There Won't Be Fanfare At My Inauguration – Soludo

Anambra State Governor-Elect, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo, on Thursday, said that there won’t be fanfare during his inauguration on March 17. He said that funds for such would be used to address more important development issues in the state.
Soludo made it clear that he had adopted an open governance model that would guarantee transparency and accountability to Ndi Anambra; insisting that his administration would not waste the state’s resources on jamborees.

The incoming governor bared his mind during the inauguration of his 80-man transition committee led by Mrs Obiageli Ezekwesili at Golden Tulip Hotel, Agulu in Anaocha Local Government Area of the state.
The former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor said that he would move from the inauguration venue to his office and from there to the slums in Onitsha and environs particularly Okpoko community where he plans to clean up.
He said that those who would be appointed into the government must be ready to work as “there is no time to waste”, saying that he was determined to revamp Anambra’s economy and place the state on the global map.

“I’ll be heading to Okpoko immediately after the inauguration. I’ll put in eight hours of work immediately after the inauguration. Don’t expect fanfare because it won’t take place”, he stated.
Soludo promised to finish the works started by the outgoing Governor Willie Obiano and then initiate new ones; adding that he would source for competent hands that would help to develop the state irrespective of where they come from.
“If a Pakistani will give us 24 hours of electricity, I will bring him and make him commissioner for utilities. What the people care about is the services they get and not necessarily who did it. We want to get good results here. What matters is the result. Accountability is a must here”, Soludo declared.

On a general thought...

Our pple travel a lot...live far and wide away from home but don’t seem to replicate those beautiful ideas seen or admired else where back home...or rather they find it hard replicating those innovations back home.

Why?

More from Nnewi GSM Village Anambra is one of the most commercial vibrant state in Nigeria...
But it's so bad that Delta is enjoying Anambra economic benefit as a result of IPOB sit at home. Top Anambra business men are speedly moving to Delta state as an alternative to the senseless sit at home. I think it's time Ndi-Anambra should take full action against the so called sit at home to save our economy and status just as we did in the just concluded Anambra guber election.

If you want to criticise the sit at home, come clean so that those that can reply you will do so but don't use the innocent new plazas for such iberibe.

I seriously want you people to explain to me how retailers are moving to Delta or when a major company moved to Delta because of the sit at home.

BTW, why always Delta state?
Or are you people looking for ways to turn it to Anambra Vs Delta stupidity?

Why not Kogi that also share border with Anambra?
Or Rivers?
Why Delta I ask you people?

Wow! Looking good. That river shore needs a skyline. I don't see anything different from river naija and this river on the picture below. those markets, sand dredgers and Ose mainmarkets should be cleared to start building a look alike recreational centres, 6 stars hotels etc. Or else Traders will conquer and occupy that beautiful waterside with their shops, dirty way of throwing waste in the river. Chai! Not that rocket science.

Our children can’t go to school again., parents are sending their kids to schools in other states because of these miscreants who can’t sit down and reason like humans. Every sane igbo man and woman has placed curses on u pple for bringing bitterness to igboland.
Go ask Mandela and co if this was how they attained freedom.
Every action and words of u lot sounds like that of a lunatic to the ears of the sane. You can’t even heed to nor take advices on how to go about things...it’s either the bloated peeg in Switzerland giving one useless order or the shameless ones in the Uk and Germany tussling for power with smelly ego. Within a space of 6months, igbos have all become a laughing stock online and offline,we have suddenly lost every respect we used to be accorded.

The downfall is near!...one day go be one day. Bunch of miscreants

The sit at home order deserves to be criticize by any Sane mind. Onitsha sits at home from Monday-Thursday, because of what nah?
I have not seen where someone will be drinking posion for his enemy to die, this is madness. Schools and everything that is socially and economically viable is been rendered useless and some foolish people are supporting it. Do you know that more than 50% Anambra residents left Anambra on Sunday for southsouth and Southwest states? If you know any body that traveled out of Anambra on Sunday through Niger bridge; ask him/her how many hours he spent in traffic gridlock before he could cross over to Asaba due to massive migration out of Anambra.
The worst of it all is that the people enforcing this sit at home are criminals and jobless agberos who are taking advantage of the sit at home order to commit crime, covered by IPOB immunity
I'm sure you are aware of the two that were killed in Onitsha by mob, if they had succeeded, I know many people will be blaming their victims (whether dead or alive) for not obeying the sit @home order while they hail the evil doers (supposed ESN officers) for enforcing IPOB sit at home order.

If there is a way Nigerians can claim the oxygen in the air only benefits Igbos, they would say it!

If national infrastructure is built and it passes anywhere at all in the east, they would over-flog it as though it was something done specifically only for the local place where it passed.

I have NEVER heard the level of rhetoric on this Niger bridge about how The Ajaokuta bridge, River Kaduna Bridge, River Benue Bridge, or even the 3rd Mainland bridge benefits only the state where the bridge is built and not all the Nigerians using it to travel around the country!

Meanwhile, the Niger Bridge is built between 2 state boundaries! Not even totally contained within one state!

You are missing the point. Whether the whole Africa is using Niger bridge, it does not change the fact that more than 50% Anambra residents left the state on Sunday to escape the sit at home.
This takes us back to Chuba Okadigbo quote "If you are emotionally attached to your tribe, religion or political leaning to the point that justice becomes secondary consideration, your education and exposure are useless and you are a liability to mankind"
The earlier we call a spade a spade, and not a big eating spoon... The better for us.

You are totally right!

Not to mention that the bridge isn't even free. They have to pay a whopping N2,500 naira toll fee to use it each time! Unlike similar infrastructure, the local population isn't taxed to pay back the cost of building the infrastructure.

No 50% left Anambra for anywhere. I don't know what you intend to gain from such lies. What kind of lie is this FGS?
And the hold up at the bridge is for incoming vehicles not outgoing. That incoming vehicles contribute to the hold up at the ongoing interchange at Obosi.

Well, I see no relationship between the sit at home and the criminal actions in some part of Anambra like that Awada for example or Idemili.
For one, everybody is happy that two criminals were brought down irrespective of how their ordeal went. Those criminalities didn't start with the sit at home but will surely end whenever they are uprooted from their source.

Ok, who do we blame for the lady that her belly was torn open at Idemili earlier this year?
Or those robbed and those that will still be robbed this night, tomorrow and next at both places (Idemili and Awada)?

Those two places are already notorious for the criminal activities that go on there but nothing is done about it. One (Idemili) even house a police station that do nothing.
Isn't this one of the things they are fighting for?

In as much as everybody seem to have an opinion when it time to go against what they familiar with (which is natural BTW), have anyone asked why a full nation cannot be allowed to make a decision/choice no matter how stupid what they are calling for looks like?

Nothing of value is ever handed over free of charge. Everything has a price and that price is synonymous to its value.

Whether you fancy Biafra or not, if you are a human being with any atom of dignity in you, you will be asking why your nation is not allowed to decide what they want.

Let me give you an assignment today, you see all those European/progressive countries that most of run to Shamelessly, go and read their history, how they got the independence that set them on the right path. It always come with a sacrifice. You have to be mad, you have to act "unreasonable" to free yourself from your oppressor and sit at home is the most simple from what the Europeans did.

Until we stop blaming other people for our misfortune, examine ourselves to know if there is anyway we are contributing to our suffering, and put immediate stop to it; we will continue to suffer. I don't know about others but this is not who we (Ndi-Anambra) are.

Do you know what Genghis Kahn tells the resisting soldiers and refugees after he invades a nation?

He tells the refugees that their suffering is self inflicted. That what they are going through is as result of their chiefs not agreeing to peace. All aimed to make them blame themselves like you doing now. It kills the morale of those resisting and turns that nation to perpetual slaves.

This always worked on weak minds or those people say have a predisposition for slavery. After telling the refugees and resisting soldiers that, some after getting a crumb of bread from Genghis Kahn turn against their commanders, chiefs and nation bringing about a total conquest for the mongol invaders.

While falling for that, they have forgotten that they were independent before Genghis Kahn soldiers invaded. They have forgotten that who disrupted their peace was Kahn, they have forgotten that those resisting were upholding to their pride and honour as a nation.

So instead of saying we were not known for this and that, the question you should be asking yourself is "Who am I", "Who are we", "How did we find ourselves in this mess"

Those questions will bring you to the reality that you (Ndigbo) were independent before Britain invaded and forced our ancestors to a union (Nigeria) against their will. Then you will realise that challenging that forced unity like IPOB is doing is the remaining dignity left for the Igbo nation.

I agree with your point that most times our people do not care about the pain they cause to ordinary people. The way IPOB says "to hell" with the people and their pains, that sorry attitude is causing them to lose grassroots support.

The biggest problem with IPOB is that it is constituted by a bunch of illiterates and societal outcasts. Don't get me wrong, their cause is just and they deserve to live in freedom as equal citizens of Nigeria. But the attitude of IPOB to the citizens they purport to fight for is truly regrettable.

IPOB's lack of knowledge or ability to research how freedom fighters around the globe succeeded makes them not think and act strategically while nursing a deep-seated grudge against society. Thus, they feel they have the power to inflict pain on society. Of course, the Fulani-dominated DSS and army are also helping them to cause pain to the society. In fact, IPOB acts like a group manipulated by Fulani moles embedded in its decision-making ranks of the organization. Most of their strategies are daft and seem to be targeted only against Igbos.

IPOB operatives are too cowardly to disturb a Fulani man running around with cows on their sit at home day, but will gleefully attack a 75 years old lady being driven to see her doctor for a morning lab test. While some of these things may be carried out by DSS people disguised as IPOB members, the inability or reluctance of IPOB leadership to heavily condemn such actions makes them appear complicit in it.

It may interest you to know that the people are sitting at home not because they are in support of the exercise but because of fear of men of the underworld who come in disguise of sit at home enforcement agents. They are afraid of unseen enemies and rivals who takes advantage of the sit at home order to strike.
