That's how the scam works na!
They would entice you by showing you profit on your initial investment to hoodwink you into bringing in more money for your second investment.
What they do is play on our human greedy nature.

Thank you for sharing this. For those at the edge, more insight for you to make an intelligent decision, to do or not to do. As is with most, if not all things in life, some will be for, others against. The challenge with crypto is, how can you hold it accountable, the ones working it, can one put a face or location to them should things go south. Moreso, the human 'me first' syndrome is universal. When things go well with it, who reaps first, and otherwise, who suffers first. The traditional physical contact way of doing things can be so confusing to the average blog, now add that to an online platform and one wonders what, is the wisdom in that

Well said
socialmediaman:
**READ and LEARN**

People are very ill-informed about cryptocurrencies, forex, stocks and other high risk investments in general.

Before you invest your money anywhere, especially in high risk investments, do yourself a favor do a lot of research. This can never be overemphasized. Learn how it works, how to safely invest, how you can potentially gain or lose, and how you can get scammed. Don't bother investing if you don't have these information. Remember, It may give you instant cash, but your ignorance will also lead you astray especially when combined with your greed.

When you finally decide to invest, Never invest how much you can't afford to lose, and never invest more than 5% max of your net worth (In saner climes like abroad, you can go 10x because the economy is more stable). This means, if they pay you 50K salary monthly, never invest more than 2.5K total in high risk investments (5%).

Your 2.5K means nothing to other people investing millions, but hey, this is your capacity and if it goes 100x after a few years, 250K is 5x your salary. But if it crashes and you lose all your money, you won't be crying and having depression

It's concerning that people haven't learned, even after the days of MMM.

A word is enough for the wise!

Sorry you feel that way, but crypto is the future of finance. We are just scratching the surface of DiFi, blockchain technology and crypto currencies. If you don't obtain the necessary education and skills, you will be left behind.

After saying that, it was not because of crypto that the Sister got scammed, it was because of greed. It could have been other financial instruments like stocks, forex, gold or even wash wash dollars.
People have been scams with agriculture pools, ponzi schemes and online shopping.
The lesson here is never invest your money in instruments or businesses you have no knowledge of. Crypto sounds exotic and sophisticated to lots of people and so easily falls for scams using cryptos as instruments.

It's not an insult, don't see it that way. Only a foolish person or in your case, people would believe that 1m will give 3m.
You don't need to be ignorant of the workings of forex, you just need to be a smart person to know it's a scam.
well it would have if she had invested it when MMM was at its prime. Atleast MMM pays for some months before the crash

It all started last year November when my lil sis called me jubilating about how she got 90k with just 30k in just 3 weeks.

I asked her how and she explianed. In her words. I met this guys some weeks ago and they talked me into crypto, at first I declined, but I finaly decided to play along with them by staking a token of 30k with them.

They called me today (3 weeks later) saying that crypto market has crashed! BUT before it crashed her token was able to tripple! that had it being she invested earlier that it might even be ×10!. I was happy for her. I asked to invest again but she said that the market is down, but they will let her know when it rises.

January 10th this year they called and asked her to invest again. She wanted to invest 50k but they adviced her to invest with a big money, so should it case it the market didnt last long and it only double or tripple, there will be no problem. She called me and explained everything to me, being a novice in crypto, I just asked her to be careful. Am coming guys..

I thought as much.

But a key rule in life acording to my mentor is "to get rich you must learn not doubt everything" and the principle is actualy working for me, the only thing is that you must not stake what you can't loose.

Not necessarily a good rule. If it sounds too good to be true, it's probably is. To be rich, you run risks, but you must understand what the risks are. Believing cock and bull stories won't make you rich. It would only lead to misery.

@Patrioticbreed9 So sorry for your loss….
Crypto trading by itself isn’t a scam, but you have to be wary of the get rich quick syndrome.

I used to be a day trader, and have seen it all; was scammed for being greedy, after that I was scammed for being too careful.
The bottom line, don’t think about what you would have in your account, think about what’s already in your account and walk away.

After I was scammed, I trained myself on how to be a day trader when COVID just started and it worked perfectly for me. I stopped day trading and just invest little amount in meme coin with potential. Nothing comes easily.
I remember teaching a friend how to make $2 per day with $200 capital, and his respond was “shey that one nah money”. I am quite sure my friend would gladly fall for a Scammer that tells him his $200 will turn $600 in a month.
From my day trading experience, you can triple your money staking, however, you can lose everything as well. Spot trading requires commitment to be able to make $50 per month with $200.
