I think he goofed though. The could have constructed it differently without necessarily using "my", he could have simply used Nigeria. The use of "the" though understandable as he was raised British will definitely be misconstrued.
There's no goof there. We're the ones reading unreasonable meanings from what he said. Ok then why didn't he say "FIFA has approved the nationality switch"

Osimhen will never live up to his best potential in Napoli with a someone like Insigne playing behind him. That guy is annoyingly selfish

Osimhen won a penalty for Napoli.
But people said the only thing strikers should do is to score goals.

They also said the people praising him for pressing and other attributes (which should include causing penalties) should be discarded.

He was paid such a huge amount to come score goals against big oppositions and not ekuke teams in the serie A.
