Oh you want the Lekki pictures and others. When a place is developed, it'd reflect on everywhere. Go to developed countries and see if you'd find any slum

yes there is bad slum in the heart of Madrid Spain, even worse than aba x2 the name is Cañada Real Galiana and below is a picture... you can also research it

That's not a picture of Lagos now...That's a picture of Oshodi (Lagos) in the 90s/early 2000s.

What is responsible for the obstreperous nature of Lagos today?

I don't want any excuses.

Small people with even smaller agendas…. grin

First, why not show pictures of the SAME place (ie, Carter Bridge) then and now…
And why show an OLD picture of Oshodi (pre-Fashola) and FALSELY pass it off as “today”?!

OSHODI 1990s versus OSHODI TODAY (see below)

Perhaps because the OP posted a picture from the 1990s and FALSELY (mis) labeled it as Lagos of “today”…
There’s NO rational definition of “today” that extends BACKWARDS to 30 years ago, so what’s the real agendum?! shocked

we have some cities that are more populous and organized than Lagos.

Tokyo (Population: 37,435,191)
Delhi (Population: 29,399,141)
Shanghai (Population: 26,317,104
................................................................................
Remarkably, all cities cited by you are coincidentally their country's respective national capital cities!
Tokyo- Japan's seat of government;
New Delhi- India's national capital city;
Shanghai- China's 3rd largest regional capital city;

Since IBB relocated Nigeria's national capital city to F.C.T, Abuja; saddle of responsibilities rested on the State Government.

Knowingly, no State is richer than the Federal Government, in Nigeria.

Part of Lagos, captured above, depicts FEDERAL ADMINISTRATIVE ZONE OF LAGOS. Which is the Victoria Island Bridge!

Nevertheless, Lagos, is still the unrivalled 5th largest economy of Africa.

Once-upon-a time, on this Nairaland, a 90s' generation kid, juxtaposed Onitsha town, as more sophisticated than LAGOS!!!

Whatever, from professional view, I think Nigeria's capital relocation to Abuja, did stemmed city growth & planning of Lagos State.

God bless you.

Lagos wey every road users this day dey act like psycho now compare to the olden days...

The real issue is the system allows untrained drivers on our roads and people don't submit themselves to constituted authority.

Of all the pictures of present-day Lagos out there, you had to pick an unflattering one? What's your real agenda?

The second picture is approximately in the same general area as the first.
Instead of worrying about the real agenda, should you not worry about ThiefNuibu and his rogue proxy governors who have failed to deliver a light rail for 20 million Lagosians since 1999?
Following your logic, what is the agenda of rating agencies that rank Lagos as one of the worst global cities

What makes us justify the rogues who are looting us silly and forcing people to japa? Are we a cursed people, or we are just being lazy youths

When ThiefNuibu is ruining Lagos with MC Oluomo, what do you expect?
Ibadan is going there too with Makinde’s use of Auxiliary, just like Kabaka in Benin.
Why do we allow illiterate agberos to be our decision makers

Your picture of "modern" Lagos isn't exactly recent. That picture is at least 15 years old.

Like someone said, come out and state your real agenda.
Well said! That second pic is of
the old Oshodi traffic gridlock many
years back before the cerebral
Gov. Raji Fasola cleared the traffic and beautified that part of Oshodi with flowers and hedges.

The OP is very mischievious and ignorant about today's Lagos
otherwise the boy would not have used that very old picture.

too many Yorubas (especially the youths) are too dumb to understand where the problems are coming from and what's killing them; to them everything is Tinubu's fault ( thank God for that man, if it wasn't for that man, just that one man who stood up and fought back, we Yorubas would have been eating grass); heavy unregulated mass migration from the east thats what is killing we Yorubas; can you imagine 70% of France moving into Britain? not even developed countries can handle those levels of migration; its the reason why housing is so expensive, its the reason why there are no jobs, its the reason why food is so expensive, its the reason why traffic is a hell, its the reason why theres high crime rate, its the reason why everywhere looks so chaotic, its the major reason why Yorubas your life is a hell, can you imagine what would happen if just 3% of Ibadans decide to move into Enugu, i can assure you they won't allow it yet this is what Yoruba are enduring without complaining.......if Tinubu hadn't worked hard to increase the IGR of that state just imagine what life would have been like.

The longer Nigeria moved away from their colonial masters the harder it has become for Nigeria to maintain a organised society.

In the 1960s there was still a semblance of colonial organisation with the Nigerian civil servant that have worked under British management, by the 1970s the "Nigerianation" of the civil service has resulted in the complete breakdown of organisation in Nigeria.

Simple enforcement of traffic regulation is the responsibility of the the state civil servant to clear market stalls on the pavement.

Below na d current picture of traffic in Lasgidi
My exact thought when I saw the pics he used, in as much as it is close to what is obtainable as of today, that pics with all the molues in it represents the 90s traffic. Today traffic in Lagos should have a images of BRTs, mostly private cars with some used as Uber and less yellow taxis, trucks with containers and the ever present danfos but no molues. @ God1000

When Jakande did not steal money from the people in the form of huge IGR like Thiefnuibu, how was Lagos?
With free education, clinics & hospitals, low cost housing, water, LASU etc.
Maybe you are not a true Lagosian, just an Atohunrinwa like the Iragbiji man who has turned himself to the Lagos landlord
