If you think as an engineer you have to land a contract before you can eat then bro you better switch proffession, probably start selling teddy bears lol.. there's alot of things you wouldn't have learnt in school coz even the old lecturers don't know them but in the field those knowledge will make you money. 14 Likes 7 Shares |

Your question is quite vague. But if you're referring to how difficult for engineering graduates to get job placements in their fields, there are numerous reasons. First, Nigeria is not industrialised. Thus, fewer jobs for engineers, technicians etc. Second, the engineering training in most universities is not in tandem with modern workplace realities. Hardskills like ability to work with various softwares, are not really driven. With all the challenges, engineers have that advantage of problem solving and analytical. It's the reason why engineers ace job tests like banks, sales, consulting... Don't cocoon yourself that you must get an engineering job even if you have high passion for that. Start something that will give you an exposure of work life. I know of many engineering who have refused to switch to engineering even with lucrative offers. Your degree should be a sort of footing for you to build upon 25 Likes 2 Shares |

Because the infrastructures are poor. Engineers are corrupt, contractors patronize foreigners to get extra, contractors have little believe in local engineers due to various reasons etc 2 Likes |

Not all engineering courses are difficult to practice in Nigeria though. But, like every other courses, you need connection or a first class result to start off. And like every thing else, you have to struggle at the start. That said, it is a big failure on the part of our secondary schools that students pick courses to study in the university without having a clear picture of areas they can work after graduation. Whatever path you are taking in life, it is important that you know your final destination when you start. 7 Likes |

Engineering is about design and construction. It's practically difficult to do so in our clime due to lack of infrastructure. So what most engineers do is to end up supervising projects and hustling to get contracts. But if u are really passionate about engineering, be open to internship here and abroad. First, if u don't have silver spoon, do anything legit to make beta money and Japa. Europe is a good destination. Look for organizations that wants interns. Start from there. If I fall for the wave of Msc, PhD, u will definitely end up as a lecturer and the dream dies. 5 Likes |

Simply because our schools are not equipped with the necessary equipment and machines to study engineering in real life. You can not teach engineering as if you are teaching History and English language or Archeology and expect the students to be as bright and happy as those that studied in Cambridge with all the equipment you can think of. Why do you think ASUU is on strike till now? The government is not concerned about the wellbeing of the students and their lecturers. They are not interested in equipping our labs and making learning interesting. Students are now left to cram and pour, pass exam and go with no single practical experience of what they studied. It's very boring, very depressing and very difficult. Nigeria... 5 Likes |

Lol. Because everything is difficult in Nigeria. To pass waec na war. To get good jamb score na another war. To finally get admission to study your desired course na 1st world War. To graduate with a good result from Nigerian higher institution is another Vietnam War. To get mobilized for NYSC is like journey to Jupiter. After you pass out from NYSC, to secure a job is like world War ii. You secure a job, to get promotion is like deflowering a 50 year old virgin woman. To find a spouse to marry to start a family in Nigeria is another round of Rwandan genocide You finally get married, to give birth na covid-19 12 Likes |
