You are living in another world. Abi Nigeria is the only country in the world. Even better achieving nations in football "reach out" to players.

TheGoodJoe:

Bring up your kids where you want. It does not make them less Nigerian. The point is about football and the national team. Invite those with the passion to play. Let those that want to play reach out to us.

The point is, when they are ready, let them reach out to us. Let us stop calling to convince them.

They are just a minority. They feel more entitled to Nigeria.

Wait mk I ask you what do you mean by red carpet treatment? Are they don’t paid the same allowance others get after national team engagements? Abi nff Dey book private jet that takes them to their respective clubs after national assingments while others go back on public flights?

Or are they guaranteed a starters shirt in the team upon acceptance to play for us?

Do not convince them. That puts them on a pedestal of us needing them. That makes them somehow look bigger than the team. Let them fight to play for us. Not us fight for them.

Finito.

Yeah I know chief was just trolling grin

But judging players humanitarian tendencies as evidence of passion for the football national team is a bit too simplistic.

Good luck to them. Let better nations reach out to them. I am proud of them and wish them success in their better nations.

I want those who are contended with this less nation and with passion to wear our jersey with pride to play for us.

If they are too big for us, let them play for the better Nations.

applying for a switch and being approved does not automatically translate to invitation to the SE. But one thing it guarantees is being added to the pool of players at our disposal.

I know Baba

Nothing bad in securing him first

I repeat. I am proud of all of them. Home, abroad. I wish and pray for the best for them no hard feelings. However, I know passion plays a big part in National team football.

We need to maintain that.

Yes, the secret of winning the world cup, is to judge other's passion while playing for the team based on what they did or said in the past. you are dead right!

Have a policy of them reaching out to us. Nathan Tella is a recent example. He made it known that he has a desire to play for us. We did not need to convince him. He is passionate for the team. We saw same with others like Balogun.

Have an open policy for them to reach out to us when they want to play for us.

Finito.

I'm Edo from my father and Yoruba from my mother. My surname might give me out. But I was born and bred in as a Yoruba boy. we only speak yoruba. I mean I could go on and on to tell you what makes me feel more Yoruba than a benin boy. Living in lagos , I've been to benin just once. It must be the same for these boys.
If You must convince them do it!
What's the pride about it? That you are asking a person to give up a fraction of what makes them and their very existence due to their parental lineage.

As you are now, I can not convince you with mouth to develop a passion for Benin. However, an incident can happen or an opportunity can come up that makes you want to serve there.

You are still Benin and when you are ready to play a role there, it is okay. But, talking to convince you will not work or give you the passion to serve.

The problem is many Nigerians can relate to this like you just did. But they can't put themselves in their shoes for once.

Football is not sprinting in event. It is different. Victor Moses gives us a clue how he chose Chelsea over An Olympics participation.

Chukwuemeka Eze shows us how he needs time with his club over a chance to help us qualify for the World Cup.

Olise shows us he prefers to wait than help us fight to qualify.

Lack of passion.
