Most things we refer to as project, are basic amenities . so no big deal for them. In Nigerian we commission toilet, bolehole, transformer, street lights etc Abeg we are far behind 38 Likes 1 Share |

Because to them, executing projects is a norm but here in Africa, we see execution of a project as a favour done to the citizens hence the funfare. 16 Likes 1 Share |

The things we commission here are amenities and infrastructure that necessary for human survival. Imagine commissioning a half baked bridge courtesy of our daddy Desmond Elliott. That's why they keep the citizens in darkness, refuse to pay workers, make sure federal roads are left in shambles, refuse paying lecturers so that ASUU strike will continue. Then they will use the above to contest for election, we will provide electricity and all. We celebrate mediocrity in Nigeria and Africa as a whole. 7 Likes 2 Shares |

BigRocky:Get proper education. Projects are not human rights. What American political executives celebrate is passing budget for their plans. The budget itself is the project. 2 Likes 1 Share |

That's the job of governors. The president deals with important matters like national security, international relations, and economy on a federal scale. Some infrastructural development is even carried out by private corporations. Nigeria is gone nothing will change I'm not being pessimistic it is pure reality. 3 Likes |

Nothing wrong with commissioning projects. Most of the USA is already built up, and there are probably more state projects than federal projects. So I would expect the governors to be doing more of the commissioning than the President. They run a proper federation unlike us here. Meanwhile, the Turkish President commissioned a bridge a few weeks ago and it was huge. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k4ELpzyV19Q 1 Like |

The money budgeted for commissioning of most of those projects in 9ja, can even build a moderate health centre or blocks of class room for some rural schools. The only projects that need commissioning are something like space station, dams, high speed trains, etc. 2 Likes |

Nigeria's leader needs to commission as to impress or show off. But basically it's a show of backwardness,a president should be busy attention to most important things not flying around to commission a bridge Chartered flight to another state for just the president would cost 25m naira with the VIP treatment. The solution is that cost of governance should be reduced, they won't be able to fly anyhow |
