BlazinGlory40: Not the consensus of old where some bigwigs meet and decide.. This time it is the aspirants that bought forms that we agree to a consensus However I see Mr president sending in a amendment bill which may capture that issue because as it is now, consensus is dead on arrival |

shinealight: Sir, Buhari just gave APC a new chairman by just gathering the governor's As their convention draws close some aspirant will even see it that they are headed no where Nad drop out.. Some will do it on the convention grounds Right now he has taken over the entire structure of his party through proxies and already dictating who is going to be what are the centre... It is through those structures that delegstes, apart from statutory ones, are selected or picked |

Themandator: There are many ways for politicians to achieve what they want. The president and his men have thought about it and devised ways to make up for such a situation where consensus fail. If it comes to indirect primaries, they are game because their strategies have been mapped out already. There are many ways to skin a cat in our corrupt political system. |

Mediocre journalism. ChannelsTV rushed to announce the signing of the billi without bothering to explain what’s in the bill, why the president refused to sign it and what made him finally sign it. 1 Like |

Themandator: True, but don’t forget that the House of Reps members (360 of them) are also going to be delegates…not just governors or those that can be teleguided by Buhari. The House of Reps inserted that Clause that every aspirant must agree in writing for a genuine Consensus to take place! How did Obasanjo lose his third term bid?….they sabotaged it at the National Assembly. The President does not always have his way! Even, the Party positions that he virtually dictated is already being questioned openly by some aspirants who said they have been campaigning for the past one year….they can still throw a spanner in the works at the Convention venue! 1 Like |

Themandator: All the aspirants will step down….are you joking? Some people will rather die than do that. Some of the Presidential aspirants fought IBB and his brother Abacha to a standstill….so Buhari’s partisanship means nothing to them. Nigerians are no longer thinking like people living in a banana republic. You saw how the CSO just went on protest to force the signing of the Electoral Amendment Bill into law……the guy was vacillating and was not willing to sign but he had to in the end…otherwise the veto would have been countered. Just keep watching the movie! |

Moferere: Honestly, both CSOs, many Nigerian citizens and elites have very poor knowledge of governance including the pretentious ones claiming capacity to rule Nigeria. This is the same mistake APC did before coming to power. Do u think it works the way most people see things by assumption? He had to scrutinize the contents of the act very well before signing it, that is why he asked them to delete some portion of it and amend the act. We need to start using brain than emotion! |
