Who Can Explain This Scripture? by Myer(m): 10:14pm On Mar 16, 2022
Most assuredly, I say to you, when you were younger, you girded yourself and walked where you wished; but when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you and carry you where you do not wish.” This He spoke, signifying by what death he would glorify God. And when He had spoken this, He said to him, “Follow Me.”

John 21:18-19

The answer to your question is already in the Scripture.

You could have simply shared the answer.

You could have simply shared the answer.

You should have just stuck with what is written in the Scriptures.

Jesus was giving Peter a prophecy about the way he would die.

You should have passed basic English and understood the difference between reading and explanation.

Exactly... being girded by another and taken where he wouldn't want to was referring to Peter's death by crucifixion.

You should have passed basic English and understood the difference between reading and explanation.

You should simply have accepted the simple and direct meaning of the statement, as stated in that portion of the Scripture.

Is the scripture always direct?

Not in all cases. However, in this case, it is.

Im sure you never knew it was referring to Peter dying by crucifixion.
If only you could learn to listen before jumping to conclusion, theres so much you just could learn.

This actually actually quite instructive.
Here Jesus was telling Peter and by extension, the rest of us how we would die daily.

The journey of a believer is to;
1. Learn the leading of the Holyspirt and to yield/obey_follow.
2. The Holyspirit will lead us to places, situattions and revelations through scripturs that would expose our flesh and it's dominion over us.
3. Our Obedience to the Holyspirit would help us gain dominion over our flesh.
4. Gaining dominion over our flesh is how we grow in Christlikeness.
5. Till the old man becomes crucified and dead. Then the new inner man becomes seen- Christ in us!, our hope of glory.

What you said makes no sense abeg. Rather this is the gobbledegook doctrine of your pastors and mogs. All of this has nothing to do with Jesus Christ.

Anyways, to tackle each claim you made, let's take a look

1. You first need to be born-again and this includes being born of the Spirit of Eternal Life(the grace of God) before you can enter into the Kingdom of God. If you are not born-again, you are simply playing religion
2. The Spirit of Eternal Life, the spirit you are born of, will not lead you — that isn't His job. He primarily works to transform a fleshly being into a being with eternal life, what Paul referred to as edifying or quickening, and this process happens to all born-again sinners. Rather it is by your choice that you decide whether, as a new citizen of the Kingdom of God, you will continue to live your life in submission and obedience to the teachings of Jesus Christ in order that you might then become a son of God. The alternative is you continue in sin(disobedience) and remain a son of the devil — John 8 vs 31 - 44
3. As Jesus Christ made clear, only those among His own who have proved themselves worthy — Holy— through continuous submission and obedience to His teachings and commandments will then go on to have the Spirit of Truth aka the Holy Spirit of the New Covenant. The Holy Spirit cannot live inside of the unrighteous — the world who are still slaves to sin — as they cannot have nor partake of Him - John 14 vs 15 - 26 & John 15 vs 26 - 27 & John 16 vs 4 - 16.

4. Gaining dominion over the flesh alludes to developing one's self-control and self-discipline, both prerequisites as far as those who truly seek to enter into the Kingdom of God through the Narrow Gate which leads to True(Spirit of Truth) Life(Spirit of Life). To become a disciple of Jesus Christ requires one to attain discipline enough to submit to and obey every teaching and commandment of Jesus Christ. undecided

5. The Old man is meant to die/be completely abandoned at the point when you are born of water. To be Born of Water means to submit to the Baptism of Repentance which was first preached by John the Baptist but then reaffirmed by Jesus Christ. According to John the Baptist, the Baptism of Repentance mandates abandoning the Old Law of Moses and nation — and the old man who lived under the stipulations of the Old Law — to embrace instead life and living under God’s New Law and Nation of Priests — becoming a new man whose life is lived under the stipulations of the New Law. undecided

Surely you can see this is not what Jesus Christ meant by the words He spoke to Peter.

John 21: 18 Very truly I tell you, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go.” 19 Yahushua said this to indicate the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God. Then he said to him, “Follow me!”
