How many bank manager receives 2700 dollars a month in Nigeria without illegal deal? Do do you the pressure on as bank manager? Your work is not secured.

its not high paying. if you join an automechanic workshop in usa they start you off at 30,000 dollars a year. when dem remove tax you are left with like 20k. you cant even rent a decent apartment anywhere in a major city in america with 20k. sad

20k? Bros how is that possible? The average pay for entry level work is $15 an hour, 8 hours a day without counting over time is over $2400 a month. No decent full time job will pay you 20k a year after taxes.

And you can't compare what an 18 year old fresh out of high school earns to a grown man in his 30s or 40s that's been working for long. Pay is not stagnant here nor work level. No one who has been working for 5 years will be living on 24k a year except he's an unserious human being.

If you are coming to America, please learn handy man work like plumbing, mechanic, painting to add to your degree; you will hammer quickly.

You said it all

Nothing to be added or removed

Thats the mistake most make especially young youth shouting Japa japa japa everytime as if say e easy where dem dey go too undecided

As i always say, the best thing abroad good for is when you have money in naija and running business, just be going and coming back anytime you like in form of vacation but in a low key, thats the best way

Abroad aint as rosy like that, they just have good welfare, security and other social amenities which are lack in naija but yet its not easy to go and believe you start making money in large as it used to in the past decades

The world have changed really and even citizens of these said abroad sef are going through alot within them

If you know the number of Nigerians who had thriving businesses in Nigeria, and due to the whole ''oyinboland is better'' mentality, abandoned or sold their businesses, land, cars etc, and migrated to Europe or US, only to be working now as low-paid security guards and bus drivers, with no career prospects, you will weep. Most of them are too ashamed and broke to return back home, and simply continue working their menial jobs there.

Lesson: If you have a business in Nigeria, you already have what 95% of Nigerians in the diaspora wish they had - financial independence. Being your own boss. Do not throw it away to become a nobody in the west.

Sorry sir, that's ignorance.
To work security in America, you have to under go training, almost police like.

They don't just allow anyone to do any job in some countries.

Security is serious matter; peoples lives and properties are under your watch.

Most of these people haven't crossed Nigeria's border before, not even to Cameroon, yet they are the ones with the loudest opinions.

Everything in life is not just about making money to survive the necessities of life.

What happened to your sense of purpose and self worth in life. How about working at a job, not just to feed your stomach but to feed your hunger to live and fulfill your dreams.

Thinking with your stomach alone doesn’t allow one really achieve their potential, that’s why people would e willing to ignore their passion, talent and opportunities, to go stand at gate.

Beyond survival, let self actualization be your guide, only then can you make the better choice.

You can't fulfill any dream in life if you are not feeding yourself and taking care of your responsibilities like family , rent.

Making your dream come to pass is not moinmoin, which is most people never do.

Most people you see massively successful today except those born to rich families worked jobs first. Not talking about Nigeria, talking about the USA.

There is dignity in labor. No dignity in begging relatives and friends to lend you money or pay your children's school fees.

Bank manager in Nigeria, you walk a tightrope until they sack you. If you don't steal someone will eventually steal money on your watch and boom, you're out on the street, kids out of school, wife leaves. And you wont get the same caliber of job ever again.

In the USA even if you lose one job you can get another one reasonably soon, if you're hardworking. A functional society. Nigeria was programmed to ruin square people, it mainly rewards criminal activity.

I don't know why you guys always have the believe that it's heavenly outside of Nigeria. Do you think they're no poor people in the US

In the US, there're people who struggles to feed, pay rents etc so don't think it's all perfect out there.

It's better to be servant in heaven , than a king in hell. That is my answer. Will be a gateman in the USA and from there expand my horizons.

As seen on Facebook today and it looked like greater number of responders went with gateman in USA.
As for me, considering all factors, I prefer to be a bank manager in Nigeria. What about you? Any reason for your choice.

Leave them to keep saying what they have no knowledge of.

They think dollar notes are picked from the streets or plucked from trees.

I don't know why lots of Nigerians believe that life is heavenly out there where you don't have to break a sweat to get anything or you can get anything you want for free.

Yes, you must survive first, before you can live, But don’t in the process of trying to survive speed up your death.

That’s what happens when you allow, ONLY money and needs drive your decisions.

There is dignity in Labour, every where. I have artisans who work for me in Nigeria, that carry themselves with so much dignity , I can send them to a Bank Manager. And they are collecting thier money.

They don’t need to run to the USA to go and do what they are too ashamed to do here, because they are not confident in their self worth.

The problem is not so much location or environment, as much as it is our mentality.

Sorry but anyone individual earning 150k in the USA is classified as wealthy by the US Government. Infact any household earning over 80k is well to do, not one person o; husband and wife.

Check the tax rate.

How can an individual be earning 80k and be struggling? Dem swear for am? What is he doing? Using drugs and carrying $1000 prostitutes? grin

A practical experience about this.
a friend of mine has been a bank manager in naija for years, according to him he was earning over a million naira monthly, but three years ago he was sacked and things started becoming more difficult financially. He started some business but it was not working out as expected. Today, he is also thinking of migrating to USA or UK with his family. This is telling you that in Naija the system can run you down anytime because it is not stable.

ahhh you no understand the system ? that money is small but it is just that when you have a good job you have access to credit and loans. all those people owe so much money in loans that they are paying back. forget that illusion living oooo. the average household in america is 400 thousand dollars in debt. so all that good living na igbese. the salary itself is small. angry grin

to enjoy yankee well well with no debts hanging over your neck you must earn correct money oooo my brother. at least 200k a year

Mechanics earn more than bank workers ( infact bank workers are poorly paid except you are like an investment banker or work in Corporate banking) a bank manager here is on the same level as an ordinary worker. Retail banking pays nothing.
Mechanics earn more than people with University degrees.

Labor jobs like plumbers, mechanics and construction workers earn heavily here o. As much as $80,000 a year!!!!!

Plumber, mechanic and truck driver na blood money naw!
