The difference between those Ghanaians travelling outside and some of you nigerians in Ghana is, Ghanaians are too intelligent to travel to places they so much hate.. That's madness

You are refusing to see the difference here.. People travel to places to seek opportunities.
People travel to places where they will get something good, not places they hate.

No normal human being will go and live at a place *he feels* its terrible. Not at all.

From all indications (your posts on nairaland) you seem to portray that you have zero like for Ghana and Ghanaians yet going back to your home country is also not an option so why are you torturing yourself this much?

Make sure you don't get BP on top of you mental disorder.. I pity you
You see one thing about you Ghanaians is that you have been conditioned to see either black or white and it doesn't allow you see things objectively. I can cite 3 examples of the many lies that have been repeatedly told by you Ghanaians.. 1, ghana police don't take bribe. 2, Ghanaians don't drive on the shoulders of the road during traffic.. light doesn't go off at all. You guys throw these lies around with impunity but the reality here says otherwise so if I come here to say "no, that's not entirely true" it means I hate Ghana. I hate ghana cos I burst that perfectly crafted ghana myths.

See where the conversation is leading to?

Which Ghanaians told you our Police people are not corrupt? "the emboldened" , is that what makes you go crazy about Ghanaians? ..

It's as if those Ghanaians you meet on daily basis really make life a living hell for you and nairaland is where you come to vent your anger.. You need to take your mental health seriously cos very soon you will go naked..
When you live among people you hate na mad you go mad, this no be science.

very typical of a Ghanaian with mouth and no brains.. who is the refugee? I've been following this tried and have been seeing the many feel good lies you people have been posting here just to massage your little egos.. somebody sa8d there are no containers at spintex neighborhood.. that is a fat lie cos I've lived at spintex and no there are lots and lots of kiosks and containers. The area around mannet, Michelle, Coca-Cola are littered with containers and kiosks. I know Roman Ridge and know it's a fat lie to say there are no container shops around Ridge.. there's even container shop around East Airport a few meters from PALACE MALL..
I wonder why you lie so much

You mean the Mannet Junction that you branch off to Regimanuel has containers, a place where there's no space for anything?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPBYQMuAMy0

Neither Roman Ridge or Ridge itself has containers
Here is a video of ridge, better show me where you're talking about

The Mwache & Mteza are nearing completion. This not Nigeria - where 2nd Nigeria bridge was first proposed in 1970s and is still under construction. Goodluck started working on it and now Buhari is about done with his term - and bridge is not complete smiley

Dont bet on 38km bridge - it aint gonna get built - where will you get 2.5B dollars smiley to build it

Projects in Kenya takes 1yr or 2yrs - we are not giving contracts to nigeria type contractors - but to chinese who get the job done.

Until African contractors build their capacity - it's better to outsources constructions contracts to Chinese!

https://www.businessdailyafrica.com/bd/economy/chinese-firms-now-capture-bulk-of-kura-roads-3692838

Transport Cabinet Secretary James Macharia said Chinese companies bring very skilled people, put offsite facilities to do pre-casting, work 24 hours, manage their cost component very well and are very fast in terms of making decisions.

For instance, the Nairobi Expressway launched in October 2019, is 80 percent complete.

The SGR -- China’s biggest project -- was initiated on December 12, 2014, and completed on May 31, 2017, 18 months ahead of schedule.

In comparison, negotiations with a European consortium to dual the Rironi-Mau started in September 2016 are yet to be concluded.

The italic above is the reason why your country will not develope and it people will remain poor

Build the capacity of your own people to do quality job and stop making excuse ....

You go to China to borrow, give the contracts to Chinese for them to take all the money away and then you'll repay the loan with interest.. This makes no sense and quite stupid

How do they take all the money smiley - you mean the road will be built with thin air? Kenya gov design the roads and comes with QS - we know the road will require this amount of earthworks, steel, cements - and we ask everyone to compete - Nigerians are banned - kenyans (local), international - name them - the best contractor WINS. He makes small margin of profit - NOT take all the money.

And what do we get - we get roads, railways and name - done to international standards - delivered very very quickly - and that immediately create more wealth for us.

Ever since Chinese came to Kenya in 2005 - our GDP has grown now nearly 7-8 fold!!!!!!

The contractor design the road and your govt approved of the design.. apart from local labourers who are paid peanut
There are no Kenyans involved..

The prefab concrete is cast by a Chinese, the iron rods, and prefab steel are probably shipped in from china at duty free and the additional cement bought from a Chinese.

Because you're ignorant. Kenya has word class road designs - and architectural firm. Our procurement rules will never allow Chinese to design and build the road except PPP. All tendered roads are designed by kenyans, enviromental impact assessment done and approved by NEMA - and the tenders for construction floated - with supervision normally given to local contractors.

For example start with GIBB Africa.

http://gibbinternational.com/about-gibb-africa
GIBB has been responsible for the design and supervision of construction works to the value of over US$ 1800 million in East Africa, Southern Africa and Middle Eastern countries. In addition, advisory services have been given for works to a further value of some US$ 3,000 million.

In 2014, it was estimated that traffic in Nairobi costs $570,000 per day. This is a significant amount and can be used productively elsewhere.

This road that will cut a commute of 2hours to 20 minutes - saving now maybe 1M dollars daily in fuel wastage - or 350M dollars annually - leave alone in time savings.

How is this a waste again?

every highway in all countries are built to class 1 standard which is the same across the world.
There's nothing like world class standard in road construction and you don't have to over pay for a class 1 standard.

All contractors present their designs for evaluation during contract biding and then approved while tweeks are recommended when needed.

Ignorant madness. Unless you do that in Ghana - which is possible in a ZOO smiley smiley

For kenya - the procedure is simple - Gov does need assessment - traffic survey - econometric

Then contract for designing the road is given out - every road is different - some are in swampy places - others in hilly places - designers spent time to ensure the need assessment are met- they nail down everything like your house architect.

The final designs become the tender document.

The contractors bid based on the designs - they have no power to alter designs - if there is need for alteration - it goes back to consulting engineering and design company.

The winner of the tender - construct - based on the designs. The consulting engineers supervise to ensure they strictly follow that.

Lame! madness.
You live in a zoo!
In any serious country - you cannot have contractor designing the road.
You have three actors - designer(architect of the road) who decide whether you need three or two lanes and what kind of intersections - and bridges, the contractor of the road and the supervisor (who can also be the designer).
Gov issue a design contract.
The designer tells them this road will cost you 100m dollars - will require this kind of bridges - etc.
Gov go shopping for money - when it get it - via budget or PPP.
It then invite environmental impact assessment to approve them project - if trees will be fell - contractor will have to budget to plant them etc.
It then nvites contractors knowing the road should be 100M or about - and the environmental mitigation required.
Contractors bid - compete for the road - maybe they get it at 90M or 110M
They start construction under the supervision of the designer.
If the road is very tiny like in Ghana - the gov engineers can supervise them.
Just40:
