Dear CSOs and Nigerians planning to protest peacefully, Technically Buhari has 30 days legally. If he signs INEC will only shift elections for few days to account for the provisions of the new law. Go ahead with the peaceful protests if you will, it is a constitutional right. But save the best of the protests for after 30 days. The body language of Buhari and his cabal shows that they do not want the best for the country and will not sign the bill. The way they speedily signed the finance bill, the NNPC bill and then claimed that faulty parts can be reworked, they should have done it it this important bill if they were serious. I strongly believe they are planning to reject the bill. Let the upcoming protest be like a warning and start preparing for the bigger one which should be a protest to veto the bill. 4 Likes |

NASS didn't help the situation. Everyone looking after their interests. If they just removed the clause that PMB complained about, it would have been signed. However they slotted in more controversial clauses and didn't deem it fit to align with the Executive before sending in for assent, now putting FG in a tight spot. In any case, PMB should sign the bill so we all move 2 Likes |

Buhari is still a coup plotter. I can't be convinced otherwise. He now wants to do due diligence on a bill he has been rejecting since 2018. This is just unnecessary hyping of a country's temperature. What is it really about these guys? Could he have championed the bill? And his lazy aides will always come out to insult Nigerians. Awfully crazy people! 4 Likes |

jlinkd78: No dey mind them. It is good that this his laxity is now touching on his immediate constituent, the party. Until now, Buhari has not as simple as give a lead as to proceed with the party convention. Everyone is on the loose with all manner of lists flying up and down causing chaos and confusion. Postpone it till 2030, Buhari will wait until the dying to give as simple as a guide to steady the process and give focus to it. God forbid! 1 Like |
