I recall Bamgnoye is an attacker.

Same thing with Chrisantus; where is he and who would he bench in the current SE set up.

Lets apply some thoughts in our thinking and shun making emotional responses. Truth is Nwakali was invited to strengthen our shaky and spineless midfield Ndidi , Iwobi and "world class" Aribo couldn't hold together.

Did you ever wonder why Ndidi came alive when Nwakali was subbed in ? Ndidi was playing like he had been tied down for so long....the best thing you can do for yourself is tell yourself the truth.

Alot of these English players would not qualify for ball boy if they were born in Africa!!

Awoniyi himself didn't really impress with almost 45 mins of game time against CAR in Lagos, but see how well he is doing here.

Sadiq came in 72' against Egypt, 82' against Sudan. That's 26 minutes of gametime so far in the tournament. That's too small to judge a player on, especially if he has not been given a chance to start.

Let him start. If he performs poorly first half chop him off and put Olayinka in as CF. We are so lucky to have a dead rubber game, let's use the opportunity well.
i want us to use the fringe players seriously, i just want to see what others have in stock

I have not said anything to you, and you are already crying and using multiple exclamation marks.

When you have nothing intelligent to say, the next thing is to start bringing up something that has nothing to do with the topic

You goofed, and we would never have noticed if you did not quote it to try to change mouth.

So, because he missed AFCON and almost missed world cup it makes him a bad footballer?

I will ignore your attacks on my person, because it is not the point of anything. It is just you being emotional because I called out your poor judgement, and that is expected.

Dem no dey rest most lethal forward. He has scored 5 of their 7 goals this tournament, and the idea is to seek total domination

You need to show your other competition that there is no chance for them, that you have no off days and you do not grant mercy. You need to instill fear in their minds before they even meet you.

That is one reason I need us to get all 9 points from our group. Make Cameroon no think say na only them come play ball for this tournament.
