There is a part of the ds160 that says who sponsors trip? Can I use myself as sponsor of trip cos I assume sponsor of trip is about payment for flight, meanwhile my uncle is the one sponsoring my studies and living expenses over there. Abi my sponsor of trip still has to still be my uncle?

My guy, forget about going through the corners, you and you wife got fully funded offers, you both should go for the interview with your baby, forget about all these fear about home ties because they'll still have your family's records even if you split the application, use your current jobs or what you both intend doing upon return to the country to establish ties, you guys have FULLY FUNDED PhD OFFERS for God's sake so don't allow unecessary fear of the unknown to derail your application, goodluck to you and your family.

Thanks ☺️

Yeah, that your UNCLE; the person you are going to the embassy with his/her SOA; the person whose name is on your i20 as Sponsor.

Please I'm new here and I would like to know as a graduate of mass communication if there is an opportunity for me to study animal health in any university in the U S A. Currently I have an outfit where we care for animals health.

Please help me with schools with scholarship and how I will go through the entire processes. Thank you in anticipation for your responses.

hello everyone. Trust you are all keeping safe and healthy. My i20 was sent to me from a School of Business last week. I was given full funded scholarship with GA and I intend taking my family( wify and two kids age 4&5) with me. What are my chances of been given visa as well for my family.
You have a chance of getting a visa if you can prove to them that you can fund their stay on the US. Note that your wife won’t be able to work and you will need to pay health insurance for all of them.

Prove them that your family beside you will help you focus more. Also, you can fund their stay.

If your uncle is the one paying for your school, why do you want to list yourself as the sponsor?

It’s common sense that your uncle is your sponsor

ME: Good morning sir ( with a smile)
VO: Good morning can you pass me your documents
ME: Yes please (passed it)
VO: So where are you going to?
ME: I’m going to ODU to study for MBA with concentration in healthcare administration, although it only states MBA in my I-20
VO: (checks to see)…oh okay I see, what’s your highest degree
ME: BSN
VO: why would you be going for MBA when you have BSN?
ME: My major dream/goal is healthcare administration but it requires a pre-course in science related subject so I chose nursing
VO: (murmured something like oh you mentioned that-referring to the healthcare administration) What will this course do for you when you graduate?
ME: oh! I intend to come back to Nigeria to specifically work at Ikeja General Hospital to make an impact in the prioritization of care because I’ve been hearing lots of bad reports there.
VO: What do you currently do?
ME: I work as a nurse assistant at l hospital
VO: For how long?
ME : umm I started last year nov
VO: Have you been out of the country?
ME: Yes, I went to b for my BS degree
VO: when did you graduate ?
ME: I told him
VO: I see family funds here, who will be sponsoring you?
ME: said my parents and their occupation
VO: what did you say your mother does again?
ME: I repeated that
VO: And your father?
ME: I repeated that too ( I sensed that he was looking for a flop here, like an inconsistency in what I was saying and thank God he didn’t find any)
VO: (placed hands on the white paper and suddenly removed his hand there again, I’m like warrapen?) Do you have your old passport here with you, Can I see it?
ME: Gave him
VO: how many siblings do you have? What do they do?
ME: I mentioned them and told the occupation
VO: (now sitting to check his system dunno what he was checking but I guess he was confirming where I had been)
ME: fingers crossed…God will do it!
VO: Okay your application looks good, I will be approving your visa, will be holding onto your passport, the information on this paper will tell you how to pick up your passport. Congratulations.
ME: Thank you sir. Do have a great day!

I’m grateful to those I reached out to that helped me on this platform, someone that specifically guided me with “keeping my answers simple and straight” another that saved me last minute with my employment status & ds-form little that I know It had a big impact! The other person that agreed for mock reviews with me, the one that gave short fast answers lol was still useful, the one that connected me to the group and To Almighty Baba God who remains the same yesterday, today and the rest of the days to come! *He’s faithful!

Although you don't have your I-20 yet and you've not paid the SEVIS fee, you can still go ahead to book a date for your interview. This is the trick: Pay the visa/MVR fee. Commence the DS-160 process and save your Application ID, you will not complete or submit the form as you don't have your SEVIS ID yet, however, proceed to book a date with the Application ID. Once you have your SEVIS ID, complete and submit the DS-160 form, but this must be done within 30 days.
Remember, you'll have to pay the SEVIS fee 3 days before your interview date.

MBA gives you managerial expertise to run the industry giving you inside on management ideas beyond hospitality and tourism.

You’re still in line with what you studied in undergraduate level.

Go for it and look for a better reason why you chose to go for an MBA and how it would lift your career or place you in a better position in the job market

I have a friend who just got admitted for PhD Sociology. You should email the graduate coordinator if you need any information. It won’t hurt your chances but you’re building a better rapport with him/her just incase of GA pops up.

Good morning great people. I must say that the little time I have spent on this thread has been very helpful. May God grant all our requests.

My people, I have quite a number of questions I would be grateful to get prompt answers to.

Background: I got a PhD admission from Morgan State University with no funding yet but that I am qualified having more than 3.0/4.0
1. If US demands 6 months bank statement, can I move funds to the account like 2 months before generating the statement?
2. Can my husband co-sponsor me when I already listed him as dependant.
3. Can I use my own account and hubby's account for statement
4. My children are between 17 and 14years can I apply for F1/F2 together with them and hubby?
5. How easy is it to get external scholarship for a PhD, any links.
6. Do you think I should open up discussion with possible supervisors in the Department?
7. Can I write for assistantship too?

Thank you very much.

Sorry for late response, but let me still respond it might someone else.

1. Yes you can move funds before generating statements. (U.S embassy don’t have time to check account statements unless they are doubting you)

2. Yes he can co-sponsor

3. As many account as possible provided you can proof the connection

4. Yes can add all of them. Only that the more dependent you have the more money they expect you to have.

5. Don’t have any link

6. Discussion about funding ?

Hello everyone, Trust our weekend was cool?

Please I'm new here and I would like to know as a graduate of mass communication if there is an opportunity for me to study animal health in any university in the U S A. Currently I have an outfit where we care for animals health.

Please help me with schools with scholarship and how I will go through the entire processes. Thank you in anticipation for your responses.

BELOW IS BASICALLY THE ENTIRE PROCESS IN SUMMARY:

Step 1

Research for schools that suit your profile perfectly in terms of programs they offer , requirements for admission and funding opportunities .

Step 2

Contact the *Graduate Coordinator* telling him why you are interested in the school. You're to introduce yourself talking about your name, Country, Course of Study, GPA, plans for GRE and TOEFL, Research Interests, publication and also why you like his research interests. Conclude the mail by inquiring if there are funding opportunities for your intended program.

Step 3

Prepare for GRE/TOEFL/GMAT (depending on the program requirements)

Step 4
Apply to the schools you choose ( Some schools requires you to apply for funding as you submit your application, some give automatic funding while some requires you to apply for funding *only* after admission offer)

Step 5
Request for your I20
The I20 is the most important Visa document which displays relevant information about your program, cost and funding.

Step 6

Process your SEVIS (fmjfee.com). The SEVIS is a compulsory fee which must be paid before Visa Interview.

Step 7
Apply for Visa.
This requires intense preparation because you're going to be drilled by the Visa Officers.

Step 8
Pay for your flight and fly.

Dear sir, you should totally get your degree evaluated by WES. Most internal evaluation done by US universities are not favorable to international students. I honestly don’t know the criteria they use.

Besides, the actual evaluation increases your cgpa. That 3.6 Unofficial gpa will increase to either a 3.7 or 3.8

Thanks. I will.
