The GFP ranking is fvcked up, I took my time to study the ranking my self and I discovered that the ranking is a child's play, in 2021 GFP said Nigeria have 2,000 armored vehicles now in 2022 GFP said Nigeria have 2,019 armored vehicles and this is not true because the Nigerian army alone received up to 300 armored vehicles not including other forces.. The total number of our active personal has been the same since 2018 while the nigerian army has been recruiting thousands of troops just last year Nigeria army alone recruited 8,000 men in the first six months and another 4,800 past out in November bring the total numbers of troops recruited to 12,800 not including other force and that's one third of the entire south African army.. there are many things that I saw in their 2022 update that makes me believe that Global fire power ranking is a child's play and one of those things are 1: ranking a declining South Africa military ahead of Almighty Algeria

What do you guys think about my investigation?

Who is this guy? So from the 2000 armored vehicles from 2020, none of em were destroyed? Is that what you're trying to say? Or from the men in service, none of them actually died. Stop this. Their ranking isn't accurate, but it is close. It's upto you to take it or leave it

For Kikuyi1 And Any Humble Learner

This is not a drill these are real facts. Is this some of kind of brinkmanship I read. I get it some of you want to be heard so you come here and reel out inanities begging for facts.

Listen young man get it into your thick skull your country Kenya can never outspend Nigeria on defence not in a million years except there ceases to be a Nigeria. How many times would different authors here and other experts in reputable mediums tell you Nigeria's cumulative budget is opaque. Please tell us how much China has as its defence budget and if the world's intellengstia agrees with it. Even when its glaring the acquisitions Nigeria makes outstrips what is on paper you guys still come here to measure sleeves. Their are Army procurements known but no one knows exactly how many and for good reason.

If you don't like my tone your condescending language brought it on. You guys can be so insecure and base. What is "homotional & school boy one-upmanship" about evidence of Nigeria's military prowess that are real facts. How much low can you guys go. E dey pain abi.

There's a whole configuration of elements that go into making a war. Buying shiny new machines is one of them the other being what those machines can actually do and the operators. Most of the arms the North Africans are buying cannot perform the whole spectrum of what they can potentially do because of restrictive clauses in the purchase contracts except for Algeria's which also has its drawbacks being mainly Russian weapons. I have said a lot about this over the years educating you guys mostly anyway for no pay just for fun. Nigeria's Super Tucanos are great assets better than anything you have flying in the KDF but clearly people now know what goes into buying from certain climes.

Nigeria has elements of national power that outstrips all of North of Africa combined. Its people, its resources these are what makes and sustains wars. That's why Nigeria's ongoing strategic shift of procurements when mature will bring in hard assets that counter balances Egypt, Algeria and any other African power.

South Africa is the only important country in Africa apart from Egypt that Nigeria sees as having any short term potential but in the geopolitical race for relevance it is clearly no longer a viable competitor as predicted by The Africa Report a decade earlier. It stands no chance. It does not have the population size nor resources both human and material to compete in the future which reflects also on its military. I can't keep educating you. Learn and grow up.

Seriously! The entire post is a perfect example! You go on and on and on repeating the most childlike assertions with complete confidence but say NOTHING of substance. Come with facts and figures we can discuss as adults! Smth like this earlier post I had on random per capita defense expenditure:

For 223k personnel across the tri services incl pay that's really low! Thats only 13 k $ per soldier per year ! Lets interrogate the figure with some comparisons. Compare:
Turkey has 350 k with a 22 bn $ budget is 62,850$ per soldier
Brazil with identical numbers has 27 bn $ 77100 $ per.
Pakistan with 650 k has 10.4 bn $ for 16000 $ per.
Mexico 277 k 11 bn $ budget for 39700 $ per.
RSA has 70 k with a 3 bn $ budget 42800 $ per.
Kenya has 25 k with 1.2 bn $ budget giving 48000 $ per.
The Phils' has 143k for 4.4 bn $ at 30700 $ per soldier
Papua new guinea with only 2500 spends 113 mn for 45,200 $ per capita per year.
Uruguay 24 k with 500 mn $ is 20,800 $ per.

The 1st world understandably has a wayyyy higher spending ratio

Italy 165 k with 29 bn $ gives 175,000 $ per soldier per year
France 200k with 55 bn $ is 275000 $ per soldier per year.
Sweden has 24 k for 9 bn $ for 375,000 $.

Looking at the stats Saffas can and should do better but that's not what the Secret Rulers want. PNG surprised shocked me ! They spend like us. Frankly, its a miracle Naij has accomplished so much with so little. I doubt anyone on earth spends so little.

Those comparisons are from OSI,ie ,the 'net. We and Saffas outspend you nearly 4x as does PNG. Fyi,one of the first things young niggas learn is don't ishyt talk people, especially those you don't know . The way you show constant contempt for those who don't slavishly agree with your POV reveals that you overestimate yourself, a recipe for endless drama and complications in life.

Back to the facts. While I've seen pix of new barracks housing it seems many if not most bases have a srs housing issue.

It is in the same despicable state most Nigeria military barracks find themselves. A tour round some of the barracks in the country is a revelation on the sordid state of the available accommodation and related amenities for men and officers of the Nigerian Army. From 15 FER Badagry and 243 Recce Battalion, Badagry to 72 SF Battalion, Makurdi and NASME Barracks, Makurdi, 20 Battalion Serti in Taraba State to Eburutu Cantonment in Calabar and Maimalari Cantonment in Maiduguri up to 3 Battalion Warri, the accommodation is not only decrepit but also inadequate for the teeming men and officers of the Nigeria Army (NA).
https://thenationonlineng.net/state-of-military-barracks/

In Nigeria, for example, many military barracks remained in serious disrepair even after the military spent almost N12 billion (approximately $76 million) on barrack rehabilitation and construction.39
https://africacenter.org/publication/obstacles-military-professionalism/

This situation indicates a very very real budgetary shortfall.

Mind checking your language of childlike assertions, an epitome of the vices mentioned above.

You might want to check yourself for overestimation, arrogance and pride and the concomitant effects because I'm doing good.

Defence Diplomacy

The Armed Forces of Nigeria and that of Sao Tome and Principe have expressed commitment to strengthen the existing bilateral defence collaboration between the armed forces of both countries. The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Lucky Irabor made this known when he played host to the CDS of the Armed Forces of Sao Tome and Principe, Brigadier General Idalecio Pachire who was on a visit to Nigeria.

The meeting between the two Defence Chiefs centred on the critical role which both nations Armed Forces are playing in securing the Gulf of Guinea. Gen Irabor pledged commitment to further tackle issues of piracy and other forms of criminality within the corridor of the Gulf of Guinea.

Other areas of collaboration discussed during the visit were capacity building of Sao Tome personnel, joint exercises and training assistance among others.

The Sao Tome and Principe Defence Chief equally visited the Nigerian Navy Headquarters as well as the Defence Intelligence Agency. Both Nations have long standing history covering diplomatic and military collaboration which has been sustained over the years.

- Nigeria is not getting any M346... Fact! Neither are you getting any Frigates...just LSTs... And not very big ones at that as well.
Negative. The Nigerian Airforce are getting those birds. The rumours were confirmed true in a documentary on the NAF in the previous year. Delivery was probably delayed but we'll get those birds.

On the Frigate issue, the Nigerian Navy in a press statement last year, which I personally witnessed in the Naval headquarters, Abuja said they've nominated a frigate to replace the NNS Aradu and are having "funding issues " in getting the vessel to the homeland.

Nevertheless, both services of the armed forces are focused on following the development plans that have been in place since the 2010s. The Nigerian Armed Forces is developing at a steady pace. Please let's talk with facts in our arguments.
