anselem87: Orooo. The same way they use the federal allocations to IMSG and its LGAs to build and demolish and rebuild in Owerri since 2013, that's similar to what you condemn the federal government for doing, as it uses Nigeria's income and loans to build standard gauge rail lines that exclude the east. I condemn what's been going on in Imo state, you and others like you yab me for talking about the arrested development in Orlu which you called "ur Orlu." I emphasise on Orlu because, if IMSG gave Orlu its commensurate urban development infrastructures, Orlu should have been developing at the same pace with Owerri. Little differences in urban development existed between Owerri and Orlu in 1976. But for the sabotage by the last two governors from Orlu senatorial district, it's been stagnation in Orlu since Rochas Okorocha took Imo state to APC. Only fools from Imo state enjoy Imo state of Owerri as the only modern place, but turn round to condemn the exclusion of the east by the federal government in its provision of modern development infrastructures to rest of Nigeria. 3 Likes |

anselem87: You are UNINFORMED.. There is NOTHING wrong with a narrow guage..Most of Europe is still being run with .narrow guage trains..till next year.. Rotimi Amaechi advised that since an existing old narrow guage was abandoned,it can be rehabilitated, upgraded to modern day narrow guage with modern stations, switch boards, etc while waiting for money for a BRAND NEW standard guage... A Brand new standard guage for the Eastern Railway is still also in the works.. The FG has signed the contract and what's delaying the job(3Billiin dollars plus) is money... Amaechi is looking for money.. You must not bring in ethnic silly sentiments here.. After all,the 2nd Niger Bridge and the Bodo/Bonny bridge are the most HUMONGOUS Infrastructure in the South East/South since 1960 being built by this Buhari led FG... Why are the northerners not wailing about that Biko, jiri ya nwayo! 2 Likes |

Buhari is constructing standard gauge railway from kano to niger republic when there's no one connecting south east, u call second niger bridge igbo project but the ones they are building in yorubaland and hausalands are Nigerian projects, no region is greater or more valuable than others why can't you ask your self why there's agitation of biafra |

anselem87: Agitation for restoration of Biafra is not connected to exclusion of the east from standard gauge rail project. Sharaap, and get yourself informed, before coming online to expose your ignorance. Why call Afonja? Because you first consider where a person who drops a comment comes from before you think of what reply you give to the comment, the same stupeed manner you talked about "ur Orlu," as if Orlu is a strange town you would want to get rid of from the face of the earth. 1 Like |

Amah70:Are 90% of the past governors of Imo state not from Orlu?? I think Orlu are playing with fire tbh, the day power will leave Orlu eh, una go cry tire. Orlu governor dey but yet Orlu is the most insecure out if the 3 zones. I think Orlu people should start doing serious prayer and fasting tbh. because when power eventually leaves that side don't expect the governor to develop that side ahead of other regions. I rest my case |

Waltersmith is partnering with United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and other relevant stakeholders in Imo State to execute the project. The multi-billion dollar project will be situated at Ibigwe Oil Field in Ohaji Egbema Local Government Council of the State. Speaking during a-one day consultation forum with Imo State private sector stakeholders at Protea Hotel, Owerri, Wednesday, the Director General of Imo State Investment Promotion Agency, ISIPA, Dr. Jude Nzeako expiained that Covid-19 and global economic realignment have made it expedient for Nigeria and every region to intensify efforts to attract both local and foreign direct investment to guarantee rapid economic development. Said the DG,“Intervention is in the forefront of our Governor's program”. Nzeako pledged his total support to any investor with good intention about the state and added that ISIPA is currently backed by the state government to ensure necessary support for businesses to thrive in the state. The DG inferred that the governor is putting policies in place to drive projects that will impart the lives of lmo people and however, spoke highly of the governor's commitment to embark on any exercise that will secure the lives and properties of Imo people. Contributing, the UNIDO Representative to ECOWAS, and Regional Director, Mr. Jean Bankole said the meeting was timely and important. He stressed the need to promote self-initiative, which according to him would help private partnership and commended the efforts of Waltersmith towards the project. The Managing Director of Waltersmith, Mr. Chikezie Nwosu who joined the meeting via zoom disclosed that many graduates of the area had undergone training specifically for refinery and offshore operations. He promised to commit all to ensure the success of the project. IMO STATE PUBLIC ENLIGHTENMENT IMO STATE MINISTRY OF HEALTH MEETS CONCESSIONAIRES OF GOVERNMENT BUILT HOSPITAL BUILDINGS "We Want To Find Out Who Are The Concessionaires, If They Have Built, Funished And Are Operating Clinical Services amongst others" ~ Dr Success Prosper-Ohayagha, Imo State Commissioner for Health. The Imo State Commissioner for Health, Dr Success Prosper-Ohayagha today met some the Concessionaires of 14 out of the 27 hospital buildings across the state. Some of the uncompleted hospital buildings, fourteen in number were concessioned out to institutions and organisations under the previous administration of Owelle Rochas Okorocha. Addressing the meeting, the Health Commissioner disclosed that the purpose of the meeting is to:- ▪ Find out those who have completed the buildings, furnished and operating clinical services. ▪ Find out their next plan of action - whether to continue along the terms of the agreement or relinquish the hospital buildings. ▪ Find out those who have completed and started operations, investigate Board memberships which are to include State Ministry of Health Representatives. ▪ Find out if payment of fees to the Government has been made - when they started and arrears of payments. ▪ Find out those who have not started, reasons for failure to start and solutions on way forward. ▪ Find out if payment of 2% to host communities has been made - Those who paid and those who have not paid and reasons for non payment. From the documents tendered, most of the hospital buildings were concessioned within the month of May 2019, under the Imo State Public, Private Partnership Law No. 11 of 2018 for a period of 25 years with management and proprietary rights vested on the Concessionaires, but with certain agreed fees payable to the government after a moratorium period of six months in fulfilment of the "Concessionaires Convenant ". At the end, it was discovered that only the operators of the Ikeduru and Orlu hospitals have made strides in terms of building, furnishing, maintenance and clinical services. On the whole, the payment accruals to the government has not been met by all. In the end, Dr. Success Prosper Ohayagha reiterated the determination of the government to revoke agreements where there are clear cases of non-performance such as non payment of fees to the Government, lack of capital investment on the infrastructures, absence of clinical services to patients, and non compliance with employment policies especially those meant for the benefit of indigenes of host communities. Cc Amah70 so is the new Orlu general hospital okporo operational as stated here, I was told a USA based Orlu indigenes NGOs took over it. |

Look at how empty the land behind is wasted to be occupied by Shanties. They ain't actually building for future city expansion, traffic and economic activists that comes with it. Not even a covered drainage, the kind of mosquitoes it's breeding won't help the eradication of malaria/ typhoid. I just weak for this people
