I don't still think wokeness has been mainly the problem. Comic enthusiasts have been complaining for some years now of dropping quality of comics these days. And I think fresh takes or NEW content is blamed for this.

Gay characters and the likes ain't new in comics these days and that superman son narrative ain't surprising or gonna turn off people in significant numbers. We've known Wonder Woman is Bi although not explicitly stated for decades. Harley Quinn is obviously Bisexual, so is Poison Ivy. Even that Tim Drake sef get gay vibes with him right from time. I won't be surprised if he comes out. The first Green Lantern Alan Scott is also gay. So all this one no dey surprise any ardent follower of comics.

It's just more publicised or talked about these days.

It's one thing to make something for a demographic so long as it meets their needs and tells a good story

It's another thing to make a woke story without any concern or focus on plot...

Have you even read any Shoujo or Josei titles? How'd you know they're not "preachy" then?

Nope. They're different characters.
Alternate characters are quite different from the mentioned characters.

The characterization, the portrayal, the ideals, the drive, race? and other stuffs makes them different.
You can't say Batman is the same as Nightwing or Batgirl (Cassandra Cain). You can't say superman is same as Superboy.

Alternate versions of same characters are Supergirl and Powergirl. Batman and Nite Owl. Superman and Ultraman, Kingdom Come, Injustice etc.

It's just like saying Moonknight is an alternate version of Batman.

The fvvk. One of the best if not the Best movie I've ever watched to be produced by Netflix.
It was the movie that made me start taking Netflix seriously.

It's also the best Noomi Rapacw movie for me. Funny enough na that movie I finally learn to memorize Willem Dafoe name and face for head.
