Are you sure your mechanic got the right engine.. most of these local mechs are just quacks. I'll recommend you try Flickwheel where you can get vetted mechanics to fix your car properly

Lol, naso, but we are addicted...I've driven Lexus, Avalon, Highlander, they are really nice cars but I love my Mercedes.

I eventually took my car away from those bastards, took it a rewire in IB who deals with Benz only around UCH, the guy solved all my problems in just a day, it happened that my SAM wasn't faulty at all as those idiots suggested. He changed some things under the front rug and my lights, wipers, horn, trafficators all came back to life.

I've been so happy, now I can enjoy my Mercedes in peace.

All I spent was we changed three of those things, each costing 23k, he charged me 5k for Workmanship, I no even price am, I was still thanking him.

Most of these big Autoshops are useless.

They could have gotten a new front SAM for 260k as they said and that wouldn't have solved my problems.

I'd have left there with over 500k debt, I didn't spend more than 74k at this Rewires place.

My fan also stopped blowing aggressively non stop, it now works very fine, picks up once AC is powered on and it's silent.

I am in dire need of an experienced Mercedes Benz mechanic in Lagos.....

My ac suddenly stopped Colling properly. Once you start engine and put it on, it will chill well for like 5-10 mins, then reduce the chilling and blow normal air a bit and then repeats. So during the hot afternoon I can feel the air-conditioning dropping but I don't sweat, just a bit hot. But the things works very well at night. Infact at night my car is freezing like snow. It also stops blowing chill air in the night but of course the weather is not that hot for me to feel it. From what I know about ac, the compressor shouldn't run all the time, but my technician said it needs o be running continuosly, which I don't know if car cooling is different. He changed filter, and concluded my compressor was bad, that it's needs to be on all the time to chill. I also noticed a black thing coming out from the gas point where they refill if you try to relaes some gas out.

Most importantly about problems is getting the right solution and personals to handle it not necessarily about the money.

Look for a competent technician that understands a Mercedes very well to check the compressor, condenser and the evaporator either of these are faulty. I'm very certain your compressor is the culprit but the entire system needs to be flushed and if truly the compressor is bad you'll have to get a good one that has never been worked on b4, change your receiver dryer and if your pocket is deep change the condenser and expansion valve.

Some cars like my has their receiver dryer attached to the condenser so you can detached it so you will have to change the condenser if it's blocked. So if yours is same like my I'll advise you change the condenser along with the compressor.

AC is not something you manage money to fix o, if you're not ready just be managing what you've like that till you're ready.

Lastly, don't allow any technician to romance you with words, get down to the real problem of your car b4 you decide what to do.

And make sure you're in a stand still position with your technician when he's doing the job making sure he installs everything the same way he meet it.

I recently bought a brand new condenser on December, and I never drove that car since then. My technician told me I don't need a new one as the one is still very much good.

you made a mistake... Benz engines aren't to be washed, you clean it with damp rag or use thinner
