Abubakar was poor in the Semis, while Mane pushed his team to the final.

Only a person suffering from congenital stupidity and foolishness will insult another person's parent on the altar of football banter and worse than that is those who cheer him/her on while the fool is displaying such. Like I do maintain there are lines you don't cross in any conversation and unless someone is used as scapegoat this won't stop anytime soon.

I know 3rd place doesn't matter. In fact, personally I feel both WC and afcon should scrap it just as how UCL does. But presently, it's part of the tournament and if it is, then it's worth putting into consideration.

Aboubakar had 8 goals in this competition and 1 assist. Minus his penalty goals and he'll be still the highest goalscorer in the competition. Most of his goals are clutch goals and not just statpadded goals(either first goal, equalising or winning goal). Moreover he scored in 5 straight matches.

Just because of one blip in semifinals, then all his good work is undone? It's not fair na. After all, football is a team game not a lawn tennis and he's been the only one being consistent from day1 to the very last end. This is supposed to be award for the best player in the tournament not best player in last 4 na. And if it's the former then there's nothing that mane did to deserve it over him. Not even half.

I no see anything as Mane didn't sleep until the Semis as you wrongfully insinuated. From the group stage till they lifted the trophy, no match that Senegal scored in, that Mane didn't register a goal or an assist. That's how you drag your team to winning a championship and become the best.
