Hello and goodday Fellas,

I was given a master's degree admission in 2020 but due to the Covid situation I wasn't able to get an visa appointment at the embassy. Although I kept applying for a visa appointment

The university made provisions for online continuation of the study so I continued the course online. I also paid the semester fees of each semester.
It's a 2-year master's program and I'm currently in my third semester

Last week , I got an appointment mail from the German Embassy , that I'm to appear @ the German consulate in Lagos for my interview on the 15th of March.

So, I'm currently in dilemma cos I don't know what documents to submit plus I haven't even opened a blocked account and I don't have any health insurance or something of that sort.

So, my question is -:

1) what documents should I take to the embassy ?? What are the visa requirements for the interview?

2) How can I open a German blocked account ? Must I put money in the blocked account before going to the interview?

3) How much is the visa and application fees?

4) How long does the interview take?

Expecting your response guys , thanks.

(If there's any additional information you'd like me to have pls don't hesitate to add it)
1. I will mail you the corresponding checklist the embassy own.

2. You can with fund through finitiba or coracle. Go to Google playstore to down finitiba app and then follow instructions to open account within 5minutes after several verifications.

Or you can google coracle online blocked account

3. Student visa application fee. #35,500 as 11th of February when I did mine.

4. Within 30 - 40minutes

May I ask if one has to go with travel insurance on the day of interview or after the interview when you get an approval mail?

Also, can you mail me the required document for interview (miyakindo@gmail.com)

My interview is on Friday. Thanks

Dear nnoli90,

Thank you for your reply. I do understand you are trying to prevent fellow Nigerian students being scammed. I believe a simple search on Google, or probably connecting with a scholar already in Germany on LinkedIn will help clear your doubts.

NiSIG is a platform for Nigerian students and professionals in Germany.

I am currently busy with a lot of activities. Perhaps you could give a feedback after making a search online or connecting with members on Twitter, LinkedIn, etc

Hello all, I have visa appointment on Friday. Do I have to go with a health insurance or is the health insurance after I have gotten an approval mail. Also, what is the required passport photograph size?

For those who need SL, I can help to some extent.
It is not compulsory you go with health insurance now. Go with it if you have, but if not, wait till you get AM. The passport size you need is ur normal 35mm by 45 mm. I need help with SL though. I sent you a mail

Good evening all
I recently got admission from Jacobs university in Germany only to discover that I wasn’t qualified for the Priority list. I am required by the university to pay an enrollment deposit of €500 with a deadline of 04/03/2022 to secure the admission in the program which is to kick off in September 2022. But, being part of the regular list, I would be given an appointment date in at least one year time. My question is this;
1) Do I go ahead to secure the admission?
2) Am scared I may not even be given an appointment date considering stories that I have heard
3) if eventually I am issued an appointment date, is there a guarantee that I could be given a visa?
NB: I intend to go with my family

Started what? Why would someone with a functional brain post that sensitive picture with his full name and interview date? Thats a serious security breach for him.

He can even be impersonated. Dont ask me how.

Do you know the number of criminals that monitor this thread? Thousands. Many will start sending him fraud links and fake helps.

Chief, there are basically no guarantees in these things. But since it's not a free tuition admission, I will advise you get adequate info on their refund policy. If it's favourable, you can go ahead, because you won't be getting the unconditional offer without the payment. And you will need it when you eventually get appointment date, if at all.

However, getting Visa appointment date no be beans as no be only you wan Japa. The consulate receives thousands of applications every month. So you need to be patient through it.

In summary, get adequate info on the school's refund policy and if admissions can be deferred in the eventual case you don't get Visa appointment date on time.

Cheers!

Chief, since you're already in your 3rd semester, there's so little of advice anybody can rightly give you here as your case is peculiar. I fear they might ask you to continue online since you're almost done with your studies. It's usually advisable to decline such offer to enroll online when presented.

However, the documents to go with should be on their website; travel/health insurance, admission letter, flight itinerary, accomodation reservation, passport data page etc. Go and check for the comprehensive list.

You have to block the account and go with the bank statement or reference letter. Alongside the above and other documents.

Interview duration vary. It's usually between 15-40 minutes depending on the interviewer.

Best of luck!
