I subscribed for 4G plan 3 days ago,when I checked my remaining plan today,it was 1.5G. I slept for about 4hours without disconnecting my data and when I checked again I saw 4MB. I subscribed again this time 6G and after surfing the web for about an hour,I got a message that my remaining balance was 500MB.

Could I have tampered with a particular setting unknowingly or what could be the problem?

My phone is Infinix Smart 5 and I'm using Airtel network.

Immidiately I read the first Paragraph, I already knew it was Airtel Same thing those Bastards did to me last week, and you know what? They started that stupidity when it really mattered to me, I was busy working on my Pc (Programming) and the way my data kept finishing within a twinkle of an eye was so unusual. Next is Access Bank, I did Transfer of 63k to get some Packages for my Room here in school, the account I did the transfer to hasn't received the money, and I was deducted, the seller has gone to his bank and they told him that the fault is from my own bank. I'll buy Airtime from my bank to my Second Line or transfer to someone, I'll be deducted but the Airtime wouldn't add to my Sim's balance nor the person I transfered to, and I wouldn't be refunded. Not to talk of the N300 they keep deducting everytime for heaven knows why sake!

Nothing really works in this Country honestly. I go soon Appear for Instablog9ja, anyday I create time enter any Access Bank Branch, wait for outside Canopy till e reach my turn, then enter inside bank, e no go Funny I swear!!

Go to your play store, click on settings in your play store. You will see network preferences
Under this, change your updating setting. Change from auto-updating from data to WiFi.

Your phone automatically updates either apps or version i guess. Check your whatsapp too and remove automatic downloads of videos, documents and files.

Check your phone's data meter If it corresponds with the data losses. Make sure your Hotspot is always turned off when you are not using it and change the password. Set your data usage limit to like 20% of the amount you bought. It will automatically turn off immediately you consume that amount so no losses when you sleep. Turn off all app updates and synchronizations too

The highlighted was what i was just waiting to hear. Airtel are broad day light robbers when it comes to data. i bought 10 gigs data last month and 4 gigs disappeared overnight, before the next day ran out 10gigs was gone. i quickly rushed and get an MTN sim fast and im now enjoying the true meaning of data.

Someone is literally sharing ur data with u,u can ask Google how to check who's sharing ur data with u.

Tap on your mobile data icon for 1 or 2 secs

Tap on mobile data usage (depends on number of sims)

It will display the app that uses the most data.

Although I suspect YouTube to be the culprit cuz sometimes people download/save videos on YouTube app. Once in a while the downloaded video updates. Most of the time it's usually YouTube downloads.

Download the glasswire app, and check your data usage. You'll surely find the app responsible for the high usage of your data and block the app. I was having same issues until i did same thing and solved the problem. In my case it was this Google app.

I advise you to check your YouTube downloads cuz that thing go drink data without permission. The videos may have been saved for offline view but they usually update and the size their updates is no joke
