BIGDADDY000:
haha, why on earth will you put a car on the road without ROAD WORTHINESS?

in a saner climate its compulsory, that's part of your LICENSE & REGISTRATION.

In saner climates, the vehicle without roadworthiness and/or insurance gets immediately ceased by law enforcement agents.

But when you consider the Nigerian roads, you will agree that the roads are actually not vehicle worthy.

Those who make the law are just wicked and place revenue far above the suffering the Masses is going through,as they themselves ( VIO,Fed Road Safety Corps, etc) don't even have the Roadworthiness Documents themselves and even the Roads are so bad that you can hardly drive without a brush or accident with a third party!

In Lagos, they are very thorough with the whole inspection exercise.

Last month, I had to go three times before, I was given RDW.

The inspecting officers seemed to find a problem each time I went.

I found a hack and I passed the last time.

@OP Road Worthiness is important.

I know it is a pain, but roadworthiness is very very necessary.

The thing is, a lot of accidents in this country are caused by badly maintained cars.

Best to have standards, even if it makes us uncomfortable.

The govt don't bother about your maintenance, they only want to see your documents to be sure you have paid. They are after the money not your safety.

Funny enough, Road Worthiness certificate is issues without even sighting the carbon question. In this jungle, it's all about the revenue and not the Worthiness.

They should allow people use the money to make their vehicle road worthy.

All this is to collect money from Nigerians.

The paper doesn't make the vehicle road worthy.

As a sequel to court's verdict in Delta State, Private vehicle owners do not need any road worthiness...

Nigerians choose to be blissfully ignorant about the law, which by the way is not an excuse...

It's not so important .it's more of revenue.

How many danfo in this Lagos is road worthy, based on your experience with the inspection officer.

That paper doesn't make the vehicle road worthy.

. You are wrong according to the law. You are speaking based on what is being done, but legally it's supposed to be for commercial vehicles only.

OMG!!! Reading so many ignorant comments on here. Does the paper make the car roadworthy? A High Court and Federal Appeal Court in Delta State have trashed the claim that private vehicles need the road worthiness certificate yet many people are still supporting illegality. One even said we should wait for the case to get to the Supreme Court first. Chaiii!!! Who do us dis tin for naija #SlaveMentality. The Courts have said you dont need it and the VIO cannot hold you for it except your vehicle is designated for commercial purposes yet una dey shook head for hole! For your information and enlightenment, see the links below: https://punchng.com/why-appeal-court-barred-vio-from-demanding-private-vehicles-roadworthiness-certificate-lawyer/?amp=

@OP The Courts even ruled that the VIO has no business being on the roads talk less of demanding any documents that their inspection is limited to their offices.

Do you think they inspect the cars before issuing out road worthiness? They don't do that ,so how will they know cars that are road worthy?
