Recession in US and some EU states is inevitable. Emerging markets will only face hardship in various forms or another. The weaker EMs (non-commodity based) will also be in recession along side the developed world. Emerging Market Assets will become a strong buy as investment leave recession areas.

The mad has inherited the earth. God protect the poor.

Since when does constructive criticism turn to hatred? You lots are the reason our leaders are emboldened to be not any good. Because by the end of the day there is no shortage of people with your mindset that lack the mental and moral capacity to question their actions.

I don't mean to insult you but you seem a little daft reading about your comparison of fuel price in Nigeria and the West without taking into account at least minimum wage, purchasing power and proportion of hourly pay spent on such goods. Or the standard of living accrue thereof to the society from such increment in terms of revenue.

Skyebank is no longer a going concern.
FCMB has been paying a little dividend every year.

DAILY MARKET UPDATE:
From observation both past and present, many seems not to be comfortable with daily market updates here.........and I can remember vivdly how I was told to stop in the past......with some attacks both online and offline, but I just decided that no one can dictate to me.
Think I'll have to stop cos some don't seems to follow discussions on a particular stock thru by reading and following up.
The beauty of it is that many of us are with digital brokers, we can view live trades comfortably.
Then we can discuss any of concern here.

I would advise that much as criticisms of the government is enlightening and educative especially in connection with investment on NSE, doing so from a partisan perspective is a temptation that should be avoided. Once otherwise
educative criticisms get coloured with partisan slurs and jibes, they are bound to lose meaning and place question marks on the motive in a thread like this one thriving on partisan neutrality.

Is this current red wave as a result of a gloomy forecast for next year's election or general poor sentiment towards the economy? I am honestly dumbfounded as some coys that did really well are also being flogged. This is beyond performance and dividends in my opinion. Any thoughts senior ogas?

Experts in the House! I need your advice, I have a little over fifty thousand units of Access bank which I got @ 9.30 I am thinking of selling off to get Ucap for dividend and possible appreciation. What do you advice or do I still hold Access till result is released?
And If the Ucap train isn't feasible at this time, kindly recommend a good stock for capital appreciation for short term. Thank you.

You had better stay with Access and pick up the dividend they will likely offer.
I doubt if Ucap will rise beyond N15.
Patience is needed please.

Even if it's one naira I made on Ucap It's still appreciable with the dividend than Access that I don't know when they are planned to release their result or how much they'll pay in dividend.

The month of February is notorious for its correction, which serves as shake-offs for wary investors with stakes in companies with impressive value.

I was a victim to this last year, I think I panicked when VITAFOAM shares declined and also when UCAP shares slumped days after dividend declaration, one thing I'm happy about is how I was lucky enough to buy after the dividend mark down date.

So for those who have been investing on the NGX for quite a while now, this market correction shouldn't be a shock again, although some fundamentals have changed drastically, yes, but there are still tonnes of upsides in this market.

Also, if you think selling off all, or a few stakes in the companies you own is the best way to deal with the mental stress that comes from investing on the NGX, please go ahead, negativity and all are not the best of rules to play by.

And lastly, my appreciation goes to the powerful mama of this block Mcy56, for the great work she has done so far, and also OGG (Mr Sinclair) for his insightful works as always, if you have not read his piece tagged; “Between Ukraine, Russia and the NGX” graced with your own due diligence, you are doing yourself a great disservice.

* Similar thing happened last year.
* Think it's more of market correction and investors' response to results based on their expectations.......market will stabilize thereafter......*all things being equal*.
* Some are not dividend hunters, so they sell off as soon as result is out and they already made some gains.......to look elsewhere for greener pastures....
** Some will lock in their profits first, wait for dumping and pick lower for dividends before qualification Date......
** ...and so on and so forth......based on individuals investment objectives/goals.
** One of the reasons I replied someone asking for when to position for dividend stocks that it's likely Mid Feb to March (if not yet seated in the bus).
** If it's economic issue, no be today we dey inside am nah...........though we pray that Russian/Ukrainian issue doesn't escalate beyond control, I think experts are forseeing gain for developing countries instead.

If GT should post good result and declare dividend equals to or greater than last year's, it may likely stabilize or lift the market small.
So also ACCESS and the remaining f u.ga.z consortium.
Too many eyes on GT.

Skyebank is of zero value. That is all shares any one has in it is worthless

If you contact a stockbroker you can get your FCMB sold.

Also you can get your unclaimed dividend by getting in touch with the Registrar. Especially if the amount of unclaimed dividend is more than the cost of transportation to the Registrar.

http://www.sec.gov.ng/non-mandated/
You can use the above link to check your unclaimed dividends share/Registrar listing in the NSE by typing your full name.
