There are many lessons from this incident. I pray Mazi Madu and indeed all of us learn from it:
1. No matter how much ground you have acquired in the white man's land, your level or status, your BLACK skin colour is the first thing they see and respond to ALWAYS. So, before you do what you think is right in your own eyes, stop and consider, do I really have the stamina to go far should this get out of hand.

2. Once you leave Nigeria, be a student of your new country's ways. Not what is written on paper or shown on tv alone but the unspoken, abstract, 'read between the lines' realities the media will not disseminate. The structure of their society. What position is the black man, how are they represented, where do they live, what jobs do they do, how do they do them etc The biggest mistake is to get these answers from your fellow Nigerians. They belong to your group hence objectivity and honesty can be watered or misconceived.

3. As you rise in obodo oyinbo political circles, have a team of Advisers comprising PR specialists, Lawyers, police etc Had he got himself a team like that he would have been advised on how the call could be used for or against him. How it could be a weapon used by his detractors. His PR team could have spun it to project how he being an MP, is not above the law; How his call to the Police Chief was just to commend the involved officer's superiors of the impartial service he got and his paying the fine right away is to show his support for the men in blue. He could have gone live on social media to complement the officer etc

4. If Oyinbo people no like themselves, gossiping about each other, ready to snitch on each other etc shey na you Naija black man dem won like? No doubt our ingenuity, diligence and resilience will have them noticing us, but as long as you stay where they are comfortable with, you'll be alright. But try to give them an inkling of your ambition, they hate you further and will not hesitate to remind you of your immigrant history.

The opportunities this event could have opened up for him are enormous, sadly they were not utilized.

Stop calling ur country a zoo..... its not cool. Western Europeans countries many are poorly run including Italy and with so many social problems..... even in Turkey there were protests recently over inflation yet they don't call their country a zoo. Stop the self denigration and self hating....
