Daviduch19: It’s important you don’t try to show the VO any document except you are asked to. You made the mistake twice, by trying to forcibly make the VO see those documents, you are giving him a reason to doubt your story. Also, your brother-in-law sponsoring your whole family doesn’t really sail. Travel history is not a denial reason on it’s own. My two cents. 10 Likes 1 Share |

The V.O. are trained to detect "JAPA mode in visa application". Even if you want to Japa try to make it look legit. You have not travelled out before and the first time you want to travel out it's usa, on a study sponsored by your brother-in- law. My take. 1. You should have applied alone and use your family as home tie. 2. Your funding is suspicious your brother inlaw should have transferred the fund to you if it's genuine or get a loan. I wish u best of luck next time. And thanks for sharing 7 Likes 3 Shares |

Daviduch19: Sorry for the denial Sir. My 2cents: How can your BROTHER IN-LAW be your sponsor? Even to ‘us’ here it ain’t sounding well. Why can’t you act up and maybe be part of your own sponsor (even if it is small inside your COA). I mean, you are going with your own family, “Wetin concern your in-law; him no get his own fam?” “Him no fit sponsor, his sister; why YOU?” and/or ofc kindly change him (sponsor) to your uncle (direct relation) when ask next time (yeah, don’t change the name or SOA). and/or Check out all these loan organizations, Mpower and co. And why can’t the F2 stay behind (for now) and apply after months of the F1 getting his own. Goodluck boss! 9 Likes 2 Shares |

Bosses in the house please help. I got an emergency appointment in January but was denied, now my resumption on the new I-20 issued is April and almost 60 days to the new resumption. My question now is, can I still apply for emergency appointment? Thanks in anticipation of your response(s) 1 Like |

Doubuzofficial: Okay, even if the politician is the father, as long as he can state clearly why he will sponsor him, it's fine. So let me give one example. A male student is going for a MSc program that cost $40,000 with no funding. Then he went to the embassy and the VO asked "who's your sponsor?" And he said, "my dad who's a politician is sponsoring". Then the VO says, "Why would he sponsor you?" 1. What will be your response if you are the student? 2. If the VO then ask for the statement of account, will the amount be able to fund the problem? So it doesn't matter who's sponsoring as long as you can state clearly why the person will sponsor such a huge amount and the kind of job that will also fuel that amount. |

Let's not be too harsh on people who don't give out full information while sharing their transcript. Before you judge me, read this: "I shared my whole details with a friend, trying to guide her through how I secured admission to a school, the professors I reached out to....., and i was back stabbed." "The person went behind my back to contact my professor to take him instead of me. I almost lost the admission and my full funding because of this." This is not a story. It happened late last year. So, let's not be too harsh, let's respect the limit to which people want to share their details. Thanks. 16 Likes 3 Shares |

Mille: Today I got a shocker from URI graduate school that my Msc does not meet the minimum graduate requirement of a 3.0. Hence, they will be overriding my supervisor and sending me a PhD rejection letter. After some back and forth, the graduate school's decision stands. It is laughable because I am applying with a French grade of 14.3/20. In all universities in Canada and the USA where international grade equivalencies is visible on their websites, a 14/20 grade is at least an A- or a 3.7. Even for WES and Scholaro, it is a perfect 4.0. I understand it is done course by course, but there is no way it will be less than a 3.0. https://www.scholaro.com/grade-conversion/ My advice: once a school say credential evaluation is recommended. Please do it before applying. Only God knows what parameters was used for their own conversion. Maybe they don't understand French grades and just used a percentage or something because it is just funny to me. It is the only school I applied to because I was sure of getting in after discussing with the supervisor. Anyone with advice on schools for MSc Food Science for Spring intake that doesn't require GRE or IELTS? I don't think I'll apply for PhD again after being told to expect spending 6 years. 5 Likes

Mille:I doubt it’s a perfect 4.0. Why don’t you send your transcript to WES for evaluation? Transcript are evaluated course by course and not overall grade. Your masters grade is not so good. Looks more like a B- 2 Likes |

Tobidarker02:nothing is impossible. Once you get admission, you can still get funding. School is still in session as we speak and they are not giving out funding yet. Most schools have open GA you can apply for in as much as you already have admission |

Hardeydolarpo96: Do reapply for a new EA. Mine was denied in Lagos, I then switched to Abuja and viola, it was approved. But do note that once you reapply, you’ve exhausted your EA, to get another, you’d need to pay another Visa fee. Cheers! 4 Likes 1 Share |

slimmy2005: I have done the unofficial one with WES and it falls at a 3.6. I mean, if you can see the image I posted and still make a conclusion that it is likely a B-, it shows more reason for me to have the WES evaluation done. People unused to European grades might just make fallacious conclusions based on the grading system and numbers. And BTW, for Oxford University, a 14.5/20 is their equivalence of a First class. |

I paid my Seviz and uploaded all relevant docs on 15/2/2022, my program starts 16/5/22…but I have to be there a month before. I know there is still time, but I am just curious |
