makano: Thank you Makano. I sent them mails consistently last month and Nairobi VO replied that they are still actively reviewing my application. I deferred my admission to fall 2022. Do I need to inform my VO when I get the updated letter of acceptance? |

Good day guys. I just started my application. Realized there is a new portal. But it’s currently asking for my total tuition fee for the 2 years post graduate studies and the room and board. Meanwhile the old portal wouldn’t ask you to show that you have the full tuition, except your part Payment fees. My full tuition is 36,240CAD, The room on board is 24,000CAD then funds I available is 33,000CAD. Will this fly ? And who has used the new portal before and was faced with this same issue? Please I need answers ASAP. Thanks |

Good day, all. Quick question: Can my mum submit her SOA and act as a sponsor for my wife to cover her living expenses (as her mother-in-law)? She got a PhD offer. Mum's POF= CAD$6,000 PhD funding= CAD$23,000 Tuition and fees=CAD$9,300 Living expenses from funding= 23,000–9,300= $13,700. TIA. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by VonVictor: 8:41am On Feb 18, 2022 |
TheLasyBuddha: She's good to go with only the funding. Your mum can send like 1 million to your wife's account and attach a gift deed. When choosing who'll sponsor her she should choose herself or funding if there's an option. Many people have gotten visa with funding without showing any bank statement. But just to be safe let her have small money. Also in SOP, make sure to explain the funding in details and how it covers what and what. Other gurus can input to this tho 1 Like |

TheLasyBuddha: VonVictor: Let me continue from where you stopped boss. His mum should send the money to him, he will then transfer it to his wife, by so doing, he will resist the urge to shalaye, source of fund will also be stronger. 1 Like |

Hello nairalanders, I am new here and truly need advice on how to proceed for an application. I am currently applying for a post graduate program in Immunology at the university of Manitoba and have almost completed my application but there is a section where I have to get professor to support my application in terms of being my supervisor. I have gone through the staff page and seen various research interest of the different staff and have mailed few as to why I am interested in their research field but no response. I have mailed the department of post graduate studies and got a reply that it is my responsibility to get a sponsor for my department of interest giving me a link of the staffs in the department of immunology. I have done the best I know and am seeking guidance or directive from you guys to achieve this feat. Thank you. |

In addition to what others have advised, I would say she should submit her PhD funding ALONE and explain it as you have broken it down here. The additional 6K is unnecessary. In fact, it places more burden of explanation. She doesn't need any other statements. Just be sure she gets a letter from her department or supervisor that clearly states her funding amount and the tuition fee. TheLasyBuddha: |

Good evening gurus in the house, I keep asking questions here but no one wants to help out I hope someone helps me out this time. Thanks in advance. My question is. 1. Do I have to explain how I funded my GIC account and paid my tuition in my LOE? Or is not necessary |
