You framed it wrongly. Now, you're sounding extremely dumb than before.

Tax are levied according to taxpayer's ability to pay. If you have a high income, then you'll definitely pay more and vice versa.

How does GDP affect me?

If GDP is growing, the government will use it as evidence to say that it is doing a good job of managing the economy.

Likewise, if it falls, opposition politicians will say the government is running it badly.
GDP helps government decide how much it can spend on public services and how much it needs to raise in taxes.

If GDP is going up steadily, people will pay more tax simply because they're earning and spending more.

This means more money for the government to spend on public services, such as schools, police and hospitals.

wrong... GDP goes up when people earn more and thus spend more.....not the other way around like you said above.

But there are countries in Africa where it doesn't and that proves the point. Population alone is not the vital factor in GDP growth but what the active populace brings to the table.
So you have to give the Nigerian people due credit there beyond the population arguement.
Also not all sme's are equal or of the same value. Aba for instance produces almost everything you can think of from clothes to shoes, bags, etc. but with substandard materials (which is what they have). They rebrand them and sell, not just to Nigerians but outside Nigeria, while they label them with the name of foreign labels or countries most time.

SMEs still lie in the population spectrum, bruv. cool
Forget about the ranks and differences in those business activities. Focus on the topic - population and its impact on the GDP.

I didn't say it does, however theoretically it's factual what I said if we simply look at GDP per capita

If you have a population that maybe rely on hunting or basic livestock majorly, where subsistence farming employs 60% of the working population and the others are unemployed, yet they are 200 million people. Would they still have a high GDP?

Are you being deliberately obtuse or do you just want to justify how your imaginary GDP is not rigged?

A huge population contributes to high tax returns, huge labor input, huge consumption rates, huge cash flow...... Name them.

In an African context, big pp plays a huge role in GDP. Population goes hand in hand with the economy. Observe the trend from BC to date; the dynamic in GDP growth can't be tucked away - of course with the impact of population growth rate. Nigeria of 1990 had a mere 95million pp with a paltry $54billion GDP. In 2022, your population in nearly thrice with 8 times GDP. Don't come with the invention and innovation shenanigans cos pp is the enabler of that.

The life-cycle hypothesis can also help you decipher the impact of population on an economy.

Yes, a huge population does not equate to a huge economy, but it is the key driver that greases the wheel for other economic activity - cos here, we talk of numbers.

Lol and you had to disgrace yourself. You are better off discussing imaginary pillars and carpeted roads. Somethings are not meant for your opinions, know when to read and pass.

did I say population is the only factor to economic size? No I didn't, however it is a major contributer, Nigeria is a poor county, same as Kenya and the rest of Africa as can be seen in your GDP per capita..... As I've said before, the only reason that Nigeria as the largest economy in Africa is because of your massive population....Nigeria certainly isn't more wealthy than SA, that's just the facts my bru

SA is the world most unequal country, with escalating capital flight, now that right there is the truth you should be more focused on.

P.s oh i forgot,SA is also very poor,so yeah go figure.

if u read the post that aroused ur response properly, u'll see that most of what u said here are there, but NO, ur rush to stupidity won't make u see.

High tax returns eh, but Egypt, like SA still get more from tax than Nigeria.

Huge labor... Yeah, if the population are educated or skilled, not when unskilled, that'll create poor economic output.
Huge consumption rate.... YES
Huge cash flow..... Capital NO!

Population goes hand in hand with economic growth..... Not entirely true.

Nigeria of 1990 and today's difference are wide apart like the space between ur skull and ur brain because Nigeria of 90's was like north Korea of today, military quagmire. U can't compare both economic development, u still don't have sense.

At the last paragraph which I emboldened.... It would've been better if u started with that instead of ending with it cos it makes u sound more stupid because u ended up countering ur own point.

You seem to be sailing in a vincible ignorance: a lack of knowledge that a rational person is capable of acquiring by making an effort. Please allow your puny brain to unlearn.

The ground of all this was population and how it affects the economy. I gave you facts - the facts which you wholly overlooked and chose to sound wit to an extent of contradicting yourself.

First thing first, you never mentioned anything in line with tax returns. Egypt & SA getting more tax than Nigeria clearly proves how elusive your stats are - or basically a poor governing system.

Huge labor does not necessarily depend on skills - unskilled labor also plays a significant part in the labor market - we should not ignore that. And when we factor in numbers, then the paltry economic value will breakthrough. Less and less fills the father, and that's where the population is turning out from.

Bigger population and cash flow: if you've disputed this, then you're a typical dimwit. Huge pp means greater demand and greater demand means huge supply hence the aspect of cash flows. Huge existing customers in relation to pp can trigger a great rate of borrowing & repayment. Don't forget the remittances by the diasporans.

Truth can't be in the division of half or quarters. There is nothing like "not entirely true." It's either false or true.

In your third paragraph, I can see comprehension is not your forte. Who said anything contrary to your statement? Or do you have glaucoma doing you?
In the 1990s... Your population was less than half your current pp with paltry $54billion - 8 times less than your current GDP. Please, let's stick to population. Shifting goalposts won't work for you.

The last paragraph was basically a submission to correct your poorly thought-out shenanigans.

Lol pls just know when to shut up and back off.somethings are just beyond your paygrade, you trying to rope yourself in doesn’t make you sounder smarter, rather it’s the opposite.it’s doesn’t change our perception of you cos your post keeps proving us right .

You just explained my point. But you messed it up on one thing - I think it's on the ground of ignorance. Dumb population has a little to do with the Economy - it plays a very minute role - you can categorize them in unskilled labor - but with huge pp, it can play a great role. I believe Buhari is one of the dumbest humans on the planet but generating high taxes, boosting your country's economy, right? cool

Arghhhhh ,can you pls just shut up.honestly I can’t deal, I just can’t.
