Will lift the state profile if well run and managed. Spot on. I like how Obiano made sure this doesnt become another white elephant abandoned project just like what I think is about to happen with the airport Umahi is building.
Anambra Airport is still a local Airport (even though its already better than most intl airport terminals in Nigeria), a bigger terminal will be built or even this one expanded when it's granted intl licence.
The conference center is perfect, it will finally push development towards that axis of Awka. Together with Awka millenium city around that axis, Govt should quickly take over that axis and build dual carriage roads before our people start littering everywhere with unplanned houses and hotels

Watched from the start to finish. Anambra international airport and Awka international convention centre are the two biggest and most ambitious infrastructural development in the history of SE. Anambra leads.

The current terminal is already worldclass and bigger than all the terminal buildings in Nigeria aside Abuja and MMIA, considering that it has several levels in the building.

Anambra international airport terminal building beats all the terminal buildings in Nigeria aside Abuja and Lagos international airports. On the Awka international convention centre, it is the best in Nigeria so far, even ICC Abuja doesn't come close.

Most sensible thing I have read today. When I said this was a domestic terminal and fit for purpose, some were arguing based on sentiments. There will be an international terminal later. This present structure was not designed for international travels.

ICC took Anambra government 6yrs, the project was flagged off 2017, the project environment is waterlogged, also remembere the project was halt for some months because the indigenous contractor that was handling the project doesn't have the capacity to execute the project, the contract was revoked and handed over to foreign contractor that built Agulu Lake Hotel, Obiano's government doesn't have much time to build the same massive structure as airport terminal except you want it to be abounded, however then new airport terminal is standard and was built by CRCC and there is enough land for future expansion, just like Akwa Ibom ongoing airport terminal.

Yes minister for transport Amaechi mentioned the successful concession of the onitsha port granted granted to universal eligion consortium.

Although this a good news as I have been following up the news of concession of the river port.

Now my fears are these!
What are the major terms in the concession agreement, remember since the FG owns the port they can determine the farthest it can go, meaning that FG can make it small like Bonny or Warri ports.

Also the beneficiary company is so new and unknown to the public we believe it may be revealed soon properly.

Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport, Umueri has continued an Impressive run with improved aircraft traffic and passenger numbers.

Information from the airport management says since the airport was approved by the regulator, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), for commercial operations, from the 7th of December,2021, up to the 31st of January 2022, a total of 376 flights and 11,860 passengers have been recorded at the airport for scheduled and non-scheduled operations.

Well, everything! Obviously, brands have become veritable tools for economic dominance and diplomacy among nations. According to Cee Cee Soludo, Anambra will seek to be part of world trade beginning from Africa with brands fit for the world. He implies that with the formalisation of the state’s hugely informal sector, Anambra will move away from selling undifferentiated commodities or ‘me-too’ brands to marketing winning brands in different categories. Quality that excites and delights consumers is the anvil for this Economic Transformation agenda of the Governor-Elect

Without delving much into the arcane territory of brand building, brands can be briefly explained as products with good functional and emotional features which consumers buy and use over and over again. Repeat purchase is central in making a brand stick. In the marketplace, a good brand speaks with one voice by not attempting to be everything to everybody. So leading brands differentiate their value proposition and segment their markets. The soul, personality, and tone of voice peculiar to the Anambra brands based on their essence or DNA need to be well thought through and implemented from the beginning.

The functional features of a brand is the building block of successful brands. They do not just happen. They go through the intricate processes of quality formulations, standardisation, and assurance. While help can be gotten from federal regulators such as SON, NAFDAC, etc, the made- in – Anambra brands must take some higher steps to partake in the highly saturated global market with rapidly emerging global consumers whose tastes and preferences know no bounds.

Robust quality infrastructure and policy frameworks are key in making the Anambra brands stand out in the battle for the hearts of the global consumers whose tastes change in split seconds. The state government together with the private sector will, in view of the paucity of quality infrastructure, take actions to implement standardisation, accreditation and conformity assessment services; these include inspection, testing, metrology, laboratory, market surveillance, technical regulations, and product certification that support the aspiration of the state in having brands that will delight the global consumers.

The pursuit of the foregoing admittedly will not be a tea party, but with a resourceful private sector and a strong political backing by the Governor-Elect who will be the Chief Marketing Officer, Anambra will partake noticeably in the lucrative global market.

It is ennobling that the Transition Team is working out the finer details of implementation mechanism and that the world is waiting to happily invest more in Anambra. Isn’t it exiharating?

The Eke awka market should be relocated there as well as inter state bus parks. Traffic congestion will not be a problem there.

Similarly okpoko in Onitsha would be better converted to an industrial layout rather than remain a slum.

Even with just 2 airlines Anambra international airport is already the busiest in the region. By the time Ibom, Arik, Dana, etc, joins it will be a big game changer in Nigeria's aviation sector

I totally agree with those who say the ICC should have been the airport terminal. I think accolades should also go to the commissioner for housing, I cant remember his name right now, but he knows his onions. I have heard him speak a number of times and he sounds very versed in his field. He oversaw the construction of the ICC. The airport terminal was overseen by the commissioner for works and the difference is quite clear.
