After scoring double digits each season since his move to Italy I reckon he has done fairly well not forgetting that he has had to recover from two bad injuries plus covid enforced time on the sidelines.

Can he do better yes but if we're assessing him based on his output which for a striker is goals then he would definitely warrant a pat on the back.

komekn:

When Victor O, moved to Napoli .

I said the true test of his quality will be how he can adapt to tactfully more superior system of football and one where he is not core focal point for the team as it was in Napoli and Belgium. Essentially one dimensional system.

That test has come and what do you think

You use the best descriptive term considering the circumstances, " fairly well"

However, when a club pays near £80 million for a player, there is therefore world class Expectations.

I would not describe his performances as world class so far.

I will paraphrase the words of the Napoli president.

Osimhen wasn't bought because he was the finished product but because he has the potential to get even better. In short they weren't expecting instant world class levels of performance. They understand he's a young player who will improve with age. His goal stats have shown he is improving every season in Italy. When he's not scoring he's winning penalties. This season alone I think he's won 6 or 7 penalties all this despite being out with injuries. Now if I'm objectively assessing Osimhen I will say his performances have shown he can and will do better. Considering his age time is still on his side to improve.

We can insist he improves aspects of his game but it would be laughable to start saying he hasn't delivered when his goal output is still good.

I think it will be fair to not begin to give up on a player who has scored double digits in each of the last 4 seasons including this one.

When you pay £80 million for a striker, is it unreasonable to expect him to be among the top 5 top goal scorers in the Seria A ❓being in the top 10 is acceptable anything less I woulty say is unsatisfactory for a world class transfer fee of £80 million.

2020/21 season after 24 games 10 goals and was 25th in the Seria A goals scored table.

2021/22 season so far 16 games and 7 goals.

I did not say " GIVE UP" Nobody is suggesting that.

I'm my experience nobody spends £80 million on a player who they think has a lot to learn.

I actually think Victor O has a lot learn he doing ok but that's all. I currently rate Dennis more than him.

The price tag is heavy but again I will repeat what the Napoli president said they paid that huge figure for Osimhen not because they expect him to instantly start topping the goal scorers chart but because they believe over time he will come good. Can he do better? of course but considering that he's a young player who's no where near his peak he has shown promising signs.

I happy you mentioned Dennis but objectively using stats on what basis are you adjudging that he's ahead of Victor?

Do you know this season is Dennis's best season ever as a professional footballer? Do you know that Emmanuel has only ever hit double digits once in his career? Plus he's older whereas Osimhen who you claim is a lesser player has hit double digits consistently in the last 4 seasons. And if you want to claim it's because Victor hasn't played in the EPL the 2 times he faced top Premier League opposition in Chelsea and Leicester City he scored 3 times so chief abeg talk another thing.

Dennis is not even a striker self till recently at watford ,he doesn’t even play there all the time

I have even watched Dennis played as a wing back for club Brugge

Yes it's very possible for the SE to play with one man down.

The Tunisia match showed it's possible with a bit of luck we could have equalized.

Every coach worth his salt always works on contingency plans but we can only hope it works on the day.

The top five goal scorers in the best and most competitive league in the world the EPL are not strikers by definition.

Salah
Diogo
Sterling
Mane
Bruno

So what's your point exactly.

Your judgement on players is too momentarily. I mean 2 years ago you will not rate Emmanuel dennis but now you rate him. Stop been hasty to judge players. Time changes things and life is full of surprises.

Dude l don't think you understand that football is a short term career, as a consequence everything is time constrained.

This seasons star can become next season's flop, this is the nature of football.

The only thing you can hold on to is consistent outstanding performance. You catn hold on to past glories, it is about the HERE and NOW.

In the HERE and NOW Dennis is the most in form and best Forward player CURRENTLY in Nigeria.

Anthony Nwakaeme has to go down as one of Nigeria's greatest in Europe.

Just took Trabzonspor to within 16 points of a first title in about 50 years, with a goal, assist, 8 chances created and 6 dribbles.

From two goals down.

I think this is a good time to give my input on Osimhen's game yesterday.

The young man impressed me a lot. He showed many outstanding qualities. His hard work to press the defenders was ideal but his teammates were not in sync with him. If the other players worked close to how hard Osimhen was in pressing, they would have caused problemS.

I was keen on his tactical movement because I criticized that after the last game in Barcelona. He really showed much improvement. dropped to help build-up games. Stretched the defense by attacking the wide areas.

Showed strength and determination against a strong defense setup. Osimhen remained a threat all game.

I found his leap to defend a long ball with a header impressive. Also used his pockets of space will.

All in all, it was an impressive display from Osimhen and even showed so much potential to become a high grade hitman.

VERDICT: IMPRESSIVE.
