Is this for real?

That is Ghana for you, over pricing and pricing in foreign currency. Make I burst your bubble again, see below .

it's possible, that's Ghana. Don't forget the cedis redomination.

The last central bank program I went for (this previous Wednesday) they chipped in the falling rate of ghc against the dollar and appreciated cbn for ruling redomination out.

I even heard they, in their words "dollarised" the Ghanaian economy. Meaning, they do transact in dollar in corporate business, all in the guise to attract foreign investors but it's really killing the local currency.

Watch just.40 come and sing praises of how transacting in dollar is a good thing or vehemently deny this obvious canker in the Ghana economy.

You are stupid my bro. You are asking me if Nigeria has something like this. That’s a very stupid question even to Togo.

P.s when it comes to roads,we have miss Trudy and African tigress receipts all over the nets.
Again, you're still beating around the bush. That's not how I roll.

prove that that stretch of road is inferior to anything in your zoo and stop wasting my time.

This is pure madness even for the upper class.

yep .... Property pricing has become pure madness
But this is understandable because it is a 6 bedroom house which might have several living rooms.

Yet people still find the money to rent these properties on short stay..They seem to have their targeted market.

Just madness

real estate is always transacted in dollars though.

If it's true, the government has to step in with rent controls and legislation to scare the property developers or owners. That's just too much money, even for the rich! shocked angry

well, the rich pays without flinching ....

You're asking for something dictatorial not done anywhere..

Ultimately it is the consumer that determine the price they are willing to pay for anything.. Ie. Market forces plays a part.

Govt can only set a ceiling rate and a minimum rate.

But then Just 40, even in America how many rich people can afford to pay that for a night? Except you are saying Ghana attracts many upper middle class folks or some corrupt politicians. Do you also think that place would be worth the price?

. I've not seen it to know if it is worth it... But at this rate, it better come with it own indoor pool and fully equipped gym

I don't know the class of people who rent it but I know that these places are mostly fully booked during seasons and most weekends... Sometimes by students

price control is dictatorial

It's better to make market forces play out than instituting price control... That's a slippery slope.

We did that in the 80s and destroyed our competitiveness and it won't happen again.

Imagine govt telling you to sell your goods at a certain rate that is below your cost price..

You'll be the first to cry fowl grin grin

It's like prices are unnecessarily inflated in Accra when it comes to anything real estate or other forms of construction. This project for instance is said to be estimated at a whooping 10 Billion dollars. It's there something unique about this project they ain't telling us.

yes it's a huge project that covers the entire land space that you see in the video, not just the shopping space...
The project has several residential properties and office spaces going up at the other end of the land

As for real estate prices, it's been going up for the last 10 years.
The steam it's been running on seem to be picking up more speed.

Cedis and Kwacha have bad history of hyperinflation that is hard to sort...people always remain with bad memories..and any sign of trouble...they dump it for dollar. Hyperinflation is hard to get out of.

how ?

If you export to or import from Russia, you suffer because your banks will now have to look for a new clearing house and agree on the currency for the transaction to be done in.

Those who depend on Ukraine for their grain import suffers most because most of Ukraine export facilities are none operational and the world is in a supply chain crisis to make it easy for new suppliers to take the challenge.
