For the first time in a very long time, the west are feeling really powerless.

It’s not like they are powerless but they know this can easily lead to nuclear war world war 3 mutiple millions will die.

If we play out the scenario NATO vs Russia. NATO wins but at what cost.

Just imagine the level of destruction.

We are talking nuclear war Hiroshima and Nagasaki was atomic bomb which is of lesser strength compared to nuclear

To those that did not read the full article, what it summarily says is that the US is no longer imposing itself on other countries. Unlike before when they were neo colonialists, now they are seeing other developed countries as much needed and equal allies. This a good thing moving forward for the rest of the world especially for we Africans, giving the current political climate, it seems that the US has learnt to be humble.

They are not scared per say. They are only trying as much as possible to prevent WW3.

Russia's strenghts is in the nukes that they possess and may want to use it uncontrollably.

Otherwise their military skill and technic and their weaponry can't March that of USA at all.

Without nukes I don't see them winning ordinary Ukraine. They also struggling economically.

honestly Russians arent really in fighting mood ATM. And it would likely remain that way until or unless any external forces challenges russia militarily. Or interfere in their internal affairs. I can imagine that this is why the US haven't DARED trying to overthrow putin. Whenever any country gets on the nerve on the USA, what they do is first is try to overthrow their president, replacing him with a friendly one. They've don it many countries. They've even tried it with Erdogan, the president of Turkey. I was surprised that they've never contemplated trying such nonsense with Putin and this article totally explains wht. According to the CIA, the Kremlin is the most coded place in the world. Putin has even started clearing off some elements that he doesn't trust fully. The moment he notices that the USA are trying anything, he would be sure to leak it to the Russians who wouldn't have any of it. So the hands of the US are tied right now. The more they decide to interfer in Russia's affairs, the more the Russian people would become anti-west which I'm sure they wouldn't want.

This is very funny. Yeltin, the man who was the president of Russia before putin, was a certified western ass licker. The man did as he was told to do by the USA as they constantly humiliated Russia. Note that while this man was ass licking the ass of the USA, he was still criticizing their move to expand NATO towards Russia despite the reason why NATO was crated, the USSR was no more. When putin took over, he was fairly pro west as well. His attempt to join NATO was thwarted. NATO needed an enemy and if russia joined, pretty much NATO would become a useless bloc.

Which is why Putin asked in Germany, 2007.
"Are we still your enemies that you keep on expanding your alliance towards us?"

It is obvious that after the dissolution of the USSR, Russia legit wanted to form ties with the USA and the west. But USA felt like they won the Cold war hence they can treat their former rivals which was now a shadow of his former self, however they like. They became the proud fućks that they've been known to be.

Meanwhile, If USA can manage to overthrow putin and replace him with a pro western president like they did with Ukraine, believe me they will treat Russia with more respect than they have since the fall of the USSR. But the thing is, it is too late.
Lavrov, 2 days ago said "the illusions of Russia forming ties with the West is all but over now".
Meaning, instead of trying to create ties with the West they will instead with China and others in Asia and South America and even Africa. Russia has been of late increasing their presence in Africa. I don't know if it is just me that notices it
funny thing is China, is closely monitoring all that is happening and they will sure choose Russia over America any day...

Russians may not be interested in war at the Moment but when America is fully involved then its, war... Sadly NATO(USA) Is the cause of all this War

Imagine Russia having a camp at the Canadian Border

That is not the case, what you’re seeing is the reasoning and policy of a man who has lost a child in a war, and has been a congressman for over 30years, understands the US foreign policy over different presidents, as well as being a former Vice President.

Should there be a change of government in the US, say a republican, we will be back to where we were.

Every US president comes with their own approach to international politics, no one of two takes the same approach to international politics like their predecessors.

Russia does not have the tech and resources and money to take over world power from USA.

The only country that I see as viable replacement is China.

China will eventually take it from USA. They have a good economy and their military strenghts and technology is growing at a fast rate.

I'm 50/50 on this matter. I hate how America has approved too many evils as normal and exported them to the rest of the world.

Anyway, America is the reason there is still peace on Earth. At the same time, I like how Russia has reduce their oppression and ego.

Russia says has again fired hypersonic missiles in Ukraine
Russia said it had again fired its newest
hypersonic missiles in Ukraine, destroying a fuel storage site in the country’s south.
“Kinzhal aviation missile systems with hypersonic ballistic missiles destroyed a large storage site for fuels and lubricants of the Ukrainian armed forces near the settlement of Kostyantynivka in the Mykolaiv region,” the Russian defence ministry said.
The strike marked the second day in a row that Russia used the Kinzhal, a weapon capable of striking targets 2,000km (1,250 miles) away at a speed 10 times the speed of sound.

Is not that USA cannot intervene in the ear with Russia...USA is careful because if they intervene it can lead to world war 3 ..and many countries will be affected by the world war 3...so USA do not want the war to spread to other innocent European countries and the war becomes a nuclear war where many people in the world will die even the nuclear war can affect Africa, Asia, and the people...so they just want the war to be limited to Ukraine and not to go beyond Ukraine...but if Russia attack any NATO country member that is when USA and NATO will intervene in the war and attack Russia

There is just no way for them to win this fight against Russia.

Either they place a no flight zone thereby bringing about WWIII which will involve nuclear weapons.

Or they come up with a favourable negotiation which Putin will accept.

Apart from that, nothing...all these sanctions hardly work for a food and energy independent country. Rather it will affect other countries highly dependent on them.

The war has been won already
You came late to the party.

The sole aim is to cripple Russia and that has been achieved.

Whether Russia conquers Ukraine or not, the aim has been achieved.

America is always years ahead! The bait was Ukraine and Putin fell for it. Now, Russia won’t get out of this mess in next two decades and harsh economy might make citizens revolt.

Russia is fvcking grounded now and it only will take a couple of months before you see citizens turn on Putin, or oligarchs arrange for his assassination.

The "even Africa" reveals some poor understanding of the situation. Africa is a primary ally of Russia- for it was Soviet effort that caused the independence of many African countries.

Africa is now very important on the world stage given our key allies Russia and China

Take back your demonic civilization and let us be. They're are now Humble indeed, Russia made them feel so powerless, Putin is ready to face US if they ever tried nonsense in Ukraine "it is like a bait to get US and deal with them" but they're very smart by dodging the bullets of Putin the master planner!. By the time Russia gets through from the sanctions ,US will be like Saudi Arabia. Very neutral in interfering with other country's business..

This has weakened Russia more. America is less aggressive because of the implications of escalation which is World war 3. World war 3 will destroy the world economy apart from the millions that will die.

Ok the US preaches democracy etc which is their gospel and new colonization unlike Russia where Putin made himself life president, which system is better a democratic society or an oligarchy society with a life president as its head.

US was very instrumental in countries around the world adopt democracy which seems to be the fairest way to govern a nation

Nonsense.

Its because of the crop of leaders leading US right now.

The real Americans are not happy with Joe Biden right from his abrupt withdrawal of US soldiers from Afghanistan to his soft handling of Ukraine invasion by Russia.

Feminists and effeminate cowardly gays have taken over US and other Western nations and have made them powerless to the advantage of rising powers like China.

Several ex US marines are volunteering to join Ukraine military to fight independently as they feel their go vernment has failed Ukrainians haven promised to protect them from any external aggression if they surrendered their nuclear warheads to Russia in 1994.

So many individual volunteers from US are currently fighting in Ukraine.

Its all about leadership failure of current US President

Why does NATO still exist even after the Cold War has been over for years? It seems like unnecessary aggression and provocation of Russia to me. The whole concept of NATO seems like a disaster and another world war waiting to happen.

If it was up to me, NATO will be disbanded and a new mechanism for establishing strong bilateral relationships with the East, particularly Russia and China, will be established.

We all have to live on this planet together irrespective of our differences and the worlds economy is too intertwined for all these unnecessary wars and sanctions.
