Chuks was actually sound to me. I think the coaching crew really worked on him. He made many right decisions, especially in the early part of the game. He connected with his team mates well, especially when he was in tight spaces.

If Chuks was sound Nigeria will not be over relying on Simon's Wing... It was the runs Aina was making that made Chuks look sound that's why I said Chuks played like the Fullback..

A winger is meant to:
- run into the opposition half and cross the ball into the box
- run into the opposition half and pass the ball into the box
- run into the opposition half and cut inside either into the box or just some yards outside the box.
- run into the opposition half and if can't cross, pass or cut inside then pass to the midfield or fullback..
e.t.c..

Anytime Chuks ran with the ball it led to a goal kick which means giving possession back to the opposition and unlike Simon who had at least 3 players on him, there was mostly one player on Chuks.

I'm going to crash..

The boys individually played well but as usual, the formation ruined it. 424 in modern day football is unacceptable

Time to sleep.

Remember people, always curb your enthusiasm

Football isn't 1+1. A wounded Lion is very dangerous when cornered Learn that about the Tunisians.

And take your L in peace. Insulting me or others with varied opinions won't change a damn thing. SE don loose be say Dem don loose

As usual, I'll be watching from the Shadows

I remain Darkelf

And lest I forget, stop drooling over fine boys. Especially if that person is an outfield player for the SE. It may backfire. grin cheesy

grin grin grin

Goodnight my brothers and drool-mistress

I already suggested that while we were still playing in the first half.

After we don chop goal, abi.
You guys would not be saying this if we had scored two of the chances we missed. It is always sweet to say all the things the coach didn't do and all the mistakes because we lost.

Las last, for me, it was a learning experience that will strengthen the team. Bitter pill now, but a sweet aftertaste later.

There was no support in the first half. Rewatch the match.

In football there's always support.. it depends on whether the player uses the support..

when you say support what do you mean

when I say support I mean players to pass to...

I felt for Iwobi because he came in with so much drive and energy. His presence would have given us the edge we needed. Unfortunately, we can not rewind time.

What was wrong with the ref when he obstructed our ball and waved play on? That was too shocking.

Well proud of the whole team. They gave their all and that is what we could ask for.

I was surprised too, for a basic referee task that doesnt require any form of interpretation. Omeruo just use annoyance, pulled the Tunisian player to the ground just to stop play.

We all know the boy is not cut out for professional football. He is not even average. A very poor poor goalkeeper. The worst I have seen for Nigeria.
Going to embarras himself and by extention Nigeria in the Epl is a no no... He should find a loophole in the contract and cancel.
Dude chill, he can learn a lesson from this and improve. Even Ikeme at 22 wasn't exceptional and was constantly shipped out on loan to league 1 and league 2 clubs in England. Also top class goalkeepers have days when they are comical from time to time and this should be a learning point to the coaching crew to scout for more players, not just goalkeepers. So many carpenters were present in this team that went to Afcon.

A winger must not always run with the ball. Sometimes he needs to make room for his teammates to operate.

Chuks worked with Aina, Iheanacho and Awoniyi. Made some tidy drops for Ndidi and Aribo.

Running with ball is not the only work of the winger.

bro...let me add that substitution at times is like a game of card, you have to keep your joker and see what your opponent will bring out.
Substitution is not something you just do anyhow. Your substitution might give your opponent a clue about your intention and after he countered it with his, you're back to square 1..Pep is one coach that doesn't make substitution anyhow, he will always wait for his opponent to make the move before he make his.

Oga, am not into this Man city nor European football club stuff, this is National team football where you do not have the luxury of another opportunity to remedify a lost opportunity.
Am talking of either you win or lose in a knockout stage you telling me about other factors. Oga off your mic..am off to bed. Good nite and have a pleasant less stressful work week ahead.
TheGoodJoe:

If you understand football, you will know football has other factors than win or lose. Manchester city was to win Southampton yesterday. I think we hit the bar three times. Sadiq's last shot was to enter. He did every thing right. The chance to Moses was clean. He missed his touch. Ndidi had a chance to bury from range but miscued his shot. There were other chances.

That is beyond the skill of the coach.

By the way, we did not play Sexy football. I wonder where you guys got this notion from. Eguavoen is strictly an offensive coach. Little time for style. Very direct with longball.

So I wonder what lesson you think he was to learn when you do not even get how we played.

If Rohr was our coach, Sudan and Guinea-Bissau may have beaten us... the only thing that could have helped Rohr is that I am 98% sure he would have called Dessers..

Nigeria lacked a pacy striker upfront and the only one we had ( Onyekuru ) he didn't play often..
