Can't you guys comment without throwing tribalistic comments everywhere? tribalism will definitely destroy all of you here believe me, and to think it's people like you that complain of whites calling y'all monkeys.

Whether chartered or not chartered whatever title you attained if you lack financial intelligence or mental ability to create job for yourself in this congested economy you're nothing but a cooperate slave in the labour market. Regardless your high qualification you'll end up begging for job unless you're connected.

As much as I would like to congratulate him, I fear that this his feat might not translate to much. Accounting is one course that churns out too many graduates and the labor market can hardly absorb them even when they become chartered. In my days of doing ACCA, I knew of an ICAN chartered accountant who was earning 30k per month and came to register for ACCA. This was around 2007 or so. Dude was married with kids, was working on the island and living on the mainland. I was always wondering how he was surviving. The luck this chap would have is that he is pretty young.

So because you know a chartered accountant who earns 30k translate to the boy not going far habi. This shows how shallow minded you are.
I know doctors and lawyers earning 30 and I know a chattered account earning 700k monthly
This boy is going to be a great man in respective of what shallow minded bring him down pple like you thinks or knows by the grace of God

Is this envy, inferiority complex, or what?

Would you have said the same thing had this brainy lad been from your town or tribe?

You actually denigrated the achievements of boy that has been mentored by the father, and who already prepares company accounts, and is now a chartered accountant at 17. Why? Because he is Yoruba?

You are commending Chinedu for learning a trade and being mentored by his boss to become successful in life, but here you are putting down Ojo for being mentored by his dad to become a chartered accountant, which could see him head a Fortune 500 company in the future. In fact if that boy goes abroad, he will finish and climb the corporate ladder so fast that his entire lineage would be impacted as a result.

I hope he goes on to add tangible value to society. That is what really counts.
In Nigeria, we are too fixated on the clout rather than the substance "first person to score 9As in waec", " youngest person to completena PhD" , etc. But we are not producing, we are not innovative, we are not creating. We just want to brag.
Personally, I don't care if he is 17 or 40. What matters to me is what value his ICAN can add to society.

Maybe we should start with you telling us the value you are adding to the society.

If only you had a brain that works and you have cognitive reasoning, you would not have typed the rubbish you posted. Go back and read what I wrote slowly and understand me properly. It's a Monday morning and I'm in no position to start having a back and forth with anyone that lacks skills of comprehension.

Why is there so much negativity and anger on this platform. Some people don't see human being they see tribe and take things out of context. This young man has worked so hard to attain what he did, encouragement will be the best thing anyone can give him. With encouragement he can keep pushing to get heights he never imagined and make everyone proud. it's really sad to see negative comments on post like this. In this day and age where mental health is taken seriously, we should mind what we say because this young man could be reading the comments. i understand freedom of speech. oju inu eti inu

Without the name-calling of "Afonja", "skull mining",
etc. I agree with you. A chartered accountant is supposed to be one who has demonstrated both academic and practical experience over a period. Things like this expose.the flaw in our educational
and professional system, it exposes that ICAN is merely a paper qualification which any one with a retentive memory can ace. If 10year olds can cram and recite the full Quran, it is a no brainer that a 17year old can pass ICAN. We are too focused on paper qualifications in this country. That has to change

I agree with you on the point of paper qualifications.

Our young accountant here needs to attach himself to an Audit/Accounting Firm for experience.

However, we need to congratulate and encourage our young accountant for this rare feat.

He's done so well for himself and the nation and our youths should emulate him.

Congratulations!

Okay. I am an engineer and an entrepreneur, into transportation (e-hailing and lease) and building construction management. I just developed a more cost effective and less environmentally harmful waste disposal system and I'm currently talking with LAWMA to register as a PSP. That's all for now, when I get into other things, I'll let you know.
