What will a Sanwo Olu be doing on the Altar.... Even having a seat there.

The truth is that some things are falling apart. I don't know whether it's because of the age of our Daddy in the Lord. But his recent romance with politicians and other worldly minded musicians and individuals is raising alarms in the minds of his children both in Deeper life and other churches.

The protest is apt and valid

To some Deeper life members, heaven is only meant for them.
Some of them have forgotten that it's d same heaven that every born again Christian is going, not deeper life heaven.

I've known Nathaniel Bassey for a while nd I've listened to his music over time, I can boldly say he's actually called by God. He has stand d test of time in gospel music.

So Deeper life members still see Nathaniel Bassey nd Dunsin as sinners which are not fit to be in their crusade.

That's mean if Baba Adeboye nd Bishop Oyedepo should come to their crusade, it'll be something else.

Now I see d reason Pastor Kumuyi has to change some many things in d doctrine of deeper life before he leaves

So the gospel artistes that were invited to sing at Deeper Life programs are going to hell fire and Pastor Kumuyi is now one of their accomplice?

Can we differentiate what it means to have true knowledge of Christ apart from being inclined towards religion?

Mr Righteousness, I'm disappointed in you sir. You actually belong to those who think righteousness is only by the garment you wear, the way you walk etc (salvation by work).

As long as the pastor is not telling people to go against the principles of Jesus, the rest of the traditions can rot away as they should.

young man, I joined. Deeperlife in 1983 when I was just 5 years old and grew up singing hymns that have shapened my Christian walk today. But remember that all those years, pastor kumuyi never told us that singing other types of music that glorify God is sin, he rather recently, said that most of the laws and doctrines he put down was to control the people and make us keep to the modesty and holiness he has been called to preach. God is not angry that we sing praises to him anyhow, pastor kumuyi himself set down those laws and now that he is winding down, he has decided to release the people from his own bondage that God almighty didn't put the people. I am surprised u are protesting against music, why didn't u protest when the ban on television set (devil's box) was lifted? U enjoy watching TV now but u deprived us from watching TV as kids and missed out on so many great memories shared by our mates. This is 2022, Laslas na only u go remain for that church because all the young people will run away and by the time the last of the old ones die, church would have folded up, Rubbish. Kumuyi is right for correcting his errors, u protesters are crying more than the bereaved.
In one of his sermons, he alluded to the fact that he will remove many traditions before he leaves, particularly those bordering on marriage. Those hypocrites have driven many away from the church with their holier than thou attitude. My only concern is that this is coming too late as many of his pastors will resist this "change"!

So Kumuyi cannot invite a gospel singer just because he/she is not from DLBC or doesn't share similar views to your doctrines.

I can remember vividly when Kumuyi came to my state and he invited Panam Pacy Paul and others to be sincere it was a great crusade.

We should be careful on how we definitely holiness and righteous

Dude is an attention seeker and is not even closed to anything holiness or saint neither does Christ recognize that type as His follower.
Righteousness2 is a disgrace to Christianity. Believe you me the guy is not even sound in Biblical discussions and aspects of Christianity like Power to live a Holy life, Love, how to walk in the Spirit, how to live the perfect Christ-like life, how to be baptized in the Spirit. Jesus Christ dined with sinners and preached the gospel to them. Is it wrong for kumuyi to dine with politicians? It's not as if he was caught drinking alcohol or smoking with them. Could you please tell the worldly minded musicians & individuals he is dining with? What if he is preaching the gospel to them.

You holier than thou, have you preached to sinners and won souls? If you want to win politicians and worldly people, so you would walk up to them and start speaking right? Make Una apply simple logic whey Jesus take win souls na.

It takes a lot to do what Papa Kumuyi is doing now considering his pioneering caliber .

I am yet to see where he has erred with scriptures

Papa Kumuyi is moving at an amazing speed.

This generation should pray for the anointing of the open eyes, they are looking but not seeing.

You said some thought provoking things.
I tried to put myself in the shoes of the old members that were denied some things, I would feel bad because I know I lost a lot of things and missed out on a lot of things and opportunities due to the church's teachings which are now being changed. I might even be bitter about the changes.

sgtponzihater1:
This guy's have suffered alot, and this protest probably comes from a place of pain.
They were made not to watch television for a long time
They were made to avoid flashy cloths and things for a long time
Watching movies was out of bounds, except maybe mountzoin movies
Playing jazz, rock and dance music was forbidden
They could not attend other people's churches for music concerts, relationship talks, youth hang outs etc
Only for the Church to change direction 360 degrees, and introduce the same things they denied members for years, and for the Pastor to dine and commune with those he stopped his members from interacting with years ago.

This will be heart breaking for many, especially the old ones who have wasted years living in false modesty, and are now too old and too out of touch to reinvent themselves.

The lesson will be to follow God and not the way of man. As God is the only force that will never change.

Rubbish and useless claim

The introduction of new music to the church is welcoming
I'm in my early 20s and i must say we love it

Was born into the church...all of us

We tired of them 17th and 18th century hymns
The introduction was for the youth definitely...we cant relate no more to those old sounds

We don't even know the composers

Funny enough most time we dont sings these songs by ourselves...it always prerecorded in some tapes

If u think na lie go to any local deeperlife church

Personally i don't get move too much by those sounds

They old, music has changed over the years

But wait...who is the man tagging world musician

Don Moen, nathaniel bassey cheesy cheesy grin??

If church don tire am .make e get out now

Shey dem wan kill youth for church ni

Before na dressing code, hairstyles
Now music again...na wa o

If e no be.....boyz go japa soon like this..no cap

What could be suggested is that

The music should careful considered b4 introduction

I go church say make i worship...u go dey play one kind 17th century gbedu...wey gospel singers full naija and abroad undecided

The problem here is that your church spent years condemning other ministries instead of preaching Jesus. They created thousands of doctrines that were not biblical. They forgot John 3:17.
Today they are reaping what that sow.
Personally for me I can't go to a boring church, in God's presence there should be joy. Do you know it's like a crime to speak in tongues in your church? If you speak in tongues the other bethrens will be looking like you as if you just murdered someone.
