Not so long ago, I had a wound on my arm that later formed a lil raised scar, though I've been on steroid injections (Tetramicinolone) for sometime now and it has shrinked to the barest minimum, but I had to peel it open, so I can be able to sprinkle powdered capsule (Ampicillin) on the surface — to fasten the healing process.

But I don't know if sprinkling the capsule on it would dry off the wound, thereby healing it.

I am open to any other suggestion that would prove effective.

The steroid injection is delaying your wound healing. Let that sink! Your wound is about 6 times slower in healing with the use of that glucocorticoids (Tetramicinolone) you are using.

There is nothing like an open scar.

Well, I won't be applying it again once this one gets off. I'll try the chloramphenicol capsule that was suggested on here.

When you tamper with a hypertrophic scar it only gets darker and bigger ...don't pick it again.

In this case, it is a keloid scar, but it's getting smaller by the day.

maybe different company with their trademark names. The one we have in shop is called Medmoral. They all contain chymotrypsin. It works well too

But, like I said before, the wound had already healed a long time ago and consequently formed a scar, so I had to start using steroids on it. I hope you understand.

On my last visit to the hospital, the doctor told me that most at time, steroid injections do work overtime, but I didn't bother to ask what he meant by that. But, please, I am eager to know what he meant by that statement?

When similar thing happened to me, I was informed by the pharmacist to use Vitamin C as well as Beecham Ampiclox. It worked well! But I suggest you get the services of a medical expert and get it tested to ascertain if there are any underlying issue.

First thing first- O P,did you take an anti- tetanus injection immediately,first- because a wound with a strange object is dangerous to your body!
Your failure to abide by this simple Medical -line can exposed your body to danger!

I'd advise you use Flagyl instead,
Ampicillin cannot dry the surface,
For fast healing take
Vitamin C
Then if you feel like applying anything, clean the surface with spirit, or press gently with hot water, then apply Flagyl(antibiotic) on the surface, it will reduce risk of infection on the surface.

Now listen, go to a chemist; a good one. He'll have to clean the wound thoroughly with Hydrogen and spirit, disinfect also. With the help of lidocaine, you won feel the pains.
The dead tissues should be cut out so as to have a clean fresh wound that can accept the powder you want to apply. Cover properly. Then, you'll need flagyl 400mg b.d 5/7, chymotrypsin; 2 b.d 5/7, anti inflammatory drugs, v.c, and analgesics. Don't forget to inject T.T. Thank ma later
