IDENNAA: Keepers grow in confidence the more games they play. Disaster in the making is a stretch However, if it is any consolation, Maduka is a German Nigerian, so, expect him to come good |

Astrid4: If we have top player in a top club wey dey select when and where to play for us, is there any point to it? And will you ever get the best out of him? His call-up will be at the discretion of NFF and the coach, but for now, I no too dey rate am as anything, because once again, I've never actually seen him play for us. Great player in club, does not always translate to great player for country. For now, I am indifferent towards him, if he come or if he no come, na him sabi. AFCON would have also been a great way to boost his market, no be to siddon for EPL dey follow Watford chop L |

safarigirl: Hi Dear! You probably meant patriotism? I'm asking cause what you defined is not really enthnocentrism. Ethnocentrism is using your own culture/way of life as the standard to evaluate or judge other people's lifestyle. It is the assumption that your own way of life is the natural or correct one. It is a form of ethnic bias. According to Oxford bibliographies, ethnocentrism is a term applied to the cultural or ethnic bias—whether conscious or unconscious—in which an individual views the world from the perspective of his or her own group, establishing the in-group as archetypal and rating all other groups with reference to this ideal. 5 Likes |

andrewbaba44: I do not think Donnaruma was better last season And when faced with two players that had an almost similar season, I will only vote Donnaruma because he is in my club, because based on numbers, Stats for Stats, Donnaruma is definitely not better. Na bias go make you choose Donnaruma, not the numbers. Na wetin I just wan establish be that, and that is fine. |

WoundedLamb: Nah, I did not mean patriotism. Patriotism is related to country, you can be an ethnocentrist, but not a patriot. For instance, a lot of Igbo people can be said to be ethnocentric, but they don't give two shits about Nigeria. I mean ethnocentrism, because I do not think there is a term for it on a race scale, however, ethnicity is the closest thing I can think of, that can relate to race, that's why I used the term. |

Most of them, nothing wey pass sex for their mind, and nothing wey dey like sex for my own. Different values and beliefs. safarigirl: Well, I think your choice of word might not really do justice to your message. You meant the love one has for his ethnic group. Ethnocentrism, on the other hand, is the belief that one's ethnicity is the ultimate standard. Anyway, the most important thing is that your message is not clear. ![]() |

WoundedLamb: Yes, ethnocentrism is the belief that one's ethnic group is superior. Racism is belief that other races are inferior. Ethnocentrism is not bad, Racism is bad. My message is clear to who wants it to be clear to them. No be everybody suppose understand everything, sometimes, we only understand as far as we want to. If someone brings up quantum physics now, no be everybody go understand am. Your understanding is up to you ![]() |

Joezinho:Do you know that I was thinking of Jay Jay this morning. Guy, he had immense stamina. He used to be everywhere: deep in our half, the center, attack, left flank, right flank as in everywhere, opening up for a pass, sometimes retrieving balls, spraying passes, generally keep things going and he'd play 90 minutes. If only his end product matched his busyness on the pitch he would have been something else. Forget it, Ejuke can't play 10 not even necessarily like Jay Jay but any 10 at all This inverted wingers is a let down for us sort of. We have always had good crossers of the ball but since Moses left, we have struggled to find good crossers. I really do not like Ikedia type of wingers and that is how I see our current wingers. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Danielnino00:His drifting in-field is instinctive. Man knows that is where he belongs. And he's been effective for us from the middle. His interchange with Aina should be worked on as an aspect of our wing play. Shehu was one of those make-shift misfits of Baba Rohr. He should be saying bye bue to the NT |

Only to be hit with Covid on the eve of the tournament.. You want to blame him for feeling it's one setback too many? I certainly don't.. |

Grozny: Isn't God good? They were hustling to push World Cup playoff draws till the end of this month just so Nigeria could conveniently drop down to 6th in Africa and their dearly beloved Egypt would join the big boys in Top 5 They did not imagine AFCON would rubbish their plans. Look at Nigeria going up I pray Algeria and Egypt get matched for their own playoffs. 5 Likes |

safarigirl: Nope, permit me to disagree. Ethnocentrism is an ethnic bias. Judging other people using your own culture as a standard is a natural source of intolerance/conflict because no culture is a standard. You can love your ethnic group without being ethnocentric. Believing your race, ethnic group, etc. is superior is exactly what leads to racism. This isn't just about my understanding. This is a word that has a clear definition. Whatever different understand could there be? I'm interested to learn. 3 Likes |

andrewbaba44: Like I said, if you look at their Stats, na bias Clean sheet for clean sheet, Mendy beat Donnaruma. No be Mendy fault say Donnaruma no qualify for Champions League and no be Mendy fault say he no fit play Euros or Serie A, even Europa wey Donnaruma go, na to mark present. Let everybody hold their own bias. The two of them were leveled and the only thing that could separate them is personal bias. You prefer Donny, I prefer Mendy. |
