You can try some of the drugs prescribed probably it might eventually comot. However if you eventually need to do surgery on it, a friend had similar issue, it was operated upon and it has vanished now. I think is just a minor surgery needed. Saying this to put your mind at ease even if surgery is necessary

But na wahoo how did you know about amoxicillin

U can uproot 3 to 4 eyelashes from that affected eye then give it some days it will disappear

I once had it, i used to massage it gently and it went away. Without surgery.

I had same thing in the same exact position and I was also told it will vanish but it was there for more than fours year,no pain no reaction at all. Till sometime in 2015, I went for a surgery in BUTH and it was removed smooth n easy, less than an hour surgery.

Google "Stye" then go see your ophthalmologist

In my own case (2014) I was given some antibiotics both injection and tabs and it disappeared.
I used maxi-vision at ikeja.
I was also given one photochromic glasses like that (I don long throw-way he glasses )
It is usually caused by dirts. Mine was dust when I was transferred to KD.
You'll be fine, it's nothing to be worried about.

....Hi, i once had it, i use apple cider vinegar with the mother, it is brownish in colour. what i did was i diluted apple cider vinegar, then at intervals i will use cotton bud to apply it, do not let the apple cider vinegar touch your eyes, so preferable apply from outside, after some few days you will notice that the skin will be getting tender, after a while it will burst. Note that on applying the vinegat, it will be pepperish for awhile and avoid it entering your eyes.

This thing always develops whenever you look at your sister's toto. The only cure for it is to tell her that you saw her toto and ask for forgiveness.

Hii, just to be clear External Hordeolum is different from chalazion. External hordeolum is like boil on the lid, there is pain, but since you said it doesn't bother you then it's chalazion.
If it's still soft, you can try warm compress and some antibiotic eye drop, it may resolve on it's own.
If it doesn't, the surgery is not very serious, basically, the doctor will burst it for you but from inside.

It's chalezon.
Minor surgery can take care of it.

My ex had this some years ago. She used the drug from the hospital and some local mixture that she robed on it. I haven't seen her for a while now but she's okay without surgery, I will call to find out for you if you want.

A chalazion and a stye may look similar, but they are not the same. A chalazion is a red bump on the eyelid that develops when there is a blocked oil gland. A stye (also called a hordeolum) develops where your eyelashes start or under your eyelid. Bacterial infections usually cause styes.

Symptoms
The bumps caused by chalazia (the plural of chalazion) or styes may both look red and swollen, but there are some differences.

With a stye, symptoms include:1

Crustiness on the eyelid margin
The feeling of something in your eye
Pain in the affected eyelid
A pimple-like appearance
A scratchy feeling in the eye
Sensitivity to light
Swelling that usually goes away after three days
Tearing in the affected eye

A chalazion sometimes may not have any symptoms aside from a hard bump. If other symptoms develop, they may be:1

Blurry vision could happen with a larger chalazion.
Swelling may affect a larger area around the eye.
Chalazion bumps usually grow more slowly and may develop over a few months before they go away if left untreated. The bump is usually firmer than that from a stye.

Causes
Here are the different causes of a chalazion versus a stye.

Chalazion Causes
A chalazion is caused by a block in one of the oil glands in the eyelid. These glands are called Meibomian glands. Meibomian glands help provide moisture to the eye.

Other risk factors for chalazia include:2

Blepharitis (inflammation of the eyelids)
Rosacea
Seborrheic dermatitis
Tuberculosis
Viral infections
Diabetes, high cholesterol, and other medical problems can raise your risk for chalazia or styes.2

Stye Causes
Most of the time, bacterial infections cause styes. There are two kinds of styes, and they have different infection-linked causes:3

External stye: This type of stye appears at the eyelash base and is usually caused by an infection in the eyelash hair follicle.
Internal stye: This type of stye appears inside the eyelid and is usually caused by an infection in a Meibomian gland from your eyelid.
Inflammation of the eyelids (blepharitis) also can cause a stye. Sometimes, a bump can begin as a stye and then become a chalazion.

Diagnosis
Chalazia and styes do not always require treatment from a healthcare professional. However, if they bother you, you should see an eye doctor.

Both chalazia and styes are diagnosed with an examination of the eyelid area, including the appearance of the eyelashes, the structure of your eyelids, and the texture of the skin near the eyelids.4

This could include the use of bright light to get a closer look at the eyelids to help determine if it is a chalazion, stye, or something else. For instance, the bumps that may appear to be a chalazion or stye could be a type of cancer, including basal cell carcinoma.5


The doctor also may ask about other health conditions that you have, as these could contribute to the development of a stye or chalazion.

Treatment
The treatments for a stye and a chalazion are similar, but not all treatments work for both.

Treatments include the use of:6

Antibiotics: This may be used for an infected stye, but not for a chalazion.
Warm compresses: A warm compress can help promote faster healing. Apply a clean washcloth that has been soaked in hot water to your eyelid three to six times a day for 10 to 15 minutes at a time. Or, you can get an eye mask that can be heated.
Over-the-counter solutions: Stye ointment, eyewash products, and medicated pads to clean the eyelids can help treat a stye, but not a chalazion.
Steroid shots: A steroid shot can lower swelling. Your doctor may choose to use a steroid shot if your chalazion is particularly swollen.
Surgery to drain the chalazion or stye: A doctor can drain a chalazion or stye that obscures your vision. Do not try to drain it yourself at home. This could spread infection.

JennyofOldstones also stated this above, Error401. I can confirm that I had chalazion once before. I had to do that simple surgery to remove it. It was not that expensive. Just go to the specialist to get it checked and removed. If you know it's affecting your self confidence,you can get rid of it ASAP. But if you are not bothered, it can takes some years before it finally disappears.

When the eyes are open for long it won't have space to survive..

My kid sis had this.

She's done surgery on both eyes.

Last weekend, it seemed like it had returned.

Avoid unnecessary surgery. It is Chalazion and it will go on its own after a year or 2. Use a new white handkerchief to follow the aforementioned remedy of warm water compress. Although it may not work cos it's 2 months already. In my case it slightly reduced it after about a month of warm water compress and disappeared completely after almost 2 years. And in the case of eye drops, once it is finished and it is still there, don't go for another one. The best time to do those remedies is immediately you notice it.

Good thing you didn't take Augmentin an antibiotic as was prescribed by a Dr for me. If not for my mum that told me to go to another Dr instead of taking more antibiotics, I'd have continued to use a bomb to kill a fly like the later Dr said. He recommended the use once unit of eye drops and warm water compress.

Please, do not go for surgery. Continuous gentle rubbing of shea butter on the affected area day and night will take care of it. Initially it may seem like nothing is happening but do not worry, healing is effecting internally. Just keep rubbing in shea butter it will be alright.

I ve once had it... Caused by dust/irritation.
I consulted with an optician who advise it would disappear by itself. It's been 9years since it never resurface after 2months then.
